People have such strong opinions. There’s a difference between constructive criticism and just being rude. I am more a “move on if I don’t like it”. I clicked because I was curious. And one can learn a lot even if one doesn’t appreciate a certain recipe/ dish you can still learn lessons for other things. Thank you for this recipe it looks like something I’d like to try. And I’m inspired to use celery leaves in my crab cakes, too!

Yum! I love tinned fish in general, but especially tuna. I'm always looking for new ways to use it. Definitely trying this! Not only is it high in protein and other essential nutrients, it's affordable!

Don't know how it got started but my mom made tuna salad and rolled it in a pancake and topped with syrup for breakfast. It remains one of the strangest dish I saw her make and thought I would throw-up just looking at it. Surprisingly, it became a Saturday morning thing because it was actually delicious! No one else on this planet could have gotten me to try that. Dem Grenadians!! Circa 1982, Phoenix, AZ.. Perhaps it looks too much like bread and sap sold on the side of the theatre along with oysters...only dem wayward boys ate that. Lord have mercy on you if you were from a good family in Chaguanas and someone saw you eat that!!

I received a notification this morming for your Stewed Tuna. Mercy Mercy! This was best thing I've tasted in a long time. Cheap and Delicious! Definitely a keeper! I made a batch of rice and I couldn't get enough of it. I didn't have celery leaves so I used parsley and i added just a bit of salt. But you did your thing with this recipe. And the squeeze of lemon made it even more tasty. IT WAS AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Two of my favorite cooking channels featured tuna recipes recently so it must be a reminder for me to stock up the kitchen cupboard. Canned tuna is a great way to add protein to a quick weekday meal.

Chris I love tuna stew. I make this all the time and I eat it with rice or roti or fried green plantains and it's delicious. Continue making all the great food. Have to use solid tuna not chunk though.

There’s an ex pro bodybuilder in my gym who is scared to walk down the tin food aisle in the supermarket now. Back in the day he lived entirely on cans on tuna but he would just eat it plain…sometimes straight out of the can until he reached a point where even thinking about it makes him sick. Trust me…I had a tuna sandwich in front of him and he almost fainted.
Chris…they don’t know about all this curry tuna and stew tuna business lol my personal favourite is do some fish cakes with some mango chutney on the side. It’s a simple thing you can do a lot with for sure.

The reason I drain out the water is to kind of avoid the preservative and not cook it. What do you think of that?

This dish looks so good! But I'm allergic to fish (FML) so I will probably substitute the tuna with chicken or shrimp. 😊

Didn't get the name of the root your grandmother used. Will this work with salmon? Like the seasoning.

No absolutely not. If you put salmon in this a portal to the shadow realm opens up and poof the whole dish is gone. Used to happen to me all the time until I figured out that recipes have to be followed to the letter and even slight changes like swapping one ingredient for a very similar alternative unbalances the universe and angers the Gods.

I don't see anything wrong with this. No abundance of ingredients, and those that were used work well together. The vegetables did most of the stewing beforehand so the tuna just needed to get incorporated and didn't turn to mush. I'm thinking about putting this on pasta along with some mozzarella & pecorino and giving it a quick bake in the oven.
