They look fabulous, Jessica. Great job! All you need is a hot cup of tea with those, + some chilli sauce as an extra dipping option - goes down a treat! 😋

Jessica... try to go with your guts instead of measuring... you will fail once or twice... but that's ok... even those measurement you are getting online arent the same which they use on their recipe... don't drop everything in the dish... put it one by one... you never know how spicy it will get for your taste... and also for making dough use little water/oil at a time and kneed it... if you feel you need more water/oil then add some more... those cup system doesn't work in this case 😇

10years ago I had a food business where we made 1000 samosas a day at 10 cents per piece. Our chef used to source the secret masala from Hari Ram from allahabad....best tasting masala. It is the cheapest snack for a young crowd. To get everything right is a magical process. You have done a commendable job on your first try. Congratulations.

So so so proud of you Jessica! Once you try a few more times, your samosas will taste better than the restaurants’. I somehow always prefer homemade samosas and they often form our Sunday brunch! Those looked super yummy! They usually pair very well with chai. In fact, for many Indians, the combo of chai, samosa, and jalebi is a staple Sunday breakfast or evening time snack. You can even throw them in the air fryer with little variation in taste. Meat samosas are not a thing in India. They are mostly found outside India. As always, lots of love 💗

It is time you try Kerala Food somewhere. There is Appam and Stew. If you get addicted to the taste of Appam and Stew, you would want to make them. You could eat the Kerala Stew with just the bread - the western bread, which you all eat. So a few TH-cam videos on Appam and stew or some videos of Davis's been here in Kerala will help

Samosa is also my favourite snacks. I'm not a perfect cook and not good in English 😁 but here are few suggestions -
    1. Practice and MISTAKES makes a man perfect. You have learned that always add water slowly slowly.
    2. Always mix the flour properly and take some more time to do this. Never stop just after the flour look like a dough. Mix it for some more time. It will be more soft.
    3. I think, For Samosa the potato should not mash completely. I think your filling was good but it migjt be little bit more hard.
    4. While preparing samosa use simple water to paste the edge of that dough.
Btw your Samosa is looking Yummy...mouth watering. 😋

  • @grgeMakingSense

That was a great attempt. Chutney is a dip. So you take the Samosa, dip into the chutney and eat. you generally don't take a spoon and pour the chutney into the samosa. What happens then is you drown the taste of the samosa. Hope this sounds convincing
