Everyone is enthralled by Jack Black's over the top enthusiastic dancing, but
it's Robert Downey Jr that actually nails the choreography.
Smooth and has the wrist flicks down pat. Impressive.

The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Five Satins, The Barons, Gene Chandler and RDJ could have danced with anyone one of them. They would have asked Jack to leave the stage. He got away with it here because it wasn't a serious take.
He sings pretty good too like Jack Black, the odd one out was Ben.

These three comedic geniuses know that sometimes the best comedy is the contrast: so if Jack is going all out one of them has to be reserved to make it really pop:
If you look early on RDJ was improvising as well: but also Ben stiller did the same: almost taking turns with RDJ being the "serious" or base contrast while the others popped.

That's because RDJ is a method actor who actually used the infinity time stone to travel back in time to become the 4th Pip with Gladys Knight for 3 months so he would execute flawlessly in this 4 minute sketch. What dedication to his craft.

I was really surprised at how smooth Robert Downey Jr was in his dancing. He could have been a real PIP if that acting thing had not worked out for him.
He played Chaplin. Chaplin was called "the fucking dancer" by one of his contemporaries. Chaplin was a master at rhythm and body movement, so if RDJ could play Chaplin it's because he has that in him.

RDJ is so my boyfriend. (In my head movies, of course.) Even when he was running amok, falling asleep on rooftops and getting arrested he was lovable. Now that he's sober and fit AF he's sexier than ever. He has a joie de vivre and brains for days. I don't need to tell you ladies. I'm glad this video found its way into my feed. Gladys sounds phenomenal and JB and RDJ can actually sing (maybe Stiller can, too - I can't recall if I've heard him), but RDJ has the smooth moves and the lean physique of a Pip. Damn can he wear a suit!

We don't know that all of them knew the song before they rehearsed the performance. They probably _did_ know it as it is a popular song, but seeing them perform it doesn't prove they had a lot of respect for Gladys. Just a silly statement that assumes a bit too much.

I've been a bit depressed lately but just watching this video alleviated a lot of it. Thank you, Jack, Ben, and Robert. I can't begin to describe how much I needed to laugh that much, especially when Robert disappeared and Jack went looking for him and returned with his pants half off. My eyes teared up in laughter.

Jack Black’s pure energy and obvious love of music is just so dang infectious that as the performance goes on, it starts to positively affect Stiller and RDJ - Stiller gradually starts to let loose a bit more and gave some fun with it, and RDJ breaks his natural coolest dude onstage vibe to smirk and try suppressing a laugh at Jack’s antics. No way you can be that close to the sun of Jack Black up onstage and not feel the warmth of those rays of pure excitement and joy! Loved and needed this!
Oh, and can we talk about how Gladys is older than all of them but looks their age or even a smidge younger…? Forever gorgeous!
