In case anyone has not tried this: you can "copy" from one drive "Get Info" --> click on the icon --> Cmd-C, then go to the other drive and do the same and Cmd-V. I found that the icons listed in the CoreServices directory are close but not exactly the same as the icons you would normally see. For some reason I lost all of my network mounted disk icons...no idea why. But copying and pasting put things back.
Drag and drop is nice, but works to with Command + I to open get info, and them command + v to past icon. Nice vídeo!!

You can drag any .png image you want onto the highlighted square in the upper left of the Get Info box.

question used to had my "hard drive grey icon" but suddenly changed to the yellow, and some folder wont open now! what couls cause this problem ?
