- In this video, I recount the entire history of r/place, which was a social experiment done by Reddit on April 1, 2022. A lot of Among Us jokes are imminent. This video took me 2 months because of all the editing that I had to do.

@@ara9914 Yes, i know. We allied with the french flag pretty early on. Not the huge ego one on the left lower corner of the last expansion, that was a french streamer thing, but the official french one (much smaller than the streamer fans) who made the "Arte" logo with us.

As a reminder the majority of the big French streamers participate in Zevent, which makes the streamers communicate with each other and are active.

France hade it easy. We were attacked constently till from the begining till the very end. Ukraine Flag, Purple Blob, The "Cum"met, etc. It was a hard fight.
To be fair, this is a group of terminally online nerds, not a bunch of politicians, so they're automatically less toxic and capable of working together.
And while the rest of the world unite against the french, the french united to end climate change, social problems, ect in a yearly event called the Z event
The fact that they even tried to fight almost ALL THE REDDITORS OF FRANCE in the first place is kinda amazing.

they better bring r/place back next year and make the canvas almost thrice as big, documentation of the possible 'war' will be even more chaotic, but every second of this video had me at the edge of my seat with everything going on all over the place.

found this on my recommended, and feel like i oughta chime in for the Splatoon community.
we were wiped out not once, but twice over by two different sources, who were both streamers. each time we replanted ourselves in a new spot, and we ended in the bottom-left corner practically next door to France, where we also risked annihilation but still stayed until the end. we also managed to get an octopus and a golden egg up near the giant lemon! we weren’t the biggest, but we fought hard. we lost a couple times, but we for sure ending with our own special place on the canvas.

Dude, this was such a great video! I remember watching r/place when the streamers took over, and the editing and all the history was correct, this was great, you just gained a sub
I am honestly very proud of the French for being a part of our alliance. The arte Pixel Art was also pretty neat.
Here's the thing: There were actually 2 different french groups. The 'official' group that organized through discord and reddit, allying with Germany early on. And the streamer fans that followed that wannabe Napoleon on twitch, partly leaving the first group. Official french group was all good and organized and had nothing to do with the streamer french, that only came at the last expansion. Unfortunately, when that streamer war began, the muricans also attacked the official french flag. The german group (also organized through reddit and discord WITH german streamers that got their names on the german flags approved) had to stop what they were doing and to help save the original french flag that was bordering to us.
@@olgahein4384 actually the french streamer was present at the end of the 1st day but wasn't doing France stuff. The big flag started when all of french streamer decided to do something as a group. And since Kamet0 was already here and already known by ibai and other spanish streamer it was him that went doing negociation.
Also everytime the french flag or german flag of officials sub reddit were attacked he sent some viewers at least help to put back the colors so pixel art could be rebuild quicker.
@@olgahein4384 I just found out about this r/place event and i have to say its a pretty awesome thing. And next time i will definitely take part in it. But this French/American-Spanish war was a bit to much for my taste. Some people took that way to seriously. So much they start insulting each other in youtube comments. Bring up how many wars thier country won in history and how great they are. Things that are not even related to this whole thing. I know, its the internet, but some people uff. Why cant people just have some fun. I have to say that the french flag in the corner was, lets say a bit ambitious. I did not needed to be that big, but on the other hand they managed to held it upright and thats the rules. And thats is also the interesting part, what is possible and what not.
The German stuff was awesome, i saw the video from Mango and thats how i found out. Dude i could not belive something like that existed and i had to laugh a lot. All these funny interactions between neighbouring communitys were just amazing. The Belgian beer that the Bundesadler drank. Really cool stuff and great to see how random people can organize and ally to create and protect something together.

I was with the One Piece community throughout the whole thing, and we had a great relationship with France. France actually gave us a large portion of their flag so we could do some of our art on there, so when France was being attacked, us One Piece fans would help out. r/place was super fun, hope they do it again this year

I'm honestly just mad at the reddit mods for censoring NSFW work imagine how many peoples work was destroyed because the reddit mods are so sensitive they seemingly think that R/place has to be family friendly which honestly is extremely idiotic.

It was so fun looking back at this. I was a part of the "gacha game alliance" which was just a bunch of gacha game subreddits drawing their logo's next to each other. There was actually quite a bit of cross-community infighting going on there. Primarily in groups not following the agreed upon blueprint and some games practicing coexistence with other projects while others overtook third parties entirely. I wasn't even paying attention to france because i was too busy helping fend off the void, which was a pretty universal fight.
This was a great vid it deserves love your the goat chaze.
1:36: Myth's void in the lower left also didn't have a great time. They tried to expand into the To Be Continued sign, not realising that those guys were allied to the Germans. Myth's own twitch comment section got promptly invaded and occupied by them in response.
Germany really was kind of the overpowered anime protagonist of this whole thing. You either made friends with 'em, got out of their way or got rolled over as they built their two Autobahns across the canvas and allied with most of the groups bordering them.
3:23: That's *Belgiums* flag. Horizontal Black-Red-Gold = Germany; Vertical Black-Gold-Red = Belgium
Well, the german streamers became part of the official german group. We were organized. We had charts. We had shifts. And we had better artworks. Unlike the french who mostly followed that wannabe Napoleon streamer and just ignored the official french group, that allied with us. That's why we only defended the official french flag that bordered ours and completely ignored whatever was happening to that bottom left stuff. Not our allies, not our problems.
PS: We also occupied the live chat of EVERY streamer who thought it's a nice idea to mess with our allies or to draw stuff on our flag that didn't get approval from the group. That includes several of those US streamers, especially XQC. Maybe they got frustrated and hence went for that streamer alliance against the french streamer at the last day (they gave up on us on the first days).

You should make a video about the more smaller "battles" and defences of r/place. A lot of the indie game communities setup an entire alliance to defend their spots.

Nope, it was actually one dumb french streamer with a Napoleon complex (that united a bunch of other french streamers and all their communities) vs. a bunch of american streamers who were already hella frustrated cause they all had to admit in front of Germany (cause the german streamers and their community were part of the official german r/place union, while the french streamers were doing their own thing and ignored the official french r/place group - who allied with Germany and Belgium and all of our allies).
i remember getting pissed at turkey trying to cover up hornets needle and then they proceeded to vandalize hornet herself

Hi, from the Turkish community. We carried out the conflict between OSU and xQc to remake our flag; we planned it all.
It's funny because.
One : The screen R Place as the French Flag.
Two : The satff of the RPlace left only the white color at the end, which caused the white void.
Sooo your videos was very good.
A lot of the small wars not talked about were so interesting. There was a feud between the UK and the trans flag, until they came up with an agreement and I found stuff like that so interesting to see what had happened
