This is what I love about these vlogs. Topics that no one else really covers and the facts most people have forgotten. It's amazing how all this history is right in front of people and they don't even know it. Adam is my favorite history teacher every day I learn something new. Thank you Adam and keep up the good work.

You're right, they had to be great movement actors, as there were no words to tell the story. They told a story with their bodies and their facial emotions..... much like wrestlers do in the ring.... they tell a story..... movement acting is a lost art.

Thanks Adam for doing this. I love Buster! I read a biography on him years ago and learned that he grew up in vaudeville in an act with his dad in which his dad basically threw him around the stage. That's where he learned the incredible stunts he was known for. They actually hurt but he was afraid of his dad so he kept doing it. He actually broke bones in his body, I think his neck, and only found out years later when he saw a doctor for something else!

Thank you for a porkpie hat tip to wonderful Buster Keaton. He produced more laugh out loud screen moments than anybody in my opinion. A doctor once asked him when did he break his neck. Buster had injured himself in a stunt to that degree and didn't realize it. And great of you to mention John Bengtson, who still researches silent film locations. They and classic Hollywood are just magic.

Great job. Love seeing this early Hollywood history. Another level of detail. In the shot with the Keaton alley as he Grabs the car. You can see reflected in the window on the left a building which I think still exits. It has the hexagonal corner facing out on the opposite side of the street alley.

Buster Keaton was one of my all time favorites with Harold Lloyd being a close #2 (The movie Safety First was a direct inspiration to Doc Brown hanging from the clocktower scene in Back to the Future.) Buster was known as the great stone face having learned he got bigger laughs if he stayed deadpan (Which in turn inspired other characters personality like Blue Man Group.) but he did get injured pretty badly in Sherlock Jr. where he fell from a water tower onto railroad tracks, breaking his neck, but not realizing it until years later. That's dedication to ones craft!
