    Congrats on the purchase!
    There's something about these Quattroporte models that really do it for me. Just such a stunningly elegant car, combined with the gorgeous wood/leather interior, combined with that glorious engine note... It's the perfect example of that car you really do buy with your heart, and I imagine it's the type of thing that, one sold, you will forever think of fondly.
    I'm still very strongly considering one as a replacement for my Alfa 147 GTA (which I sold about a year ago).

    • @HSGAutomotive
      @HSGAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice, and yeah they definitely are all about the personality and charisma, much like an Alfa. They are much closer to Alfa Romeo than they are to Ferrari or Lambo in that way

    You clearly found the GT7 option for selling cars 🚗.
    One day I will find it also (don't tell, I want to find it for myself 😅)
    Enjoy your Maserati car.
    After seeing the Netflix documentary my appreciation has grown.

    Utterly stunning colour combo - suits the car beautifully! Noted re the auto being superior to the duoselect... but there is a purity to them (transaxle, essentially manual) that's very appealing.

    When I saw "Maserati", the only question I had was colour. I did prefer the blue, but this is still nice. My dream Maserati I've never seen without a CambioCorsa sadly, so if I'm ever lucky enough to get a Coupe or GranSport, it'll probably always live in manual mode.
    I'm intrigued for a possible before and after for both the exhaust on the Quattroporte and the EFI swap for Abe, I love how those Snipers still look carbed

      I would recommend to anyone, regardless of if they like the brand or ever plan on buying one, to test drive a Quattroporte. They basically are Italy's Jag to the Aston that Ferrari represents. They're more delicate than a brawler Jag to live with, but are just works of art to drive

    • @Punisher9419

      @@HSGAutomotive When I was looking at a nice car it was either the XKR or the Maserati but in the end I went with the XKR X100. I don't think I made a mistake I just think it would be nice to have both on the driveway although I don't think my wallet could handle that.

    my favorite color combo for maserati, silver or blue with the dark red interior followed by burgundy or blue with saddle. i don't even understand common colors for maserati. in the states that is, i'm unsure what you can get in the old world. i believe the naturally aspirated v8 gran turismo will continue to fall in price and be destroyed and defiled by young men, however those that survive this rape in the S variant and in the colors above, in immaculate 1 or 2 owner condition will in the not too distant future be very valuable and very rare indeed.

      Well im on the otherside...im not a modern Maserati fan...especially the Quatrroporte. Correct me if im wrong, doesnt it use Chrysler parts? Its cheap for a reason. I havent driven one...but i rode in one...power is decent and sound is great but the handling is abysmal. A friend of mine borrowed one and brought it to the Tail of the Dragon here in the states...318 curved in 11 miles...and i was in my MINI Cooper GP (first gen) and he was left in the dust in the first couple of turns. But hey enjoy ur new to you Maserati...id go with a Jag or Aston Martin if i were you. CHEERS!

    • @HSGAutomotive
      @HSGAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are zero Chrysler parts in this. And the one you were in was clearly newer if the handling was bad, because any Quattroporte V is one of the best handling cars around.

    I have just bought a 2009 4.7s and want to love it..but I think I may have actuator problems. There’s a brief rattle on start up which goes after a few seconds. Engine is a bit ticky until warm then settles. After reviving there is a ‘chatter’ around 1500 revs before resting at idle. Ticky again under acceleration. Is it doomed? I don’t think the VIN is after the new actuators we’re fitted. It does have full Maserati history. The last 4 at a specialist.

  • @jamesboggan118

    What I love about Maserati is that even the lamest duck 🦆 knows that the brand makes very special cars. When I owned my AMG GLE 43 ppl used to tell me all the time that they knew someone else who owned the same SUV only to meet these ppl in passing and they were driving GLE 350/450/500’s. 🤦🏽‍♂️ I couldn’t imagine spending $100k on a Jaguar F-Type SVR for my date to tell me when I pick her up on Friday night that her ex-boyfriend had one of these too 🙄 Only for us to bump into her ex boyfriend in traffic with his new girlfriend and the decal on his F-Type reads “S” and his exhaust pipes are in the center of the diffuser close together🤦🏽‍♂️… Maserati owners don’t have to explain how special their cars are and why they are special. Everyone already knows…!

    • @HSGAutomotive
      @HSGAutomotive  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely, although more recently their numerous diesel models and making the Ghibli and QP look so alike does disappoint me tbh

    • @jamesboggan118
      @jamesboggan118 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HSGAutomotive I agree the Ghibli looks like the QP on a serious diet. And I do not like the sound of its puny V6. 😓 The interiors of the Maseratis from the 2003-2013 are works of art and the new era of Maseratis are very bland. I am in the small minority of ppl that think the 4200 GS is a more beautiful car than its successor the GranTurismo. The 4200 GS and the facelift QP Sport GTS are the two Masers I desire the most.

  • @andybroer651
    @andybroer651 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi HSG, 1 minute in you have confused me. I own 2 Maserati GranTurismos a Sport and Grand Cabrio and your comment on the handling and weight distribution for the ZF transmission cars are all 49%F and 51%R for the Quattroporte (which they are all based on) as well as the GrandTurismo Sport twins. Same platform as well. So, what are you talking about???

    • @HSGAutomotive
      @HSGAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I just remembered wrong on that one 😄 I recalled the GT being a more conventional front biased weight from the shorter wheelbase. That longer wheelbase is more likely what makes the QP handling more unique, because it’s more exaggerated

    • @andybroer651
      @andybroer651 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HSGAutomotive Thanks for commenting on that issue. They all drive similarly as they are based on the same chassis and the ZF is the way to go!

  • @checker3694
    @checker3694 ปีที่แล้ว

    I researched quattroporte to a death and chose the Duo select simply because I wanted a ferrari powered engine with a clutch. Same with my XJR had to be Auto not manual. Don't buy these cars if you are not mechanically competent, ok if you have deep pockets, very reliable if you buy the right one. The Zf 6 only works on torquey engines, this is not, ZF 8 would be perfect on this car.
