@@brtd8782 The French flag disappeared so quickly because there was an ongoing battle about the pixels. And once the french could not repair the new pixels it was over quickly. If they used bots or not is irrelevant. Also after their flag got destroyed some French streamers with 400k+ viewers targeted the osu! logo to destroy it and write the letters France or something. And again 400k+ placing pixels you cant repair makes 9000 pixel logo disappear quickly. And against the bot accusations: other osu! artworks turned white at similiar pace as the rest of canvas.

I'M confused as to why ppl hate osu so much? Like what's the reason? I'm genuinely curious, I was there defending the OSU logo while it was being raided and such. It was pretty cool how everyone came together to fix the logo. There were a heck ton of people in the discord call working together to try and fix it. I've been playing osu for about a year and I still have no clue why people hate us so much. We just play rhythm games lmao

i was there, watching all of this unfold, watched 3 streams at the same time (mizkif, btmc, xqc)all of this happening for 3 hours and 30 mins, but the osu thing happened for about an hour 30-40 mins?,we protected hololive,they attacked us, i THINK rainbow road helped us actually and we literally got nuked 7 times, i counted and on april 1 we got nuked 4 times, btmc and xqc joining the vc and talking was pretty funny, they took dean down but we got it back, so they stopped attacking us, it was literally history, probably one of the best days i had,(and the osu community, we never botted, btmc had 850 people to be exact in the vc to place down there overlay for the pixels and then the rest of the stream placed down the pixels so it was REALLY coornidated)

Two things to learn from all of this:
1 - It's really easy to escalate things out of proportion out of mere misunderstandings.
2 - The internet is filled with idiots that can't even wear their pants properly on their own, but are quick to send "death threats" over the silliest things, even though in reality they're scared of even staring at themselves in a mirror.
I guess you could say the internet has truly diverse people. One you can see people collaborating and communities coming together to form a beautiful piece of work that has historical significance of the overall internet culture and just having fun, and the other extreme is taking this too seriously that it ultimately ruins the fun
(Ngl I thought xQc was toxic but then I realized that that’s probably just his internet persona and he’s just doing the destruction thing just to make r/place even more interesting and fun. It was truly cool seeing people doing wars and protecting their things for fun interaction and seeing random dots of void just appearing and expanding and disintegrating was surely a surreal thing to see. Wish I could join there next 5 years lol)

The best way to think about r/place is like a massive sandcastle that everyone can contribute to and each community as a person
Then there's these types of streamers who basically just kick the sandcastle for no reason when some of these people cannot defend or aren't able to remake their original part of the sandcastle

Some communities are small and don't really have the manpower to rebuild what they initially had made(which is why people form alliances). I imagine it as all the communities making a mural of sorts then xqc comes in and splashes paint on 1/4 of the mural, good thing that the people that have the manpower to rebuild can rebuild, but I do feel bad for those that can't
