I actually got a Qanba: Drone years ago because of a review of it on this channel and it has worked wonders ever since! Really happy I went through with buying it.
I see a lot of parallels in fight sticks with custom mechanical keyboards. There's so many parts out there and so much room for customization and personal preference. Having a good entry level guide is super important and your stuff is always great. Thanks for the video!
As someone just getting into fighting games, it is very important that this video is still on the internet. Very informative and well made. Thank you so much!
In brazil it's much cheaper to make your own, the cheapest one on this list is mayflash F300, doesn't sell here in brazil and we have to import it costs 5x to 7x more than it costs to make one.
I just found your channel a couple of days ago, I ordered a RAP N to finally motivate myself to learn the games I have (SFV, Skullgirls, and FighterZ) so I’m so happy to see you’re posting videos again.
I bought an F300 because of you and it was an amazing purchase! It's taken awhile to get used to switching from a PS4 controller, but I'm glad I made the switch. I did have to make one minor adjustment to the F300, however. I can not play well using the lever in my left hand so I rotated the PCB so that I can hold the F300 upside down and use the lever in my right hand (I got the idea from one of your older videos). This DRASTICALLY improved my experience since I'm used to making precise movements with a mouse when on a PC while my fingers stay relatively still on WASD. Playing "upside down" is fantastic and the F300 was super easy to modify to allow this to happen. So you've actually helped me twice now! Thanks!!
Hey man! I want to return to the oh so fun SF4 while also transitioning to a fight stick. Because of this I have been binge watching your videos and they are SO helpful. Your aesthetics, graphics, and explanations are of high quality. It is also wholesome how you reply to every comment and help others out. I wish you from the bottom of my heart all the success in the world, truly a gem of a channel. A hug from Peru 💙.
Hey man, thanks so much for making these videos. I post these videos to our discord and facebook group often to try and help our FGC members to grow as players.
I upgraded to a mayflash f500 this year. Pretty good, has a compartment to store the cable and you can customize the artwork. I slapped a hajime no ippo art on it. Looks pretty sick.
@@el_brigliadeipoveri7344 XB360 apparently requires specific hardware for Mayflash controller compatibility. You should contact them to confirm setup or watch the setup videos on their youtube channel. Usually, all you have to do is plug a controller into the USB port at the front of the fightstick and then turn the controller on. For my PS5 for example, I could connect a PS4 controller to the open USB port on the fightstick, then connect the fightstick USB cable to the PS5, and then hit the PS button on the PS4 controller to turn it on so it's recognized by the console. For ease of use and keeping it relevant, I picked up the Mayflash MAGIC-Ultimate wireless adapter which replaces the need for an original controller entirely and allows me to plug in only the fightstick to the console.
A couple of months back I picked up an 8bitdo stick on sale for around $50. The reviews on this channel were some of the best on TH-cam. Ended up going back to using a hori fighting commander regularly, but I still use the 8bitdo from time to time. Glad to see you post videos again!
The Hori fighting commander is one of the best fighting pad controllers. What I like about the controller is that it works for the PS3, PS4, and PC without the need to connect a controller to a PlayStation controller like some arcade stick controllers.
Welcome back! I really enjoy your mod videos and recommendations. I've been trying out different sticks in my Mayflash and your tutorial made it super easy to swap the parts in and out!
I really appreciated finding such a well made and simply put video when I decided to search for "best budget fight sticks". Thank you for putting the effort in to make such a helpful video for beginners. I am really looking forward to exploring this new interest and hobby!
@@JoystickNY I have already got my hands on it, I am really impressed! For the value I can't believe it offers that much! For a casual player like me I can't point any cons!

I found your channel from the 8BitDo stick and I'm so glad I did! I like your energy and I'm probably picking up the 8BitDo thanks to your video. I have never used a fight stick ever and I plan to because I've gotten into GG Strive! Looking forward to more content from you. Have a great day/evening.
Almost a year after I watch this video I got the 8bit arcade stick and I've never been happier to have it. Thank you for reviewing fight sticks. Keep up the awesome work
Thank you so much for all your informative videos. I found your channel long ago through your video on different fight stick buttons and levers (comparing Seimitsu, Sanwa and Hori) when I was choosing my own fight stick. I ended up owning multiple fight sticks to switch between using Sanwa with ball top and Korean levers with battop.
Thanks for the video, man. I'm a noob who's getting in with KoF XV, and some inputs are hard to do with my gamepad and I find them near impossible to do with the analog stick. I'm really looking forward to the experience with a proper stick that I can use with my whole hand.
I know this video is old but I bought the hori mini while deployed in Okinawa. I found it at a hard off book off for a good price so I bought it. It still works and does the job. For the price I love it.
I bought the Mayflash F300 awhile back because of your recommendation. It’s easy to mod and I used your Mod video to mod mine into a Dreamcast HKT7300 stick clone. I call my mod the Mayflash F7300, I changed the buttons to Sanwa Buttons & Lever.

Im looking to upgrade now as i wanna collect a few more more advanced ones or more better built sticks to get the most out of my experiences. That's not to say the mayflash hasnt done this for me at all, i highly recommend the mayflash, but as of now i definitely want to find a stick with a detatchable cable
I’ve recently found your channel trying to start my journey on mastering the fight stick and I have to say you’ve helped me a lot Thank you so much and keep up the work!
Greatly appreciate your content! I used to play at the arcades way back and now I've shifted entirely to consoles but man, playing fighting games on a console controller doesn't allow me to play to my potential! So this guide came in perfectly handy! Kuddos on your channel, you've gained a new follower!
Regarding this muscle memory/2nd nature thing....I was a pretty good Street Fighter player back in the days when I was a young kid. I'm in my 40s now and recently bought my first arcade stick (the 8bitdo one). Initially it was a total disaster. I couldn't even consistently doing fireballs/uppercuts. I thought I did all the things exactly like how I did them when I was a kid but the moves just wouldn't come out consistently. I was starting to wonder if I was too old to be still good at stuff like this. I was about to give up but still tried to play 1 hour or 2 a day (mostly SSF2X) and make sure if I really lost it. After 2 weeks, I gained my old skills back. Two months later I felt like a pro. If you haven't touched an arcade stick for like 20-30 years, I suppose that your muscle memory requires some correction. And I believe it's actually harder for a player like me to make adjustment because we were so used to how certain moves should be executed in our somehow distorted, unreliable memories. So don't give up too fast if you just bought your first stick and didn't feel right about it. In worst case, just practice like you knew nothing about the game. It will only get better. It's a lot more satisfying to play fighting games on a stick than a pad. If you are using Retroarch, turn on runhead. 2-3 frames is a good value for fighting games. SSF2X or KOF9X plays like a dream this way. You'll have 2-3 more frames to react LOL.
i was in the same boat! also 40 and loved arcades in the 80s and 90s but the last 20 years i always played new console games with a controller but recently got into mame and trying to play all these old games i loved and im so so bad, but its been a few weeks and ive noticed my reaction times and the feel of using a stick has gotten better. its like riding a bike, just takes a bit to get the hands and brain to remember.
Thanks for the deliberate and informative video! This is probably the best fight stick breakdown/buying guide that I have seen for 2021, I'll definitely be referencing this if I ever decide to get a stick.
I purchased the Etokki Omni K Stick Version earlier this year which is my first stick and I am still giving this video a watch gotta have a J stick as well with my K stick.
You helped me a lot when I started looking into arcade sticks. Bought the Mayflash F500 Elite as my very first stick and I‘m still so happy I made that purchase! :)
@@lexiswired Yeah, it works the same way the f300 does. But it‘s sturdier/heavier and has allaround better build quality (as far as I know). It‘s easier to mod as well, since you can change the artwork if you like. The „Elite“ come with Sanwa stick and buttons (same for f300)
Funnilly enough regarding that car analogy, since 2018 US law requires that all new cars have a backup camera. Don't let a car dealer sell you a feature that is required on ALL cars!
Finally New video~ :) Thank you again for the 8bitdo arcade Stick review! Got 2 8bitdo arcade Sticks for PC!. Love the Wireless feature! I was worry that the USB might get confused with having 2, but it didn't. The USB dongle only worked with the 8bitdo arcade stick that came with it, so it was good!
Thank you very much for answering our question about Qanba Drone Korean Lever combo. In my POV, I guess it is more practical to go with a mid grade stick if a player wants some very goods parts to start up with. You led me to a right path.
I bought the Quanba drone (blazblue edition) as you suggested and I am very thankful for that because I get to enjoy fighting games again. Keep up the goodwork!
i use the 8bitdo for a couple of months now, it feels pretty good so far. majority of the parts are easy to take apart for quick fix and modding, reccomended for entry level in my opinion
I got the 8Bitdo since I love my SN30 pro and M30 controllers. There is a bit of a learning curve. I never used one before. I was thinking about getting the Hori fight stick, since I love my Fighting Commander.
I have the sn30 pro, m30 and arcade stick pro (all sanwa parts) and I love it. Especially with the capcom fighting collection on Steam. I’ve been tearing Vampire Savior up!
this guy is actually a beast like i didnt know ANYTHING about arcade sticks before i watched this video but after it i straight up knew which path i should chose , thank you man ( btw you earnd a sub)
Other than a few exceptions like the X-Arcade, these arcade panels always seem to use the convex buttons vs. the US-style concave, not really a deal breaker but I've always preferred the feel of concave buttons as it's more nostalgic for me.
Been interested in arcade sticks for a while now and your videos have been a great resource in figuring out where to start. Thanks for all the great videos.
I found your videos 3 months ago and by that time you disappeared but i still brought a fight stick and made a htibox! Just wanted to say you're videos are so helpful and really inspired me to use a stick. Thanks!
I’ve always wanted a controller with a d pad and stick on one side and arcade stick buttons on the other, my wrist can’t play a normal arcade stick for long periods of time, so I’m glad to see so many new controllers to accommodate all styles.
Finally got my first Arcae stick after getting back into Tekken 7. Can't wait to receive it. I've gone for the Mayflash F300 after watching your review.
I recently got an 8bitdo arcade stick and love it out of the box, ordered sanwa buttons and stick to switch out with. Love it. Will probably get Qanba Drone.
Got a Mayflash F300 to get into fighting games with Guilty Gear Strive. Happy with my purchase so far ! Your channel is really good. Keep up the good work !
This video was so helpful! I’m just getting into Street Fighter and was interested in getting an arcade stick! With your video I decided to pick up an F300!
So good. Thank you for the logical and straightforward advice. Going with your recommendation for the F300. I'm starting from near 0% muscle memory outside of arcade button mashing and going to try to 'git gud' at SF6 🙃
an older video of you helped me a lot finding my Arcade Stick. In the end i chose the Hori RAP N 4 Hayabusa. I loved this thing and it even works on the PS5 and I love rocking it in Guilty Gear Strive. Project L, DNF Duel, come what ever may... I'm ready.
might as well watch this even though i already have my 8bitdo stick. also very much was thinking am i gonna regret getting the 8bitdo, and hearing the need for a seperate controller to be plugged in to the f300 very much made it obvious to me that i made the right choice for me in my situation.
I just got my first stick. Bought the mayflash f300 because of you review. I think next with be the hori stick once I get better. Thanks for the awesome content.
I would love to see a video on applying art and customization to the fight stick, what the creative process is like. Keep it up man, as someone who’s making the jump from controller to stick, your videos are extremely detailed and welcoming! I’ll stay in tuned for your next one!
I just got the nacon daija half price new. Amazing stick. I know on release lag was an issue. But the update patch brings it inline with the best sticks.
I modded my HORI Hayabusa Tekken 7 Arcade Stick for Xbox One w/ Octo-gate and Sanwa Buttons. I use the Brook Converter to use it for PS3 and PS4. I LOVE IT. Tempted to get a second stick for Playstation but I don't need it. If anyone is thinking about getting and modding a stick, DO IT. It's so much fun owning a stick that you've modded to fit your style.
Found your channel whilst doing research for a new arcade stick. Love your enthusiasm! Your videos give clear, precise information and were extremely helpful. Ended up buying a Mayfash F500 Elite.
Glad you're back! You actually convinced me to buy the 8bitdo on your review a few months ago, it's an amazing upgrade from my previous PXN-0082 and Hori Mini :D
I bought the drone a few weeks ago had an Amazon gift card so paid only like 10 buck I liked the size and look. Transition to learning actually was pretty quick. I just modded for the first time for silent buttons to not annoy my GF lol I’m loving it modding was easy and my GF is a graphic designer so she’s designing a vinyl for me to place on it. I've been using arcade sticks for years now and am pretty proficient at them. And yet I've still binge watched all your videos, they are just so well made and informative. So where did you go man? I need more videos 😭
I own the pxn stick and I like it. I bought it cause it was on sale for half the price of the mayflash f300 and the mayflash was out of stock. I enjoy it and don’t mind the inability to customize since I don’t ever plan on going that crazy on a fight stick anyways.
Brilliant explanation. Easy to follow. Thank you! I just bought two Mayflash for me and my son for the PC. Works excellent. Stick is a bit loose to my liking but we're having so much fun and no issues. 🤙
I bought the Mayflash F300 a few days ago and so far all I've really done is swap out the square gate with the octagonal gate. I do plan on upgrading it down the line though.
Subscribed The information from this video is precious and was a great intro for someone who is brand new to fight sticks. I love fighting games (BlazBlue, Tekken, KoF, Samurai Showdown) and always played on controller. I've decided to pick up the Mayflash f500 because it allows room for upgrading and customizing and It'll help me figure out what my preferences may be in the future. Great video

To help 🙏❤️
Thanks for this vidéo. Straight to the point no gimmick no usefull music and proper pictures too.
Appreciate the support ❤️🙏
Funnilly enough regarding that car analogy, since 2018 US law requires that all new cars have a backup camera. Don't let a car dealer sell you a feature that is required on ALL cars!
Finally New video~ :) Thank you again for the 8bitdo arcade Stick review!
Got 2 8bitdo arcade Sticks for PC!.
Love the Wireless feature!
I was worry that the USB might get confused with having 2, but it didn't.
The USB dongle only worked with the 8bitdo arcade stick that came with it, so it was good!
Thats a good to know, i would probably have the same question if i had 2, 😊 happy you are enjoying it ❤️
How is it holding up?
@@iXiTeZz Still Good and works well! :)
Happy to hear that, and happy to help 🙏❤️ that edition has a nice artwork 👍🕹
i use the 8bitdo for a couple of months now, it feels pretty good so far. majority of the parts are easy to take apart for quick fix and modding, reccomended for entry level in my opinion
👍🕹 thank you
I got the 8Bitdo since I love my SN30 pro and M30 controllers.
Thank you so much 🙏
Other than a few exceptions like the X-Arcade, these arcade panels always seem to use the convex buttons vs. the US-style concave, not really a deal breaker but I've always preferred the feel of concave buttons as it's more nostalgic for me.
I used to love concave too, over time the japanese parts came over and i got used to it
just wanted a good 8bitdo review learned a lot and now im binging all of ur videos, keep doing great work man, much love for ur work
He has returned!
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
So happy to see your videos again. I bought a Hori Rap N after watching your earlier videos. Been enjoying it so much on SF4 and SOR4.
I think you have the best tutorial videos and product guides for fighting games on TH-cam. Thank you :)
I really appreciate your kind words❤️🙏, i wish i have more time, life and work sometimes doesnt allow me to create 😭
the return!! welcome back
Thank you friend 🙏❤️
Been interested in arcade sticks for a while now and your videos have been a great resource in figuring out where to start. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thank you, happy to hear it helps 😊
I found your videos 3 months ago and by that time you disappeared but i still brought a fight stick and made a htibox! Just wanted to say you're videos are so helpful and really inspired me to use a stick. Thanks!
Nice, which one do you like better? Hitbox or stick? 😊
@@JoystickNY Right now it's stick! I find getting used to jumping incredible difficult on hitbox, but my inputs in SF5 and GGS is very clean now.
Thats good 👍🔥
That is it! Thank you man ! I have choose the 8bitdo to be my First fighting stick! This Video help me alot! Best regards from Germany!
Thank you and enjoy ❤️🙏
I’ve always wanted a controller with a d pad and stick on one side and arcade stick buttons on the other, my wrist can’t play a normal arcade stick for long periods of time, so I’m glad to see so many new controllers to accommodate all styles.
I have seen custom sticks like that; maybe someday a company would release one
Finally got my first Arcae stick after getting back into Tekken 7. Can't wait to receive it. I've gone for the Mayflash F300 after watching your review.
Thank you so much for the support
I recently got an 8bitdo arcade stick and love it out of the box, ordered sanwa buttons and stick to switch out with. Love it. Will probably get Qanba Drone.
same, i just ordered a sanwa stick and buttons for it today as well
One is enough 😅❤️🕹
Enjoy my friend ❤️🙏
I got 8bit do for Nintendo, and want Qanba Drone for ps3/ps4.
Both for 2 players on pc.
I'm a simple man, I see a new JoyStickNY video - I watch the video.
I really like how you explain all the little features and parts. Your voice is also really soothing. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, i will keep doing my best🙏❤️
The best Arcade Stick related channel :) Thanks for the new content
Got a Mayflash F300 to get into fighting games with Guilty Gear Strive. Happy with my purchase so far !
Your channel is really good. Keep up the good work !
thank you for the support 🙏❤️
This video was so helpful! I’m just getting into Street Fighter and was interested in getting an arcade stick! With your video I decided to pick up an F300!
Very articulate, enthusiastic and informed. Looking forward to shopping around now and reigniting my arcade gaming addiction!
Thank you for watching❤️
I'm ready.
Great choice 🕹👍
might as well watch this even though i already have my 8bitdo stick. also very much was thinking am i gonna regret getting the 8bitdo, and hearing the need for a seperate controller to be plugged in to the f300 very much made it obvious to me that i made the right choice for me in my situation.
I got an Obsidian and I LOVE it. Such a good stick. I bought a hitbox and use that now but still love my old Obsidian. Such a good stick.
That is the #1 stick in tornaments
Thank you. I'm going with the Mayflash F500 Elite. It's really an amazing price for all that it can do.
Enjoy it my friend
I can't tell you enough how perfect this video was for me.
Appreciate you
Clear and concise. Great video to help people who want to get into fight sticks
Appreciate you
I just got my first stick. Bought the mayflash f300 because of you review. I think next with be the hori stick once I get better. Thanks for the awesome content.
Thank you and enjoy ❤️🙏
I would love to see a video on applying art and customization to the fight stick, what the creative process is like. Keep it up man, as someone who’s making the jump from controller to stick, your videos are extremely detailed and welcoming! I’ll stay in tuned for your next one!
Thank you for the support 🙏❤️
I just got the nacon daija half price new. Amazing stick. I know on release lag was an issue. But the update patch brings it inline with the best sticks.
Finally! I really like your videos bro. Short, simple and detailed. This how you review arcade sticks and controllers. Keep it up
Thank you so much 🙏
Yes! Thank you for coming back. Starting last week I've been looking at getting a fight stick!!
Hope it helps 🙏❤️
Nice vid man. I was silly in buying my 8bitdo instantly without research but after seeing this I'm now content lol. Thnx again.
I have the Victrix Guile Arcade stick and I'm loving it.
I have a Mayflash F500 that I upgraded with sanwa buttons and a crown lever, has been working great for me for years.
Great stick for great price , great value 👍🕹
Thank you, glad you enjoy it 🙏❤️
Update?
Love the professional and informative content on your channel. I just recently discovered your channel, but I am already a fan.
Been waiting for this video forever
Thank you for your patience 🙏❤️
I just saw the video and let me tell u i like ur content it’s so freaking good and I subbed !!😎
Appreciate the support 🙏❤️thank you
I bought the drone a few weeks ago had an Amazon gift card so paid only like 10 buck I liked the size and look. Transition to learning actually was pretty quick.
I just modded for the first time for silent buttons to not annoy my GF lol I’m loving it modding was easy and my GF is a graphic designer so she’s designing a vinyl for me to place on it. Your videos helped me decide thank you glad yo see you posting
Good to see you back again.. Mayflash f500 elite was my choice.. Have everything what i need.. Quality build n all sanwa parts.. Very recommended fightstick
Excellent stick for excellent value 👍🕹 thank you 🙏
Good to have you back. Your Videos where very important when i started last year with a 8Bitdo. Since then it escalated qickly and a have two Custom Builds and a JF Micro. 😁
I already have several sticks and a hitbox but I still watched, love this channel !
thank you for the support 🙏❤️
I've been using arcade sticks for years now and am pretty proficient at them. And yet I've still binge watched all your videos, they are just so well made and informative. So where did you go man? I need more videos 😭
I am still here, been busy with work lol, i will be back very soon, need to organize my room 🙏❤️
I own the pxn stick and I like it. I bought it cause it was on sale for half the price of the mayflash f300 and the mayflash was out of stock. I enjoy it and don’t mind the inability to customize since I don’t ever plan on going that crazy on a fight stick anyways.
Very reasonable choice 👍🕹
He's finally back!!!!!!!!!! I'm a pad player, but this content is just soooooo good, for real
thank you so much 😊🙏
I literally just pre-ordered the Tank Stick Max releasing in June. Thanks for the great review.
Brilliant explanation. Easy to follow. Thank you!
I just bought two Mayflash for me and my son for the PC. Works excellent. Stick is a bit loose to my liking but we're having so much fun and no issues. 🤙
thank you for watching 🙏❤️ enjoy, and maybe buy some new parts in the future and do a little mod side project with your son.
This is such a great video! I've always wanted to buy an arcade stick so this video was very helpful!
I bought the Mayflash F300 a few days ago and so far all I've really done is swap out the square gate with the octagonal gate. I do plan on upgrading it down the line though.

The information from this video is precious and was a great intro for someone who is brand new to fight sticks.
I love fighting games (BlazBlue, Tekken, KoF, Samurai Showdown) and always played on controller.
I've decided to pick up the Mayflash f500 because it allows room for upgrading and customizing and
It'll help me figure out what my preferences may be in the future.
Great video
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
I’ve had several sticks and settled on mixbox, still love watching vids like this
Thank you so much for the support 🙏❤️
