About the Slave Ogryn box: at release they made a limited run Box with 6 Ogryns (3x the frame from the current 2-Ogryn kit at the price of 'just' 2 kits, so basically a 'buy 3 pay 2' rare discount bundle from GW), but the gang does suffer from having essentially only 1 model with 2 leg variants, so they were always 'meant' to be converted/kit-bashed; luckily the oversized fists/weapons of many Ork kits tend to match Ogryn scale, so if you have a local 40k Ork player it should be pretty easy to source the extra melee weapons you may need (or just 3D print them). Technically RAW (Rules As Written) Ogryns can't use weapons from Trading post/Black market (it is the 2nd bullet point under their special rules), but most gaming groups tend to house rule to allow them to at least use Melee weapons from TP/BM. Now the Ogryn gang in game, while it is true individual ogryns may have a base cost a bit higher than equivalent fighters in other gangs, being limited to mostly melee weapons, means they end up being cheaper than the average fighter in other elite gangs like Goliaths (using Gene smithing) or Van Saars; I find you tend to average 200-250 creds leader/champs, offset by 'cheap' 110-120 creds Lobo slaves, so they are not that bad from a 'numbers point of view'. As for skills, for the Leader I like either Iron will (if your starting gang is 6-7 models) or Commanding presence (to up his Group activation to 2 like other leaders, mainly to be able to group activate with his champs on important turns, since Lobos can't group activate anyway), while for the champs I tend to either get Bull charge or Naaargh! (which I tend to use to lob a grenade after a double Move or Charge). Anyway, cheers! :)
Here's a PSA for anyone wondering how to create a slave Ogryn gang for cheap and not spend $120 plus on miniatures for it. Wargames Atlantic Landsknecht Ogres box. You get 9 miniatures for $30-$40 bucks and, AND, they come with Sci-fi-ish options like arms throwing grenades and autoguns. I don't believe they come with 40mm bases though so those will have to be sourced elsewhere.
For your info, there is now a data sheet in Necromunda that you can hire as a brute. The awakened ogryn, a psyker ogryn, with the mental stats of an ogryn. He’s bloody terrible, but at the same time I love him soo much. And I try to include him into my ogryn gang whenever I can lol
About to start 1st dominion campaign, chose ogryn. My genius plan.. 1x OB with paired fists, 2x UB with arc welders, all incend nades, charge in behind the 3x lobo slaves after lobbing the nades.
I wanted to play as chaos ogryns but rules as written states that only House Gangs can be corrupted by chaos or genestealers :< (I know I know, homerule that or something)
Are they really a faction? I love the house of chains aka the goliath gang. Can other gangs have slave ogryn or are they just a whole other house all together?
@@mayhemzz2217 If you like the physical books I think Slave Ogryn gang rules are in House of Chains and chaos corruption rules are in Book of Judgement

Slave Ogryns are their own faction but every faction can have up to two ogryns as brutes ^^
@IdioticSynergy thanks for the info. I'm a bit getting back to you but if you could do funny ogryn videos that'd be fun.
