    Great craftsmanship! Can't believe you made your own louvered doors! I would have just bought them at Lowes!

    I watched part 2 and 3 and first I want to applaud your beautiful craftsmanship, and the classic larger vessel and ship details such as the sliding hatch and companionway doors! Beautifully done sir! Also, the first small correction to terminology is that lovely "Fiddlehead" bow detail which is actually called a "Figurehead" and not "Maidenhead" good sir. The second small correction is that Hawsepipe is a pipe from the weather deck angled downward and forward passing through the side of the vessel and through which the anchor chain runs and into which is housed the shank of the anchor when hoisted "Home" a Hawse hole is the covered deck opening in a smaller sailing vessel leading to the chain/rope locker where you would store your anchor chain/line! Also, the pronunciation is not like Canadians speak-eh, so not Haws-EH (A) pipe but simply HawZ pipe!
    I just heard something that makes my "Mariners" skin crawl as you mention working on your bowsprit and something you call a binnacle for the bow of the boat!!! A "Binnacle" is a piece of marine equipment that houses the compas and would never have anything to do with a bowsprit or the bow of a vessel AT ALL! I just watched that part instead of hearing it and I believe you refer to the cast bronze pad-eye band fitted over the tip of your bowsprit. That is correctly called a "Cranz Iron" sir and to which you attach your headstay, bobstay and bowsprit guys/stays.
    My credentials: Master Oceans, Steam, Motor & Sail, Master of Sail, Historic Ship Restoration, modern sail and tall ship Rigger and I would expect if I misnamed a part of a violin or pronounced it incorrectly that you would politely correct me, and I'd be only too happy to add that to my knowledge base.
    AGAIN, BRAVO on your Perfecto! She is a lovely gem of which I know you must be very proud and deservedly so!

    This is very impressive! I'm an amateur woodworker (never worked on any boat) and am dreaming of building a pocketship someday. Yours is coming along so beautifully!!

    Great boat! Mine is very "stock". These are great boats as much fun to build as they are to sail!

      JBratt hi! I saw your video about the texas 200 and really enjoyed it! I was wondering... How long did it took you to build the pocketship?? Im thinking about building one too.

    Did you build the boat on a larger scale or just make it a foot longer? Can you sail it in the ocean at all?

    • @scottw.hershey7616
      @scottw.hershey7616  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Made it a foot longer along with making the cabin sides higher and a larger foot well width. Also,

    How did you set up the jig for the louvered doors? I made some once and vowed never again.

    • @scottw.hershey7616
      @scottw.hershey7616  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      terrulian OMG, this is a major undertaking and too much to get into here. These are my second set of doors. The first set I made for my 24’ Cape Cod Catboat. Do some woodworking searches. I am sure there are post about this. 🤗⛵️

    Top notch craftsmanship on this beautiful pocket cruiser but Jaysus, that unfortunate ear splitting horrendous music jumping up & down in volume makes this unwatchable. Your talents would have been better served with just your narration. I never understood why people insist on background music in instructive videos. This isn't a drama that needs atmospheric mood music. I desperately hope you sorted this out in your part 2 video of this excellent build.
