Its most definitely a fucking RUSH!!!! to think, going forth into the unknown, with only your wits and fists about you, and the terrible realization of the very air feeling heavy and suffocating as you begin to come around the fact that your chances have become immediately slim, practically none, youre looking at certain death, and just before you accept your undeniable fate regardless if you go down swinging or not, AGAIN THE AIR CHANGES but this time with the rallying war cries of YOUR FUCKING COMRADES! Its YOUR boys that storm the field of battle and their hearts are on fire and you can feel your own morale swell immeasurably. And then you just give it everything you got,
Johnny was the MVP in this scene. Remember what Leroy said to him earlier? "To seek safety, one must travel in to the heart of danger" and man did he ever!!! GO JOHNNY!!!
This movie may be old, but it still has an epicness to it, it feels like a tribute to one of those old school Beat-Em-Up games we loved so much whether it's Sega or Nintendo.
I miss beat em ups. The Warriors showed that the genre was still great if you added in counters, blocks, free roam 3rd person, environmental attacks and weapons. That game was satisfying when you blocked two punches and a kick countered a punch, pushed them against a window and delivered a high kick to temple forcing their head through the glass. That genre could still work if only they took fighting games and made them free roams.
Gungriffen The old Warriors movie also great that it represented old school beat-em-ups very well with it's setting, tone, and environment. I just wish that they make more beat-em-up now and days games or even more movies to represent it. Like the Double Dragon Neon game was good, but I felt it could have been better. Still it was a great throwback to the original.
Gungriffen I played it at my cousins house once, and at first was skeptical about the whole 3d roam environment beat-em-up, because most games in the beat-em-up style didn't work well like Final Fight Streetwise, but then I actually enjoyed it. Just like the movie, it actually took advantage of the genre. They did their research.
+Symphonia30 A lot of what made it great was blocking and countering but on top of that was contextual environmental attacks. Kicking people through glass windows, hitting them with doors, grabbing their heads and raking them down a fence, throwing them against a dumpster, slamming their heads into mirrors, pushing someone back having them trip over a fence. Then being able to use next to everything that could be held in two hands as a weapon add in the co-op attacks trading punches and kicks on a target or holding or throwing them into a team mate to be taken down. That's what set that game apart and with third person view you were free to roam solo or run and grab a knife or bat and come back without being hindered to one screen. I wish they had made another.
I love this scene. I still lose my sh*t every time all his students come to his rescue.... I'm not sure which part is the best, Eddie's overall epicness: "The guest list has been compiled, so that you go out in style", Johnny punching a guy and being surprised by it, or the little guy standing up for his bud. Just F-in A awesome, all of it. One of my favorite 80's movies ever. ....nigga please...
This fight paved the way for Streets of Rage and Final Fight. You got your 3 to 5 heroes fighting against every bad guy archetype: The Fat Man, The Chain Guys, The Elite Thugs, The Lowly Thugs all set against a colorful, dirty club with what sounds like Final Fights first level theme. Dope to the max
True, But Today They Wouldnt Be Allowed To Portay The "Thugs" As Black Ppl, They Would Have To Make Them White Men Wearing MAGAhats So Everybody Could Agree
Leroy was so spiritually intune with himself and the Universe that the Universe wouldn't allow him to be harmed that's why his students had his back. This was the climax of the movie but it took the ass kicking from Sho Nuff to realize the Master is within You.
Rondreas Bates 💯Bro you made a good point! And I really believe that's the way it is with all of us! Like if we get in tune with the universe the Most High and the Universe will keep us protected and away from harm

some Asian kids are that smart to even beat up their babysitter one Christmas year and tore open the presents but when the parents got home they gave him a good butt spanking lol
I love Johnny’s arc in this movie. Simply because I can relate to him. His is jumping in the deep end and swimming when other expect him to sink. As soon as he landed that shot he became a force...
This movie IS my favorite movie. This movie turned me onto WIllie Hutch. In community college I took a sign language course and the final was a song, that we had to play to the class and sign it as it played. I chose Willie Hutch's Inside you from The Last Dragon
How has this not been made into a video game? All the elements are here. Story mode, crazy boss fights, power ups, multiplayer... even training modes with his teacher.
I always thought this movie looked fun as hell to make. Every kid that learned martial arts in the 80s and 90s wanted to be like Bruce Lee. Such a nostalgic movie.
One of the greatest fight scenes of all time. Which other movie has a scene where an entire martial arts school comes to the aid of its master? Super cool original ending.
Still one of my favorite movies to this day. One of the first dojo's I trained at had a picture of Taimak (Leroy), in the hallway leading to our main training area. We also had a side-by-side photo of one of the school's Sensei's performing an extremely high side kick w/Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. It was pretty awesome.

He's an adult in The Rundown. When he was a teen he played the pizza delivery kid who helps the turtles in TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. Check him out on IMDB. He's done a bunch.
Foreal they probably was playing tribute to Bruce lee just like when leroy was wearing all yellow and black just like Bruce lee in the game of death movie
This scene reminds me of Enter the Dragon final battle scene. Bruce Lee and Roper against the whole island but the odds are evened out when all the prisoners in black come out and joined. Giving Bruce a chance to chase Han. Bruce Leroys students coincidentally also in black attire came out and leveled the playing field giving Leroy a chance to chase the Eddie Arkadian

Movie critics suck!
It’s a true classic
Everyone knows movie critics suck ass 🥴😫
All Johnny need was a little confidence! But when he got it, Johnny was unstoppable!! LOVE this scene!
True 🙂
One of my favorite parts when he lets loose with the nunchucks and Leroy shouts out YOU GOT IT JOHNNY
Who’s the master ?!
I’ve heard that the last person that the kid fought and then break dance to, was his father. Don’t know if it’s true or not.
Johnny's manic behaviour is what gave him his speed and strength😅👍🏻💯 he was unbeatable when he's nuts..lol.. great movie.
It doesn't matter how old I get, this is still one of my favorite parts of the movie. You gotta love a rescue that evens the odds for the hero!
It also showcased an old principle of the martial arts - loyalty of one's students to one's master.
