Heathen is great band that never got the wide recognition it deserved. It just shows the ''business'' isn't actually about music... Too bad though, I wish they were a LOT bigger so they would world-tour more often...
I remember when I saw this the first time. Must have been about 16 years old. The record was just released. I bought it right away. And played the vinyl just an hour ago. This song rocks!
I am with you on this one brother. I remember this vid hitting mtv and the next day I had the tape of this band. and now its what 22 years later. damn that hurts....but I still love this song!!!!!!!
Such a great cover. Heathen is one of the best, underappreciated thrash bands ever - my roomies and I would put Breaking the Silence on infinite repeat and when Open the Grave came on everyone would stop whatever they were doing and just thrash. We did then dig up Sweet F.A., and you know what? We liked that too. You couldn't have such a good cover without such a great song to being with.
Heathen's back dude. Right now they're touring with Exodus, Testament, and Kreator. They plan to release their new album,The Evolution of Chaos, in 2009.
Oh HEATHEN, fucking GODS! I love them, have every album of them! But for some reason they are very underrated, i have absolutely no idea why. In my opinion, one of the biggest bands ever!
I'll always love the good old 80's, the music was so real and well played and Heathen still is an old time and new time great band, one of my favs and this cover is so beautiful!
no idea why, but this is such a great video. maybe becose pearcy builts his own guitar and breaks it. oscar for camera and cut. really like this. surely low budget but magnificent.
@xDIStructorx....Yep. Paul Baloff did vocals for Heathen for a bit, and Lee Altus, Heathen's guitarist, was a part of Exodus for a while. O-G Bay Area Bashers \m/
For me, their best album was Victims of Deception. Such a classic balls out metal album. The guitar work was awesome! They dont make it like that anymore. :-/
These guys should've been as huge as Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer, also is Pure Rock a music video channel? Great killer song and I like this version better than the Sweet's and Saxon's.
This is one of the few Sweet covers that actually rivals the original. Krokus' version of Ballroom Blitz? Keep it. Heathen actually kept fairly true to original while punching up the heaviness and adding their own flare without altering the awesomeness of Sweet's original music. Just wish this vid didn't clip off at the end.
This song totally kicks ass, why Heathen didn't become huge is beyond me.
Heathen is great band that never got the wide recognition it deserved.
It just shows the ''business'' isn't actually about music...
Too bad though, I wish they were a LOT bigger so they would world-tour more often...

This song rocks!
Lee Atlus and Doug Piercy are some of metal's most underrated guitarists.
This band is so underrated, but they're playing really cool
One of my favourite metal songs ever.
80's thrash metal with a 70's feel and funk
I am with you on this one brother. I remember this vid hitting mtv and the next day I had the tape of this band. and now its what 22 years later. damn that hurts....but I still love this song!!!!!!!

Loved this tune back in the day. Kinda Anthrax/Maiden style. Very good to find it here.
It's rare you'll find a thrash band covering a glam band, but this actually worked out well.
Thrash and speed metal still the best music eva!!!

I know this band since i bought the "pray for death"demo. in 1986. I love listening to their albums.
i don't understand how heathen didn't get as big as other thrash metal bands from the bay area...oh well still really wicked song
Vince Neil covered this tune on his first solo album, and Steve Stevens laid down one very wicked lead on that version.
He TIG welded.... fuck, I've got new respect for that guy! I couldn't TIG weld if my life depended on it XD
thanks for the tip, i didn't know there was a demo
good version
olde but goody

OMG! I am getting old!
this is real metal when people knew how to play their instruments
BRUTALLLLLLLLL
It's so great!!!!!!! haha
@xDIStructorx....Yep. Paul Baloff did vocals for Heathen for a bit, and Lee Altus, Heathen's guitarist, was a part of Exodus for a while.
O-G Bay Area Bashers
\m/
they should be given credit for their contribution as well as metal history
I love this Band!
Fucking Great \m/
For me, their best album was Victims of Deception. Such a classic balls out metal album. The guitar work was awesome! They dont make it like that anymore. :-/

Greatness, but I think "Goblin'd Blade" has it beat.
This song is so damn old holy god
Always been a Sweet fan but, this is pretty damn good!
This song is a Sweet cover.
I first heard this version, before the original. Sweets version is much better!
@frenchienofrog it's by the sweet, off the fanny adams album

Its a cover of a song from 1974 by the Sweet. Check it out.
@SurfStefGoldCoast originals usualy are, but this is a great kick ass version
These guys should've been as huge as Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer, also is Pure Rock a music video channel?
Great killer song and I like this version better than the Sweet's and Saxon's.

Banda de Thrash Metal fazendo cover de banda de Glam Rock, tem que valorizar o Glam Rock 70/80 \o/

This is one of the few Sweet covers that actually rivals the original.
Krokus' version of Ballroom Blitz? Keep it.
Heathen actually kept fairly true to original while punching up the heaviness and adding their own flare without altering the awesomeness of Sweet's original music. Just wish this vid didn't clip off at the end.
id sit and wait for this video to play on headbangers ball
@danzigfan92 interesting point.
I never thought of it really...he sort of does, but I think more like the singer from Krokus.
What a great fuckin thrash band \m/

Trivia note : The guitar that Doug is building in this video is now hanging in Thean's basement
