Your videos are really the go to for interview questions related to Scrum and Agile methodology Product development..Please keep the videos coming. A big Thank you.

It was very informative and thanks for this experience. As everyone says we don't learn only by our experience but also by experience of others , this video and your channel is the best example of it. Really lucky enough to know about your channel. Apart from it just have a confusion , which you can help me clear it out. So , I am a QA Engineer(3yrs Exp) and I am thinking to switch to the role of scrum master. Is it worth switching or should I continue in the same (Mostly interested in non technical role)If you can give your thoughts on it , it would be great.

A Team having 20 velocity has started a sprint. Now there is AdHoc requirement (10 story points) from client which has to be finished in the same sprint without adjusting current sprint. There are no chances of change in scope, time & cost and this is communicated with product owner. How a scrum master should handle this case ?
you don't need scrum master but Super Man for this case. kidding!! what do you think , we should do about this? share your thoughts. Also join our whatsapp group - check the link in community tab- join the Agile ASIA group .. see you there ...
I'd say talk to the team and ask if they can jump on board to work late NOW in exchange for a 10 story point sprint in the next sprint. Basically invest the time to handle the current need but get a relaxed next sprint. (without lack of pay)
Thank you for your great video on Scrum. Actually I am in technical role from last 12 years now wanted to switch from tech to Scrum role. Can you let me know should I switch my role as well as how to switch from tech to Scrum?
While searching the Job as a scrum master fresher, I could only find the job openings for experienced candidates. I checked on LinkedIn and various other job portals. HI Team, Good day, I am a Hardware engineer with 13 years experience, I am looking for career change, Please advise me can I do CSM/PSM and will get job related to Scrum master in a SW development team.
Hi Sir, could you please share your view on importance of Product owner and Product Manager in scrum and also can PM allocate a new scrum team to scrum master without the knowledge of PO?
1- it's a long answer, will try to cover in future 2- ideally team must capable enough to do the project work , it's always good to take PO in confidence while selecting the scrum team but again some time it varies in organization
Do Scrum Master need to focus on improving velocity of the Scrum team sprint by sprint, or he needs to focus on maintaining the velocity in each sprint?
Please understand, Velocity will not grow endlessly. At one point, your team meets velocity inflation, which mean one story point will now have less value compare to previous old sprints. Scrum master should focus on team predictability (Plan To-DO ratio)
A Scrum Master’s role concerning velocity involves both maintaining and improving it, but the focus can vary depending on the team’s context and needs: 1. **Maintaining Velocity**: - **Consistency**: Ensuring that the team maintains a steady velocity from sprint to sprint helps with predictability and planning. Consistent velocity indicates that the team is operating in a stable and sustainable manner. - **Addressing Issues**: If velocity drops or becomes inconsistent, the Scrum Master should investigate the underlying causes, such as impediments, team dynamics, or external factors, and work to resolve them. 2. **Improving Velocity**: - **Continuous Improvement**: The Scrum Master should foster an environment of continuous improvement. This involves encouraging the team to reflect on their processes and seek ways to become more efficient and effective. - **Removing Impediments**: Identifying and removing impediments that slow down the team’s progress can help improve velocity. - **Supporting Team Growth**: Facilitating skill development, team cohesion, and better practices can contribute to improved performance and higher velocity over time. **Balance**: While it’s important to aim for improvements in velocity, it should not be the sole focus. Emphasizing sustainable pace and quality of work is crucial. Increasing velocity without regard to quality or team health can lead to burnout or technical debt. Ultimately, the Scrum Master should strive for a balance between maintaining a reliable velocity and working with the team to incrementally improve it. The goal is to enhance overall team performance while ensuring that the work is of high quality and that the team remains motivated and productive.

The timing of Agile ceremonies can vary based on team preferences and organizational needs, but here are some common practices for scheduling: 1. **Sprint Planning**: - **Best Time**: At the beginning of the sprint, typically the first day or the day before the sprint starts. - **Duration**: Usually 1-2 hours for a 2-week sprint, with the time adjusted based on sprint length and complexity. - **Purpose**: To define the sprint goal, select backlog items for the sprint, and plan the work required to complete those items. 2. **Daily Stand-Up**: - **Best Time**: Daily, ideally at the same time each day to establish a routine. Common times are either first thing in the morning or after the team’s daily check-in. - **Duration**: 15 minutes or less. - **Purpose**: To synchronize the team’s work, discuss progress, identify obstacles, and plan the day’s work. 3. **Sprint Review**: - **Best Time**: At the end of the sprint, typically on the last day or the day before the sprint ends. - **Duration**: 1-2 hours, depending on sprint length and the number of items to review. - **Purpose**: To demonstrate completed work to stakeholders, gather feedback, and discuss any changes or new requirements. 4. **Sprint Retrospective**: - **Best Time**: Immediately following the Sprint Review, or the day after the sprint ends, but before the next Sprint Planning meeting. - **Duration**: 1-1.5 hours. - **Purpose**: To reflect on the sprint, discuss what went well, what didn’t, and identify actionable improvements for future sprints. 5. **Backlog Refinement (Grooming)**: - **Best Time**: Regularly throughout the sprint, often once or twice a week. - **Duration**: 1 hour per session, depending on backlog size and complexity. - **Purpose**: To review and refine the product backlog, clarify user stories, estimate effort, and ensure the backlog is ready for upcoming sprints. ### Tips for Scheduling: - **Consistency**: Try to schedule ceremonies at consistent times to build a routine. - **Time Zones**: If the team is distributed, find a time that accommodates all time zones as best as possible. - **Avoid Overlaps**: Ensure that ceremonies don’t overlap with other critical team activities or meetings. Adjustments might be necessary based on the specific needs of your team and organization. Regularly reviewing and adapting the schedule based on team feedback can help maintain efficiency and effectiveness.

What is the best time for daily standup?
It depends on team geo
The timing of Agile ceremonies can vary based on team preferences and organizational needs, but here are some common practices for scheduling:
1. **Sprint Planning**:

- **Duration**: 1-2 hours, depending on sprint length and the number of items to review.
- **Purpose**: To demonstrate completed work to stakeholders, gather feedback, and discuss any changes or new requirements.
4. **Sprint Retrospective**:
- **Best Time**: Immediately following the Sprint Review, or the day after the sprint ends, but before the next Sprint Planning meeting.
- **Duration**: 1-1.5 hours.
- **Purpose**: To reflect on the sprint, discuss what went well, what didn’t, and identify actionable improvements for future sprints.
5. **Backlog Refinement (Grooming)**:
- **Best Time**: Regularly throughout the sprint, often once or twice a week.
- **Duration**: 1 hour per session, depending on backlog size and complexity.
- **Purpose**: To review and refine the product backlog, clarify user stories, estimate effort, and ensure the backlog is ready for upcoming sprints.
### Tips for Scheduling:
- **Consistency**: Try to schedule ceremonies at consistent times to build a routine.

Adjustments might be necessary based on the specific needs of your team and organization. Regularly reviewing and adapting the schedule based on team feedback can help maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
Is change in scope same as Scope creep.?
Yes, work added that was not part of an original sprint, epic
Change in scope can also be a metrics to gauge the team. For ex. Adding or de scoping a user story from that current sprint.
