I was there and the atmosphere was just euphoric. When Buddy marked for his fourth goal everyone went nuts. When he kicked it there wasn’t even time to celebrate, just get on the field! Just an amazing experience.
This is one of the best AFL games I have been to the crowd was just electrifying whenever buddy even went near the ball also let's appreciate the kick to buddy from Chad Warner for the 1000 goals

A Marvelous Performance by the Swannies. The team overall continues to grow stronger each day with how much they’ve improved compared to where they were two years ago.
Regardless though, an all-around fantastic and dominant performance, especially from Mills, Heeney, Paddy and especially Buddy, still doing it all at Age 35 and reaching to goal 1000. Absolute Beauty.
Definitely looking forward to the rest of this season, especially with how dangerous the Swannies are looking! Cheers from the U.S.

I'm sitting here crying a day later......In a way it is sad because we may never see something as special as 1000 career goals or 100 goals in a season......I can say I was alive to see this when it happened same as when Plugger kicked his 1300th goal.......and when Buddy kicked 100 in a season. But it's the end of an era. Buddy Franklin, the last true full forward.

I chose the best seat in the house buddy kicked the goal in front being like 12 years old I couldn’t see a thing but there was nice man in front of me who ducked down and my dad has chatting to the guy who ended up chatting the ball
Can someone explain to me how the scoring works
If you kick it in between the two middle posts it is 6 points. If you kick it on the outside of either of those two middle posts, it is 1 point. If you don't get it in between any posts, it is 0 points.
All the hype about Buddy but I feel Heeney was the man in this game. Probably a better player than LF at this stage of their careers.

Unfortunate to see my Cats lose, but seeing Buddy kick his 1000th is something special, he's been one of my favorites for as long as I've been following footy [8 or 9 years now].
I'm happy we managed to not sacrifice a win by getting him to 1000 goals. Our goal kicking mids have really stood up to start off this year and now we can play without this in the back of our minds. Wonderful moment when he put that goal through.

Apparently the Swans are appealing for the ball to be returned so they can present it to Bud....in return, the person who returns it will get to meet Buddy and get admission to future games for free and probably some Swans goodies as well. If I was him/her, I would be returning that ball.😆

Buddy kicking four majors to reach 1000 AFL goals is phenomenal and incredible.
This is only the second time I have seen the crowd entering the field. The first was by Franklin kicking his 100th goal that year while Fevola finished with 99.
Which was upsetting, I wish Fev kicked 100. But damn this was a special moment.

This game was a treat for all of us AFL fans in NSW to attend. The pitch invasion went off without a hitch and everyone had a good time. Congrats Buddy for 1000! One of the greatest sporting moments in modern Australian sports!
