You asked to see me do something I actually want to do, so here it is... hope you enjoy! Would appreciate you checking if you're subscribed, getting close to 50k now :)
I feel like you've set a budget now where you could make an occasional series around places you could visit for less than a trip Stonehenge. That was a fantastic video!
I was lucky enough to witness the northern lights high up in the Norwegian Arctic Circle. They were so bright and vivid it was almost blinding. I’ve tried to explain it to people just how beautiful it was but I could never truly describe it. Great video!
@@EdChapman23 Hi, so hate to be the barer of bad news. So the purple lights you saw first is a Microalgea greenhouse which lights the sky purple. The second light you point to is most likely the bloom from the runway lights at the airport. When you see a Northern light you will know, they are much more dynamic and dance in the sky, so you will see variance in intensity :)
I couldn't love this video more. The concept...the execution of the concept...the realisation of the concept...flawless. Ed makes me want to travel. And he even bought a souvenir!
I know someone who went to Iceland who thought they were seeing the Northern Lights until they realised they were green and purple lights shining up from their hotel's roof.
yeah lol this video aged poorly already (although i unfortunately missed it ' for free' over the weekend) as it was only visable from certain parts of the UK
I see them regularly in Inverness, even better chance seeing them in Wick, Thurso in Far North or Orkney or Shetland, right here in the UK (easyJet fly to Inverness from Gatwick, Luton and Bristol)
You can see them from the Isle of Man too . My friend and I have been looking with our partners for years now with no luck. Even if we go to areas with no street lights . He recently went to Finland right up in the arctic circle . When he got back I was like well did you see them? Him … NO!😭😭😂
I don't know whether to be more impressed by the northern lights or the fact you ate a burger and chips with your hands! 😅 So proud! Great video as always Ed.
liking the new music and editing. would be cool to see you go to more european places that are a bit off the beaten track. still, its good to see you improving with every video.
I so enjoyed this video! I am so impressed how cheaply you did it too! Walking around the industrial estates was a bit iffy, LOL, but am so glad you kept within the budget and kinda saw the Northern Lights! I spent five days in Norway trying to see the lights, saw eff all and the whole trip cost us shed loads more than yours, so well done!!😂😂😂
Or maybe a trip to my home town of folkestone? It's the seaside that the papers brand "London on sea" so much culture here! Our hotel looks like the titanic 😉
I spent a week in Iceland in the middle of winter. We had a car all we wanted was the Northern Lights. We sat in the dark for hours. No joy, bugger! You lucky sod! Well done
I went to Reykjavik on a work trip in March a few year ago and I had the same windy and grey experience. Didn't see the sun or a clear sky for the entire time I was there! Total swizz if you ask me. Bleak
Great video. Have you compared the cost of travelling from Leeds to the British Museum to see the Elgin Marbles and weighed that up against a trip to Greece (where they should be)?
Awww, dude, the fact that a month or so later you could see them in the UK. DID you see them in the UK? I blimming missed them, woke up to all the photos from the night before the next day!
One of your best vids if you ask me. You could have edited around not getting the taxi and got it anyway, but it's clear that you didn't... You looked flippin drenched. Absolutely killing it with the content. 👌
Honestly, I love your videos bud! Can you maybe do a video deciding the ultimate meal deal? 🤔 Personally I go for Tesco and it's usually the biggest red bull available, the cheese triple sandwich and usually a sausage roll (cos I'm a greedy boi) love ya Ed!
I lived in a bed sit with shared bathroom for 6months or so many years ago, I did however have a sink which was pee’d in several times a day! I also used to make spaghetti in the kettle….good times believe it or not!
Watched this video of yours Sunday but I was drunk! Watching again now & I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Good work Ed! 👍Looked more fun than stone henge
The Northern lights is essentially a winter phenomenon when it's dark (and very cold). If you want to see the midnight sun in summer, you're not going to see any northern lights, obviously.!! With regard to Stonehenge, your photo of that was also under the blue skies of warm weather, so once again - its all simply a matter of whether you prefer dark and cold, or bright and warm.
Ed, your one brave man.....can feel the wind and rain and cold so respect to your great camera work.....yes that was definitely the Northern Lights .....ya chancer!!!!
Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? In this industrial estate? Conveniently placed above purple and greenish lights and looking suspiciously like clouds? "Yes!"
Oh I do love you ed 😂 I think u need to do “an idiot abroad” series, I don’t mean that in a bad way but you remind me of Karl pilkington so much 😂 you could ask Simon Wilson to b Ricky gervais and set you the task 🤣 x
You asked to see me do something I actually want to do, so here it is... hope you enjoy! Would appreciate you checking if you're subscribed, getting close to 50k now :)
Some great little bits of editing in this one Ed 👍
I had to go back and have a look at that long thumb again that’s definitely above average 😂
You did not see the northern lights 😂
Love the content ed! Keep it up 👍
Another great video. Thanks Ed. Keep em coming. Cheers x
I feel like you've set a budget now where you could make an occasional series around places you could visit for less than a trip Stonehenge. That was a fantastic video!
Great idea! He could keep trying new places, rate them and see what was the best place and the cheapest he could make it.
" like a cold lanzarote!"... that made me laugh so much❤
So true tho !!!
Train travel in the UK is diabolically expensive.
Plane travel is ridiculously cheap though
Yep and they expect people not to drive their cars… I mean a bit of incentive would be nice 😂
You can blame the extortionate electricity costs. Staff shortages due to layoffs show you how bad it is.
I've travelled to mainland Europe, stayed a few nights in a hotel and come back for cost of a UK train ticket one way.
Not half 😢🥴
It's so silly but the bag drop and keychain reveal was actually pretty funny
"Iceland, a cold Lanzarote." Words to live by.
“A skid mark of it” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was lucky enough to witness the northern lights high up in the Norwegian Arctic Circle. They were so bright and vivid it was almost blinding. I’ve tried to explain it to people just how beautiful it was but I could never truly describe it. Great video!
Welcome to Njarðvík...:)...what a small world you actually walked past my house ;) who would have thunk!
Haha really is a small world, settle a debate then, what do you think I saw here? Northern lights or something else?
@@EdChapman23 Hi, so hate to be the barer of bad news. So the purple lights you saw first is a Microalgea greenhouse which lights the sky purple. Loved the sneaky souvenir at the end.
Loving the video. Would love you to turn this into a series. Keep the content coming.
Loved your cameo with Stuntpegg. Keep going Ed, you're smashing it. 👌
I feel like those were almost definitely just lights from a building or something, but yet another great vid regardless.
I know someone who went to Iceland who thought they were seeing the Northern Lights until they realised they were green and purple lights shining up from their hotel's roof.
I really enjoyed this one! It was so tense. I would love to see more tense videos. Perhaps with a time limit? A bit like some Top Gear challenges.
Could of looked out your bedroom window yesterday and seen them for free Ed!
yeah lol this video aged poorly already (although i unfortunately missed it ' for free' over the weekend) as it was only visable from certain parts of the UK
great video Ed and once again someone highlights how horrendous uk train prices have become sadly
UK Train prices are extortionate! You budgeted this trip to Iceland really well. Nice one Ed! - Yeah, that was definitely the Northern Lights.
😂 No it wasn't.
It's just some green lights in the sky... ED 2024 😂😂
Class video as always. Getting pelted by rain and looking into the sky saying is that green is a personal highlight.
it's great content isn't it
He finally ate with his hands 😮
it's a first, still washing the GREASE off
@@EdChapman23 live a little
@@EdChapman23grow up !!
This was soo good and the editing was brilliant too I loved the little extra ❤
Thank you 😊

The only thing more criminal than UK travel is the fact this man doesn't have a million subs. By far the most creative on the platform
Good to see your progression buddy! Followed the channel right the way through. Hope alls well
Cheers mate, hope you're good!
Your budget/ challenge videos are my personal favourites. This was like you said an Ed Chapman video 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Videos are getting better & better. Great work, Ed!
Keep the content coming Ed! We want more! 😁
Ed you spent 200 on Stonehenge and not on a mic is criminal arrest him , love the content
turkey teeth should be criminal
A crap day at work so tuned in. That cracked me up.
Top quality again Ed you never fail to make me laugh on tough days. Comparing Iceland as a cold Lanzarote had me in stitches.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed!
Great video! Love from Poland🇵🇱.
Thank you 😊
The souvenir drop.. fantastic!
I went to Iceland and I didn’t see the Northern Lights at all! I did buy some frozen ready meals however. 😂
You missed out on the dirt cheap and absolutely excellent hotdogs from the little supermarket street-side of security, near all the bus company areas.
Thanks! GREAT VIDEO Ed..
Thank you so much! :)
You can see the Northern Lights from Scotland xx
Great vid as always though, thank you for entertaining us xx😊
Costs more to go to Scotland than Iceland 😢
You can see them from the Isle of Man too . My friend and I have been looking with our partners for years now with no luck. Even if we go to areas with no street lights . He recently went to Finland right up in the arctic circle . When he got back I was like well did you see them? Him … NO!😭😭😂
Saw it in Wales last week 😂
Brilliant watch Ed…..need more like this
Thank you, will do!
I don't know whether to be more impressed by the northern lights or the fact you ate a burger and chips with your hands! 😅 So proud! Great video as always Ed.
Haha thank you!
Great Video mate, there was a bit more of the Northern Lights slightly out of shot at the Industrial Estate
Was just admiring the 'tache growth, when an advert for Tampax filled the screen!
liking the new music and editing. would be cool to see you go to more european places that are a bit off the beaten track. still, its good to see you improving with every video.

Love that you went to Iceland and only spent your time in some industrial area 😂 that‘s pure class
That's the real Iceland!
Bleak
The chair opposite the toilet had me proper chuckling. 🤔😂
I believe that was a little bit of the Northern Lights😊, great job!
Quality video as always Ed top job and this one deffo is the most Ed video ever but I love it 🔥🔥🔥
03:40 that's just like Germany or Austria. Prison bedding!
"I've never seen winds like this before." Ed, once again you've clearly never been to Oldham. 🤣
Ed, I have wanted to do exactly what you have done in this video 😮 I am going to replicate you exactly! 😊
Ed you're brilliant, love your humour, it's so akin to mine :) please don't stop with your witty vids 🙏👌
Yeah - an Ed Chapman video - Mother’s Day just got better 🤗
Great video. Have you compared the cost of travelling from Leeds to the British Museum to see the Elgin Marbles and weighed that up against a trip to Greece (where they should be)?
The irony being I'm sat here waiting for a bus, and I just watched 6 seconds of a fellow Brit record himself waiting for another bus
I just wanted to say....
You are absolutely hilarious.
Good work
Awww, dude, the fact that a month or so later you could see them in the UK. DID you see them in the UK? I blimming missed them, woke up to all the photos from the night before the next day!
Brilliant video this, Ed! That spaceship looking building looks like a Mormon church - ha!
It was worth it just to see Tony Starks Church (tax evasion if you ask me)
One of your best vids if you ask me. You could have edited around not getting the taxi and got it anyway, but it's clear that you didn't... You looked flippin drenched. Absolutely killing it with the content. 👌
P.s you should do a sequel where you go to Norway (Tromso is the place most likely for northern lights) and see them better.
Thank you 😊
You’ve really sold Iceland to me. Northern lights on an industrial estate 😂 great video!
I like this video concept, of trying to do it on a budget, Great video

Great vid, you should go to norway next you can see the northern lights clearer there, my friend in norway told me he sees them all the time .
Thank you! Yeah really wanna do an igloo hotel there as well, but sooo expensive, working on it!
I lived in a bed sit with shared bathroom for 6months or so many years ago, I did however have a sink which was pee’d in several times a day! I also used to make spaghetti in the kettle….good times believe it or not!

I always upvote before I watch the vid, I just know it's going to be great
You put the effort in but definately not the northern lights sadly. 100% light pollution. Try coming to scotland. The further north the better.
Ed, your one brave man.....can feel the wind and rain and cold so respect to your great camera work.....yes that was definitely the Northern Lights .....ya chancer!!!!
I came across your channel through stuntpeggs last video, and I'm glad I did. Subscribed
Get in, welcome!
Love video in all its chaos but more importantly that little moment of the souvenir at the end was class editing! Keep up the great work mate!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Love the vids but never been the Northern Lights in a million years lol 😅😅😅 don't ever do research before your trips !! Top stuff
@Edchapman You should do your next trip to morroco on a budget this month
That’s so cool to visit another country amazing video❤❤❤❤❤
I really enjoyed this video 👍 Im off to search for a cheap flight to Iceland...
You'll have to go back and try again. Check the whether next time lol
Loving your videos ed
Eds back with another banger 🎉🎉🎉🎉 nice 1 mate
7:10 thats just the average day here in iceland
The northern lights were visable over Stonehenge a few months ago.
Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? In this industrial estate? Conveniently placed above purple and greenish lights and looking suspiciously like clouds?

Ohh man youre so funny i enjoy watching these videos 😂❤
My brother went a few weeks ago. I'm currently wearing a t shirt from the Iceland Punk Museum which, suitably, is in an old public bog.
Northern Lights done the northern way on a proper budget
Well done Ed!! Thanks for another great video. 😊Kx
I live about an hour from Stonehenge and probably still cost me £110 to get a return train ticket there. I'd definitely rather go Iceland though!
The music in the background fits perfectly
The high spot for me was the strangest order ever from a KFC. Worth the trip for a Pepsi Max and that chcolate egg. Great video!
Loved this!
is it possible to walk directly from airport into town or to your hostel?
Went to Iceland, got pelted and drenched, ate a chocolate egg and fu*ked off home. Bosh.
Has another human ever said “let rocks be rocks!” ? 😂
