And I think that's part of the reason why newer players are gravitating that way (they are more likely to have some experience with WASD / PC gaming, so it may just be more intuitive). There are also some cool little shortcuts and such you can do which makes them slightly more optimal over joysticks imo. At the end of the day, it's whatever is most comfortable/fun though. They are all functionally the same as standard sticks and all-button controllers. So, yes, there hasn't been a victory by someone with a wild custom controller to my knowledge, but using a wild custom controller doesn't automatically preclude you from winning. (but a lot of people don't necessarily care about winning, and just want to have a good time, so these controllers might be geared toward more of the fun atmosphere and not the hyper-competitive, must-win atmosphere). Hitbox's marketing and a lot of misinformation being spread has also done a lot of damage a well. Thanks for your perspective! I get what you're saying and I'm obviously a huge fan of traditional fightsticks as well. Thanks for your perspective! I get what you're saying and I'm obviously a huge fan of traditional fightsticks as well. I think K-lever enthusiasts are helping to hold the torch since that experience is so different to leverless, and then things like the Antagonist button also arguably help to keep things competitive for joysticks (though it didn't really catch on quite like I thought it might). And even though they've lost some ground, I don't think that traditional fightsticks are going away anytime soon. There were still tons of sticks in the Evo finals. So, fingers crossed we'll see a sizeable percentage of sticks in the years to come!
@@HushMySweet1 i will never accept any one calling a hitbox or mix box a stick there is no stick. they also allow the user to manipulate directional inputs to do certain things with incorrect inputs even with socd cleaning. none of them should be tournament legal
POOR CIRNO FUMO
some of these controllers are..yikes...
lol, but even the cursed ones had a lot of heart, I felt. Thanks for watching!
Hit box are cheats
lol, the future is now, old man. (Really though, the floodgates are open and these devices are currently allowed in every manner of fighting game tournament with several all-button brands actually sponsoring, so regardless of your personal feelings about them, I don't think they are going anywhere any time soon)
@@HushMySweet1 you’re right they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean that I still can’t talk crap about someone who can’t play without having to cheat so I’m an old-school player who used to play in the arcade. In fact I managed multiple arcades so yeah I have no love for that crapbecause that’s all it is. It’s just a bunch of loser that have to cheat in order to try to be good. How do you like them apples
I probably have more joystick stuff than all-button stuff, so you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm in favor of whatever is most comfortable for whomever is playing. If that brings more people to the FGC, then I view it as a positive. But hey, thanks for watching and for weighing in with your perspective. Have a good night, dude!
@@HushMySweet1 actually your argument has no validity to it because the fact that when people use hit box, there are a lot of shortcuts when it comes to specific fighting games take street fighter three the third strike for instance there are impossible combos that you can only do with a hit box, so no, I’m not barking up the wrong treeI’m telling you it’s a cheap because it is there’s actually multiple videos of people explaining this as well. I prefer to play the game and not try to find someway to cheat.
Right on, dude. I'm an old joystick/arcade enthusiast as well, there's just no point in trying to get Pandora back in the box at this point when it comes to leverless in my opinion. But we can agree to disagree and I hope you have a great evening.
