Brilliant video - many thanks. A friend who cannot afford to upgrade has thermal throttling and I upgraded ram and SSD but need to clean off dried thermal paste and put new on chip and fan probably clogged up as well as noisy.
I have the same one and I put an i7-640M in it and it works perfectly

@@push183 I can confirm that an Acer Aspire 5733 will operate awesomely by installing an I7-640M chip. My fan went out and kept shutting off. I ordered a used I7-640M on Ebay, new fan and thermal paste. Just installed this morning and the results are awesome so far!
Can you post the link for one?? I’d like to upgrade mine, I’ve got ram Modules on the way to and will soon do an SSD upgrade.

I don't want upgrade cpu can i clean it and put thermal paste only?
help me. mine turns on and then turns off. I changed the motherboard, I changed the processor. I called without any peripherals and it didn't solve the problem.
