    That is an extreme test but it certainly coped well. I am a bit of an Ecotech fan and this looks like a quality product.

      yeah so far so good. I have it running continuously on one of my tanks now and can say that if you push it over 100ml a minute it gets a little noisy - but that is a lot of water!

    I went all in and pre-ordered the 4 pack but only installed it a couple of days ago. Early days of course but so far my only complaint is, as you mentioned, the number of sequential updates. The dock makes mounting easy and its nice to power all four off the one power lead.

    • @ParkersReef

    Hey Sam How do the Ecotech dosing Versa Pumps compared to the Reef Factory dosing pump for automatic water change in your opinion.

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty different units I have to admit! The software versatility of the versa is amazing, but the hardware is annoying in that you need to replace the tubing every 3 months.
      The reef factory large dosing pump cannot actually do continuous, so it is a matter of setting a schedule - which is a huge let down

    Specifications:
    Min Dosing Volume: .5 μL/min

    Should be after upgrade you can do that 300ml

    • @TheofficialEsmvids
      @TheofficialEsmvids 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the max of 300ml/min also depends on the mode used. Don't think constant will allow it but custom doses will. Appears to be logic based on how long etc that changes what's available

    Thank you Sam, this is the one I have been waiting on to do my water changes. I have read a lot about it leaking from the connections, have you noticed anything with the John Guest fittings?

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ParkersReef one more question, does the 1/4 tubing just push straight in or is there another adaptor needed?

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1/4inch tubing pushes straight in. Pump came with John guest style fittings as standard and also adapters that pushed into those to create hose barbs if you preferred :)

    Hey mate. Not sure if it can be considered a torture test given that the actual net elevation is probably less than one meter (as it goes up and than back down).

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah fair call! I've since found I am not a huge fan of the Versa pumps due to their short lifetime with the tubing they use. You really need to replace it every 2-3 months which is not sustainable in any fashion

  • @toddblack479
    @toddblack479 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you tried running the versa to an auto or manual schedule? I can only get constant mode to work, the schedules defined in auto or manual mode seem to be being ignored

    What do you think for using it for feeding a sulphur reactor? I was thinking of a Kamoer but this is far cheaper...

    • @ParkersReef

      I honestly think it’s awesome for sulphur, calcium reactors and auto water changes. Also, kalk reactors. Anything else it is probably overkill :)

      Not yet… however soon (it’s currently in beta test) you will be able to connect remotely if you have radion g5 lights near it. They will act as a WiFi beacon for the Bluetooth devices

  • @markweldon744

    Did you find the drip rate inconsistent mine on my calcium reactor drips x amount then stops then drips x amout but the pump it self is running fine??

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is the nature of a peristaltic pump. As the tubing can only deliver "drips" it will seem inconsistent due to drips not being equally timed apart. Best way is to measure the output over a set time to see if it is consistent :)

      Parkers Reef that’s reassuring that it’s not just me then. Haha. Over 50ml/min and my IKS Vario Blue II continuous duty peri pump is quieter but caps out at 70ml/min. They’re the same brand as those on the dastaco. Look forward to hearing how you find the versa long term.
