Love this idea! I really wish the Witches Wisdom had been printed in a "traditional" tarot size and thinner cardstock. It's truly impossible to shuffle and work with in the size and cardstock it's being printed in now.
I have the exact same feeling about my Starseed oracle… really enjoy Danielle Noel’s artwork, and I’m also deeply in love with the cosmos and stars, yet I virtually never find myself reaching for this deck because the descriptions feel out of touch for me. I think this mod is a great idea and will likely do the same with mine.
I love what you've done with the Witches Wisdom! I've had it for a while, but not used it because I have two other similar decks (Druid Craft and Wildwood, both illustrated by Will Worthington) that I prefer. Also, while I adore Danielle Barlow's animal and plant artwork, I'm not keen on her people (I'm very picky when it comes to people in decks!), so I'm now thinking I could trim off the titles, put the people cards aside and use it as a nature oracle with my Will Worthington tarot decks. I could even put keywords on them, which is one thing that Will Worthington's oracle decks lack (they just have the name of the plant or animal).
I thought I was the only one who didn't like how the people were depicted 🙈

Same! People in decks are a very tricky thing for me as well. RWS, fine. All others are case by case.
Well done! I love the fact that you are choosing your own preferences rather than forcing yourself to fit into a defined category. Yes we need to really understand the system first before changing things. I feel that we need to acknowledge the deck creator's ideas and then apply our personal slant given our own background, location, preferences, experience and areas of interest. Your ideas are giving confidence to others to break the pattern with intelligence.
I'm so impressed with your thoughtful restructuring of the Light Seed Oracle. I didn't even think to just leave the title text! I completely removed the text and have been working with the just the images. Thanks for such an inspiring video!

I love this concept of modifying the decks to make them work for you. I've already used your concept of combining cards from 2 oracles and leaving out cards I don't resonate with. I'll definitely be keeping this modification concept in mind too. 💖
Isn‘t it interesting that the chop seems to have worked particularly well for your favourite whale card? They look perfectly centred now and actually better than in the original size.
Personally, I can work with the deck as I have relatively long fingers. But I still wish they came out with a pocket version. I like to carry a pocket deck around with me as a kind of emotional support animal and the very healing energy of these cards would be perfect.
It was a perfect trim for my favorite card. A pocket deck would be really cool!

I like how both turned out! I only have the Work your light but now I'm thinking I might do the same with it. The Witches' wisdom is on my wishlist but it's just huge. But looking at your moded version maybe I could do something similar (but keeping the titles and renumber). Thanks for sharing!

Ooooh I've been contemplating doing this to the Witches Wisdom and the Starseed. They turned out fantastic. I just bought a new trimmer meant for thick cardstock today. These may be my testers.
I love the mod you did for the Witches Wisdom! I have the deck and am using as a tarot fairly well but I am super intrigued by using it as an oracle deck and chopping off the words! I will Definitely keep that in mind after using the deck for a while. What a great idea! It looks amazing as an oracle! ~kris
Always so impressed how you manage to make your decks work for you. I feel the same with Campbell's work. I tried making my own lightseed and still didn't use it. 3rd try may be the charm, lol. I feel similarly when it comes to the witch's wisdom deck. I didn't realize the cardstock would be such an issue for me in the beginning, but it keeps me from reaching for it. I think that I could learn to manage the changes to the Majors if I could work with the cardboard stock. 🤞 for a new printing. Thanks for sharing your process with us. Blessings 💫 💜 💫

The Witches Wisdom Tarot looks really nice trimmed down. I personally don’t mind the card stock, but I get it. One of the decks I got a few months ago, I really don’t like the card stock for. It just feels gross in my hands, and I don’t want to shuffle it. Kind of sucks since I was eyeing their other decks too, but I think the card stock is the same for all the decks. I might pull it out when I’m in the mood for a black and white deck next to get myself to use it some more.
If I had gotten the Starseed Oracle and Work Your Light Oracle years ago, I probably would have done the same thing, though no words at all. Her artwork looks so pretty, but I just can’t with the ableism.
I enjoy the witches wisdom but am super interested in how you modified yours! I might have to get another copy and try it and see which way might work best. Thanks for a great video!
First off, I absolutely looooovvvveee how you re-create decks that don’t always work out for you 😜 And secondly, I do feel bad for Danielle Noel with these Rebeca Campbell decks because her art is just absolutely amazballs, her decks are what got me into loving digital collage in the first place and it’s just dang can’t they redo the starseed/work your light Oracle’s keywords or something 🤣😂😅
I think Rebecca Campbell is using a different artist now. Danielle Noel has made her own oracle, which totally made me happy and preordered the day I found out about it! Danielle's writing is wonderful and I prefer the decks that are fully her vision. :)
I like the mod of the work your light and star seed. I separated my decks awhile ago and still didn't use them. I don't jive with the words on the cards either. Maybe I'll cut them all off and write my own titles on it.
Did you think of trimming some of the sides in the witches wisdom tarot deck? I think that could be done without missing anything. I like these modifications .. especially what you did to Rebecca Compel’s decks

I am wondering if you’ve ever edged a deck with a silver marker or Sharpie? How does that work out?
I edged my trimmed Crystal Tarot in Sharpie bronze that’s the last time I used sharpie. It faded really quickly, gave me a headache and bleed onto the cards lol. It was not a great experience for me although I know other people use them successfully. I prefer the brilliance stamps if I want a metallic look. I hope that helps! 😀
I have both those 2 star seed and the light one ,I don't reach for them at all I did at the beginning going to try again
I tried buying those mint colored pens, but couldn't find one!
I think I found them at my local craft store. It can sometimes be hard to find specific numbers, but perhaps maybe an online art store would have more selection. I hope that helps!
I'm still unsure about the Witches Wisdom X;"D I keep circling it (like shark) but not sure if it would work as a tarot (I tried finding people with experiences with it but most talks about modding it into an oracle). I would definitely need to make it smaller since it's huge so I loved taking another look at it.
(I also got the Sugarskull and will trim it once I got a new trimmer, mine is misaligned and it's too much work to work around it).
You know, I just don't use the Witches Wisdom at all. I tried it as a Tarot, didn't work. Modded it into an oracle, still didn't work. I know a lot of people love this deck and I was super excited but it just didn't end up connecting for me. I always end up back at my Green Witch Tarot. :) I do think if it was smaller and on better cardstock, I would have tried a bit harder, but there's just too many thing that didn't align for me. Still a beautiful deck though!
@@DawnMichelleTarot I keep looking at the Green Witch but that doesn't resonate with me as much as this artwork. Would you be tempted by a smaller sized deck? I just found a video form the creator where she mentioned (in August) that the big size goes away soon and a new smaller sized deck is coming (soon?)! :D
