Your phone will get outdated, but the key fob won’t. I had an iPhone 11 and it wouldn’t open as fast as my key fob. I have an iPhone 15 pro now and works great, but it’s only a matter of time before it starts acting like my iPhone 11. Keyfob is almost future-proof, in that sense.
The app is referred to as a DIGITAL KEY. If it fails proximity-use the time function (2 minutes to start). Also, repair centers don’t need yr phone or your card. They have a scanner that unlocks yr car and starts yr car.
You mentioned your car can stay unlocked at various places. Check the exclude from home option. I have the model 3 2024. Can you elaborate please. Thank you. Or any help or comments would be great. First time owner as of today.

Chris can you talk about what to do when you bring your car to a parking garage to make sure the car doesn’t lock. Same with car wash.

What if a thief is hiding in the parking lot, and as soon as the car owner walks away, opens the door before it is locked and steals things?
