Thank you so much. The most advanced thing I have done with my laptop so far was a virus scan!! It started overheating and I couldn't hear the fan anymore and as a newly single parent couldn't afford a new machine. I took a deep breath, bought a fan for £7 and followed your instructions to the letter. Result is it works and the fan is as quiet as it was when it was new. Thank you again :-D

I can't believe I found a video that finally showed how to get the laptop's parts back together. It would be quite nice if some videos had at least subtitles with some tech information and guidance.
    Thanks for the video!!

Thanks for the video. I was having problems with my laptop turning off by itself just a few minutes after turning it on. I noticed that I didn’t hear the fan kick on like I normally would. I also noticed the laptop being unusually hot. So, I bought a new fan for about $10 from Amazon. Watched your video for step by step instructions, and now my laptop works fine. I can hear the fan running, and no more over heating. Thanks.

Ok beautifully illustrated, can't say enough to thank the uploader for this walk through. Just completed the fan swap in minutes with all screws back in their respective spots. Was a couple unnecessary moves but nothing too hinder the task....

I replaced my ASUS 5733 laptop fan with the help of this video. I recommend watching the entire video before replacing the fan. A few ribbon cables do not need to be removed, as seen here.

Wow! Thank you so much for this.. Acer aspire 5733Z started shutting down. Pulled up RealTemp and could see that it was likely caused by high temperatures. Pulled up this video an another computer and followed it almost exactly. Finally got to the fan and it was choked with 1/4" dust block. Forced air alone from the outside would never have fixed it. I blew out all the inlet/outlets as well as a every blade on the fan, plus the general body of the computer insides. I did not put any fresh thermal paste on the CPU, as I have seen that changing it makes little to no difference. The only step that was actually tricky was taking out the keyboard. But once I got past the first "click"... It was a snap. I was very careful. I had plastic tools. I stopped and rewound at each step to be sure. Fortunately, they also reassemble! You might find out that they detach three things that are not necessary to. But that is probably my model. Computer is back up. Temps are 15-20 degrees lower! No slow downs and no shut downs. If my fan goes, I am buying from them! Oh...and I have one (of 14) external screw that is not catching! I must have shifted the location of its anchor threads somehow. But I am ok with that!

Thanks for the vid! Spilled something on the keyboard, and it didn't turn on after I cleaned the mess.
Those stupid holes really should ALL have plastic covers. A minuscule amount of liquid made it to the motherboard, and I have no idea if it'll turn on after it all dries.
Anyone want to guess whether it'll turn on? It was in sleep mode when I spilled the stuff on it, and technically on, I think, when the liquid made it to the motherboard.

*sigh* I'm gonna have to do this at some point to clean it out if I want my laptop to survive much longer. I think one thing I'm gonna do is get some paint, or paint pens and mark holes with the tops of screws different colors of where they should go. If' I can do this correctly. I'm gonna replace some parts too when I need them. That would be awesome to just put a new mother board in, or HDD.

I've got an Acer, and i'm so sick and tired of having to open it all the damn time, since it's such a tiring process. So instead i'm just going to buy parts for a custom made pc. Much easier, just saying.
