It's crazy to think how much Hooper is capable of when you see his physique. Versus other strongmen too. He's "only" 310-315 lbs. Like he says, probably the smallest biceps in the majority of World Strongmen competitions - he's maybe 20" flexed+warmed? Most competing are 22"-25".
Novakof also competes around that weight..i think his heaviest was 340. Both are extremely impressive. Its interesting seeing this new generation of strongman.
Recent events taken into consideration, I have a hard time watching this. My heart goes out to Thor and Kelcee. Hope they and their family find strength and grace through these hard times. Much love their way.

I'm Canadian so Hooper is the man I cheer for and I'd be a fan of his regardless. That being said, I always love seeing Martins Licis in a video - he is so intelligent about his lifts and a fantastic teacher. It's not surprising that he figured out how to optimize the hold after just a few examples. I watched his deadlift tutorial video on the Squat University channel and his tips helped me add about 10% to the weight I was lifting for reps + I felt better doing them. All wonderful folks in this video, and a great impromptu collaboration.
What an awesome group to be able to work out around. Juji is such a genuinely just nice dude. Everything I’ve seen him in he’s been just a hands down good dude
Watching Greg workout is amazing. He just does these subtle things that can completely change a workout. Definitely incorporating the DB curls he did into my next bicep workout
I love everyone’s vibe in this video. They’re all unbelievably strong but they’re so humble. They’re just acting like a bunch of high schoolers hitting arms and having fun.
Very cool!! Hilarious that they did that at Planet Fitness, of all places. I'm surprised the Lunk Alarm didn't melt down. I would have thought it would have started the minute they walked in!!😂
I think Martins was almost right about the position of the bar during the hold: having the bar against your wrist forces you to hold your arms at a few degrees higher angle, because the wrist is narrower than the thickest part of your forearm - you're mostly only holding the weight of the plate, however, so it's not so much a matter of leverages concerning the pressure created against the bar.
He was, you would want a certain force against your arms to feel safe and secure against the bar. Even though the lifting part is much larger it would absolutely make a difference. The thing you point out is of course also true.
Seeing all of these big guys do bicep curls at the same time right in front of the rack at a PF is HILARIOUS
It's like watching a whale migration except they dont go anywhere. So much majesty and might in one building its amazing.
