Rita-Pon would also be my number one. I spent hours with this minigame and it never became boring. And the music is just perfect! I even searched for a standalone version some time ago, but sadly didn't find anything. :(
I'm happy to see all the Ritapon love in the comments. I wasn't expecting it to be so well liked. The rules are simple, the rounds are quick and the music is so good. It's great fun.
Ritapon is a god tier minigame. It's such a fun game. I do the exact same thing, I have a save file near the end of the game that I boot up every now and again just to play Ritapon.
Also, minigame notes by Yen: S2's fishing minigame music absolutely slaps Eikei's arena would be great in the remasters, I had no idea the sega saturn version had extra mini games Had NO IDEA at ALL about the mushroom/mint mini game. No idea it existed at all. Also didn't know the beyblade mini game existed. Concentration in 1 is both really satisfying and the worst thing in the universe. I love how satisfying it is when you get a match and it triggers more and more and you get a huge streak. But if you don't, it's IMPOSSIBLE to beat the timer score for recruiting him. It's taken me HOURS on some playthroughs. Theatre slaps, no notes. Except for Viki is great as anything. Rope game also slaps. Music is great, game is great, always end up spending more time than I meant to on it. The fact that you put ritapon at #1 blows my absolute mind. I hate it so much, but I also don't understand it at ALL so I just try to brute force it every playthrough to recruit her.
Eikei's arena would've been a really cool addition to the remasters. I'm still unsure why they decided not to include the Saturn content. It would've added a lot of extra fun for the fans. The mushroom vs mint war minigame is fun to play, but oh boy does it suck to trigger the minigame. You first have to cultivate them with a bunch of dialogue options, followed by a lot of waiting. You have to do that three times before the minigame can trigger. Looks like I'm not the only person who put Ritapon in first. There's a couple of others who commented that love it too. It's a great game once you learn it.
“No one wants to replay Suikoden 4” 🥲 I’ve replayed it countless times 😅; im also not mad at number 1, I also love that game! I ignored all the mini games in Suikoden 5, it took forever to get a base & then on top of it the navigation in the base (& towns in general) just made me not want to explore (every place was super elaborate & maze like, nevermind the annoying camera angle). So this was informational cause I was clueless about all of em but one.
@@trillxlauren I think Suikoden 4 is quite an easy game to replay because of how similarly bite sized it is to Suikoden 1. It's short and sweet, and there's not much of a time commitment in playing it. I loved the slowness of Suikoden 5 and how everything felt like it took forever to build up. It helped me get absorbed even more into the game. I agree some of the dungeons were maze like and it was annoying, especially the Deep Twilight Forest Ruins.
@CulganValya Agreed. I can't wait to replay V as I am looking forward to the formations of the skill system, but I must admit that the requirements for the 108 Stars and slowness of it has me worried as I am more into games in the 20 - 50 hour mark to 100% it.
It's a hidden gem, especially when I played Suikoden Tactics after that. A mind blowing experience on it's own. But still, the masterpiece for me is Suikoden II.
i spent half my playtime in S2 in fishing game. You can tell right away if a rare catch is coming, the difficulty pump up really fast, and the rage after it got away was triggering chain effect . Few more catch till it appears again, few more hours till i finally got it, few more days till i score bigger one. S2 fishing game is so much fun, simple yet polished, should be in top 10.
Over half your time in S2 playing fishing??? That's a lot of fishing! But we all have different tastes, and no fishing minigame will ever be anywhere near my top 10.
Hope we still can cheat at Guess the Cup (Suiko 1) in the new version, I always used to skip the boring money farming. Best one for me is Cooking Off of course and I don't hate Chinchirorin, actually I played it a lot in the castle, I guess most people hate it because it's attached to Tai Ho recruitment.
Fingers crossed the pattern in the cup game at Rockland will still exist in the remaster, it was such an easy way to build up early game money. Cook-Offs are top tier. I don't know of anyone that dislikes them. One of the greatest minigames ever made.
ya kno there were a few i just didnt know bout but thats mostly because i didnt explore all the minigames in the suikoden series so its interesting to see some of these. honestly though i really hate fishing minigames not just in suikoden but overall, so many jrpgs have fishing minigames and im just like mannnnn gimme something else like the fact that starocean 2 remake ADDED a fishing mini game to an already amazing game felt so not needed and bugged me a bit. that being said though Ritapon is fun its basically 2 player mahjong with a little bit more extra oomf and i like it, chinchorin in suikoden 1 n 2 is definitely among my favorite minigames the music and the bright colors in 1 n 2 keep me more interested in it than it does in suikoden 4
I used to absolutely despise fishing minigames. I had a burning hatred of them. I HATED it in Star Ocean Second Story R, too many good things were locked behind the fishing minigame and it sucked so much. These days I just completely ignore them unless there's something really good locked behind it and then I'll just shut my brain off and scroll on my phone while I do it without paying attention.
@@CulganValya thats exactly how i feel about them too, honestly it annoys me so much how there are some games that have some really good stuff locked behind it and i have to sit there and grind fishing n i just don't want to i hate fishing minigames. heck StarOcean 6 did a unique thing with Eso'wa (i think thats how its spelled) and that was so much fun, and bravely default II has a pretty cool card game, FF8 had triple triads, suikoden has all of these! theres just so much else that the fact that fishing minigames being in so many jrpgs just feels lazy to me (and obnoxious) lol
So, here I had found out that Saturn version had different minigames which reminded me. Any chance you will cover Suikogaiden games? I don't think they are included in the remaster.
I didn't have any issue with the spinning top game and I would say that it is one of the better Suikoden mini games. Edit: There is a better way to roll it up without hurting your hand.
Now that's not an opinion I hear often! I think the tops game had a lot of potential, I just didn't like it's implementation. What's the trick for rolling it up without hurting your hand? It's fine for awhile, but after a few rounds it gets tiring and sore.
@CulganValya I played IV last year (my game stopped working after the Obel Ruins though...) and at first I was stressing out over winding it up, but iirc there was a rhythm to it that made it easier to wind up. I am planning on playing it again soon potentially using an emulator if I can't get it working on my PS2 again and see if I was correct.
Because kabu isn’t blackjack. Speaking of which it shouldn’t be using a western deck. “51”? I didn’t get the name before but that’s actually my favorite. Wish I still had 4 just to play it some more.
I actually just read up on Kabu. It uses a completely different deck in real life. Something called a kabufuda deck, which looks cool. But the game is still ass. Fifty-One is a great game. Most people tend to overlook the Suikoden 4 minigames because of their dislike of the game itself.

Always nice to see another person love Suikoden as much as I do.
I do love Suikoden!
The cook off gotta #1... it has its own story arc!
I can certainly see it being most people's #1 pick.
Rita-Pon would also be my number one. I spent hours with this minigame and it never became boring. And the music is just perfect! I even searched for a standalone version some time ago, but sadly didn't find anything. :(

I keep a save where I can just play Ritapon when the mood strikes me. It also taught me how to play a real life tile game.
Ritapon is a god tier minigame. It's such a fun game. I do the exact same thing, I have a save file near the end of the game that I boot up every now and again just to play Ritapon.

It's here, gonna see it now.
Brazilian here, greetings 👀🤝
Hi!
Noahs & Rita's games so good, I made my own, even making some for other people too❤
Fifty-One and Ritapon are elite tier minigames. Two of my absolute favourites! You made your own versions of the games? That's awesome.
Yeah, I even made some for other people ❤

I find it very replayable as well. I think that people confuse a good game that could be better with a bad game.
@ agreed, I get ppl’s gripes about it but it is my second fave in the series & I found myself replaying it a lot.

First
17:20 into the video, none of these mini-games sound fun xD
Maybe some of the ones towards the top of the list might be more to your liking 😅

you better be streaming the remasters when they come out so i can come annoy you in chat.
I might stream it, I'm not sure yet. I'll probably get so sucked up in playing it that I forget to stream it.
❤❤❤❤❤

So, here I had found out that Saturn version had different minigames which reminded me. Any chance you will cover Suikogaiden games? I don't think they are included in the remaster.
I could do a Suikogaiden video. Did you have anything in particular in mind for it?

How long did it take you to reach the top spot without setting a new knot for this footage?
Made it that far on my second no knot attempt. I done a few safe runs where I placed knots, and I done a few risky runs without any knots.
