Your attention to detail is recognized in your abilities as a carpenter as well as your videography. Awesome video and excellent work my friend. Hatd off to ya brother. Be proud you earned it! The sail was a perfect touch.
best video ever.Well done. Skin on framed kayaks and canoes were all there was when i was a kid.Growing up in Wales in the 60's.Percy Blandford being the main designer.Brings back memories
Marvellous! Greetings and appreciation from England. My grandfather was a cabinet-maker and the appreciation of wood (if not the capability to work it with skill) has been passed down to me. So I loved watching the deft way that things took shape, but particularly your measuring and marking first. It's not just a technical skill either - this work was a work of art. 'Measure twice, cut once' was one of my father's favourite maxims, and while its applicability to your work is questionable (I can see you don't need it) it's useful for me whenever I'm making anything. Thank You.
Fitting the ribs into the gunwales is reminiscent of the traditional method of building a Birch bark canoe. Great video, very enjoyable. I appreciate the craftsmanship.
Definitely like the idea of using the fiberglass more effectively than with the typical cedar strip canoe, but I got to say that was the smallest freeboard I've ever seen on a canoe. You are undoubtedly more experienced than I am, yet just watching you paddle got my heart in my throat.
Hi Rich these are pack canoes which are designed to be extremely lightweight and minimal. I use the same system to build much larger canoes as well. I should have a similar video for large canoes coming out soon
Absolutely stunning! Also Kudos for having one of the only videos on all of youtube showing someone gracefully entering or disembarking a kayak or canoe!
Thank you Brian for the whole series of videos over the past number of months on this canoe project. I bought the canoe course this past week and plan to build in the spring when our New England winter is over and I can take over half of the garage for a workshop. This fall I finished my first SOF canoe - a 13.5' 2-person double paddle design by Hilary Russell. Yours will be a solo packboat to take camping in the Adirondacks. Take Care, Wayne
Very well done construction and beautiful lines, your a master at your craft. Thank you for sharing your considerable talents with us who seek to learn the beautiful way of hand built boats that respond so well to the paddle and sail. So well done!
I built a car toppable row boat about ten years ago in my garage. I've regretted selling it, but now have a vintage cedar and canvass canoe. I have carved all of my own paddles. I been thinking about making a Geodesic boat for quite a while. They are skinned with heat shrinkable Dacron instead of fiberglass and epoxy resin, which makes them several pounds lighter. You have to pay attention to detail, but skin on frame is a great way to make a great water craft.
Hello Captain. The most awesome video i have ever seen. Congrats to you sir . We can see your passion and love in the finished product. .You product is awesome. .Because it is made with passion and love. $
What a breath of fresh air. So many of these videos stay way too long on each process, over explain and drag on for ages. This showed a process, moved on, all paced perfectly. Also nice, unobtrusive music. Could have watched more.
Hey Capt, just read your comment and thought you're the kind of guy that likes to watch people make stuff! :) I just started building a Stand Up Paddle board out of plywood you might like to watch! th-cam.com/video/hPWi1gfqZKI/w-d-xo.html Cheers, Aaron
That’s actually our friend Ant Mace at Underfall, who builds and teaches workshops using our designs. We highly recommend him! We’re located in the States.
I'm IN!!! I won't have time to get after it right away, but I've watched enough and didn't want too long and miss my Beta opportunity. Plan to build a pair for nesting and catting.
Very well done video, it's a pleasure to watch a video without the stupid music, and monologue. Simple well done, informative and a pleasure to watch, thank you sir.

It’s not a canoe, it’s a work of art! Nice
You are a true artist making that canoe . It's the best one I've ever seen being built step by stet . Keep on keeping on .
Perhaps one of the best filmed & edited vids I've seen. And you make the work seem easy. Well done.
Love it. You make it look easy, but we know just how much skill is involved. Well done.
This is a marriage of art and craft . Beautiful work .
There is poetry in this-what a smashing build!
Видно, что мастер делает свою работу с любовью. Приятное и познавательное видео.

Boat with sail is a thousands of year old technology. But one time have to be the first time seeing it.

This is easily best ever. You're absolutely nuts!! You should build a catamaran out of your kayaks
I've got a system to catamaran two canoes together - works great. You can see it in some of my other videos.
