When ever i hear main actor from her, i just cry because of her emotion she brings through singing she is sooo good!!!!!! pls main actor for the next reaction!
Damn, made me shed tears. I had listened to this piece multiple times but never read the translated lyrics. It was already making me emotional, but after paying attention to the lyrics, I found myself crying.
I think the idea is that if you act fake for long enough, it's hard to be able to be genuinly yourself again. Not just because you have no confidence in yourself but because everyone knows you as someone you're not. Being accepted as someone you are not almost hurts more than not being accepted at all.
There's also the risk of not even knowing who you really are yourself. That's at least a possible outcome of always craving for everyone to like me. I grow up to become someone who doesn't even know myself.
A little interesting thing, Minami actually has performed a few of her songs with her guitar in twitter videos, I really recommend seeing those because you really hear her rough performance with no post production or anything and its honestly even more impressive
One thing i noticed in this song is when her original self is speaking, the instrumentals are very calm like only an acoustic guitar and piano are playing but when she starts having conflicts it switches to more noisy instruments. This is why i love Minami so much
Dealing with self-image and identity is not easy and she nails it with the lyrics and performance. Makes me emotional everytime. Great reaction. Main Actor next for more great lyrics and performance.
Minami is the queen of emotions. And you know what? I see a similarity between you two. You are both very expressive in what you do and I absolutely love it. This makes it easy for me to resonate with your feelings and emotions. That's why minami is my favorite singer and your channel is my favorite among others similar.
one of my favourite things about this song is at the last chorus (and the first) the bpm slows down from 205 to 185 and when she starts screaming is goes back 205 which amplifies everything even more
I love watching vocal teacher react to minami cuz i can learn a lot and it make me interested in singing even tho i can't sing that just how impactful minami's voice are😂
You're taking me back, man. I recall listening to her non-stop in the last year of highschool and 1st year of uni. She was my Oshi, but it's a bit sad she's not as active.
Got the Chance to see her in live 2 times the emotion she can transmit with her voice it's amazing i never felt that with any singer before but she gave me goosbumps everytime i hear her and even sometimes tears, My favorite song from her is Ame wo Matsu
I absolutely LOVE this track. The clear breath & voice breaks add SO MUCH emotion. So rarely can I hear a vocalist use the sound of them taking a breath in to add to a song. Usually, it feels like it gets avoided. Not from Minami. She deliberately makes you hear her breath. Gasping for air in desperation to give more impact I get brought to tears very often listening to it.
So so happy you reacted to this!! One of my favorite songs and probly one of if not the most emotional songs I know, and with such a powerful message. Minami is such an incredible singer, gives me goosbumps evertime I listen to her. Amazing video Chris! Keep up the amazing work!
thank you cris. Best reaction channel ever, much appriciated for reacting to my favoruite song that has been my favourite for more than a year now and now making it even more favorite by showing me how good she is, cus man i just don't realize half of her golden voice. see you on the next one, have a great day!

Thank you again for al your openess and transparency, that makes me appreciate you a lot more! Makes me happy to see you enjoy this artists, hopefully it does makes you happy to see us enjoying your reactions aswell! Thank you for all the insights!
Her way of making you connect with the lyrics. You can truly FEEL what shes saying in the song. I've dealt with depression for a long time, and I've never felt more identified with a song than her song "Main Actor". It's just beyond words what she's capable of communicate So glad you're making this videos, I'm loving them :)
Let's go more Minami! What she lacks in quantity of songs, she more than makes up for with quality, every single song of hers is a masterpiece I would highly recommend checking out.
For me personally, when I look for artists that I like, I never go/ seek out those with great techniques or having a "great voice" or what most people consider "good singers". I go for those who are genuine, and really connected to what they are singing. Those that mean and truly believe in what they are singing. Technique and polish can always be improved on, LiSA is a PRIME example of it. If you heard how she sounds like at the start of her career, most people(especially in mainstream) wouldve just not given her a second thought. But look at her now. Her technique has gotten so polished but her very essence, her genuine approach to her songs and performance are still the same as she did way back then. You can see and hear and FEEL it. And to me, Minami also has something similar to that, though i have not listened to Minami live like i had from LiSA, I believe I wouldnt be disappointed. And on that note, react to LiSA's old performances(especially lives) back in the early 2010s. Youll see what i mean.
@@klicka1 ya you can see her face but wasn’t allowed to take photos or videos during the concert. She doesn’t really hiding her identity, maybe she just doesn’t want the public to acknowledge her through her appearance but music.
Thank you Chris for disconnecting yourself for a little bit from the vocal analysis part and talking about your feelings too. That really adds to how you feel listening to powerful music like this.
thank you for reacting to more minami. one of the most underrated japanese artists and it always makes me sad she is not as well known as your usual suspects like Lisa, Ado, Aimer, etc
Some people have commented about checking out Main Actor next and I mostly agree with that, but Drop(specifically, the ending section) is what made Minami one of my favorite singers- not just of Japan, but in general.
As I'm learning Japanese right now, I've started listening to more and more Japanese music, Minami (美波)is just one of the best singers I've ever heard from Japan. Ado, Syudou, Minami, Stack (from 暁records) and a couple others are the main ones helping me learn a TON of words. If you go over a song from Stack again, PLEASE PLEASE do Psycholily. Genuinely insane singing, and you'd probably have a field day with it.
I tought I had finally stopped crying to this song (still tearing up), then you repeated a section in 12:17 and the waterfalls broke loose. I am a metalhead, but while metal packs anger and energy into a distilled sound, Minami packs sadness, regret, and emotions that are too complex to distil into a cohesive sentence. Now time to go get something to clean my drawing tablet from the tears QvQ
I find that singers are much too smooth in their way of singing in the majority of what we hear “industrialized” (pop, rock, rap...) and no longer allow themselves as much vocal madness. Where as the Japanese are more creative and free in their singing. They live their songs, the emotions linked to them, and convey it all in their voices, whether in music or anime. Emotions are omnipresent in their interpretation and emotion. Which is paradoxical in their everyday social lives. I think it's their way of expressing their emotions that they keep to themselves. And it's taking whether we understand the lyrics or not, emotions are enough to understand a context an emotion ... That's why I love music. For me, music should be a means of transmitting emotions and bringing them to life. The best universal expression. Thank you for your honest and true way of living with the songs you're listening to and discovering for the first time. And for your love for music !
Thank you for the great video! Minami is my favorite japanese artist so I throughoutly enjoyed this analysis. I love one her most recent songs called Time Gram, its such a banger and would love to see you react and give exposure to it! Main actor is an exceptional song. He should for sure listen to it.
