Great comparison of the 2 Sam, as a runner of both, albeit the fx-stp version 1, same price in the uk for both, I am using the fx as the calcium reactor, and the versa just as a dosing pump so it not running so much.
Yes my kamour was quiet at first! But if you run it for six months, then you’ll see what I mean! I even change the tubing but made no difference after a few weeks , and I refuse to pay the price to replace the rollers, they are like $40.00 US dollars! Try giving a kamour a six month to a year reveiw, then see what you think! Thanks

Great video Sam. Great effort. I wonder if you could get your hands on the new kamoer pump specially designed for water changes as an upcoming video. Thanks and keep up the flow mate ✌️
Hey Sam, have you done a review on the kamoer x1 pro single channel wifi dosing pump? I'd love to know how it performs compared to the versa. If not, is there any chance you could do a review?
@@ParkersReef oh fantastic! I can't wait! I promise to still watch the video and click like-- but will you tell me the spoiler here in the comments? How does it stack up?
@@ParkersReef I'm rebooting my hobby after a few years away and I recently discovered this tropic marin all for reef one component alkalinity/calcium/trace elements. I think I'd like to dose it in my tank. I used to use a calcium reactor for this, but it hardly makes sense for a 57L tank! So it will be used to dose a single part calcium/all/trace supplement.
Thanks, very useful comparison. The Litremeter used to be the bees knees. Is the app control the only difference or do these new ones knock it out of the water (so to speak!). I’ve got the Litermeter and need a additional pump for Kalk dosing, so very interested in this dosing pump comparison you’re doing.
Litermeter still are amazing, the quality of their pumps is tough to beat. But, the control options are just too limited for 2020. Versa and Kamoer are up to the performance of the litermeter but offer many controllable options (plus are much easier to buy here in Australia) They are also aggressively priced compared to a litermeter with our exchange rate
Parkers Reef In that case I’ll keep the Litremeter for auto water change (not much control needed), Kamoer for Kalk dosing (WiFi control and continuous dosing). That leaves my other application of ATO, where the Littemeter can turn on from a water level sensor. Do the others have the ability for sensor control for ATO?
hey Sam another great video, do you think either of these pumps would be a good fit for making an “intertidal zone” biotope tank, complete with increasing & receding tide/water height?
Ooooh that sounds like a cool project. Tell me more about what you’d need the pump to do and I’ll let you know which pump I think would be best for the job :)
@@ParkersReef well assuming the tank is full to start with (high tide) one pump would gradually lower the tank over the course of around 6 hours, at which time once the first pump was finished, a 2nd pump would refill the tank to simulate high/low tides, ideally twice a day, possibly in line with what the real tides are doing in the ocean.... trying to simulate that biotope & really do it justice... it's an idea I've been toying with for a few years now...
It's only a matter of time, the mobius will have wifi capability. Some of the ecotech products already have wifi capability but are disabled for the time being.
I just came across this video cause I wanted a versa but nobody has them for sale in the USA. I ended up just paying more for the kamoer for the simple fact I could wait however long for ecotech to produce more versas.
The Versa has had some issues such as the peristaltic tube moving off the rollers, and as of the moment Mobius does not support remote access and control. The peristaltic tube issue has been fixed but there's still no remote access. Unless you need remote access the Versa is the better choice.
Parkers Reef - have my eye on the kamoer x2s but can’t seem to find any reviews , looks as though it’s the same pumps as the single wifi unit you reviewed. Not going to wait around for ecotech.
Good video 👍 Personally i dont have a need for either doser yet however i do own kamoer and ecotech priducts. Be interesting to see down the road how long each last, something's just telling me the kamoer will have a longer lifespan 🤷♂️
I find Kamoer hasn’t been up to the same quality it used to be, hoping this pump turns that around. Everyone is very harsh on the Versa, personally I think it’s an amazing pump (touches wood.... 😅)
@@ParkersReef mate i think it depends on what you use the versa for and how many you need. I use the kamoer x4 for dosing so to replace that with a 4 channel versa for £600 ($1200 aus) just wasnt worth it for me. If i need a single unit I would still buy the ecotech though no doubt 😆👍
ah that's a shame, living in Australia I have not had to deal with coralvue on a customer level like that, but the guys all seem like a really good bunch???
@@ParkersReef I have had multiple bad dealings with them, the first time I bought the new turf algae scrubber from them but it didn’t fit under my sump and they refused to take it back which goes against there own return policy, second time I bought 2 kamoer fx stp 2 from them and the heads on them were bent they proceeded to tell me they do not sell those (they do) and lastly I purchased 4 kamoer pro T stepper pumps and every single one of them had problems and they said I had to pay to get them fixed even though they were under warranty, needless to say I steer clear from any product that has anything to do with them
Ecotech is a disaster. remember ecosmartlive? ugh disaster. Now these pumps have leak issues on top of no stock for 2+ years and no word from the company in Bethlehem, Pa. Poor. The Mp series are the exception.
Personally I love the versa. Replace the tubing every 4-6 months (I did a video on how to do this for less than $2) and they're amazing. A lot of companies are facing stock shortages, chip shortages, covid and now war is causing some issues. Funnily enough, some people hate the MP pumps and like the rest of the radion range. That being said, I agree ecosmart live was terrible, but Mobius is fantastic :)
did you test already for kamoer with timer switch ?
is it back to dose when the switch on ?
yes the kamoer saves it's setting.
@@ParkersReef so I can put it on timer to dose only at night time. I want to use it for kalk drip,

But in all seriousness, I appreciate your input :)

Same issue here. Six months later rollers need to be replaced. Ordering a Versa now.
@@VIPReefAquariumsDon’t, I’m watching this video now to find a better pump than Versa. Versa is loud at 90ml/min

They are a John guest item, I’ll see if I can find a link for you

Yes have seen that, looks incredible. Can be expensive though, so really only suits me for small tanks
Do you set your Cal Reactor pump to push water or pull water through your device?
I set it to push, I do it this way to keep the water through the pump as clean as possible. I believe it helps the tube life
