    I couldn't decide on either so I ended up with both. I love both of them equally. The 6DII is AWESOME for self photography and video. The 5DIV is just..awesome in general.
    Before anyone asks, no I'm not rich, I just found good deals through marketplace and pawn shops. The 5DIV has the 24-70 L II lens on it at all times, and I go back and forth between the 70-200 F4 and an 85mm on the 6DII.
    Both of them hold their own very, very well.

    Wow, I didn't realize the 5d was still that expensive! At that price, I'd be looking at going the Eos R/R6 route instead!

      I think that was the whole point in canon's pricing. Look how many mirrorless cameras there are, it definitely feels like canon is pushing their share of the market towards mirrorless.

      Same. Still on 600D, and been looking at the 6D MKII for a while, now instead 5D MKIV (both would be major upgrades I'm sure I'd enjoy for a long time), but recently the R6 due to the pricing vs. tech.

      5D IV is a great camera but gor the price you can get a Canon R6. The Canon R5 is way better than any other Canon camera. Otherwise I enjoy the 5D IV very much. Try to find one used and if you can afford a Canon R5 go for it. If not the 5D IV will not be a very good option.

    Just bought a 5D Mk4 in mint condition with 5000 clicks for a really low price of 1300 Euro's as an upgrade from my 7D Mk2. Really happy with the quality of the camera an pictures.

    Ahh man we really miss our 6d mk2. It was our first full frame camera! Honestly, with the right lens it's still a great camera, especially if you can find a good used one. We just couldn't live long term with the focus points all being clumped in the middle, that's a big reason to go for the 5D mk4 instead, and the lack of 4k and the dynamic range was quite limiting at times, even our 80D had 13.2 EV i think. Side by side they both look great, I don't know if it's a placebo effect but the 5D just looks a little crisper to me, but yeah overall the 6d mk2 is still great for what it is! As your friend said, it's a great enthusiast/hobby level camera!

    5DMarkIV vs 6DMarkII, both full frame, both DSLR's, both legends, but should you get one in 2021? 🤔

      Yes, I'm looking at the 6dmkii. Can't afford a mirrorless one at the moment and I'd like to upgrade to a full frame as I'm doing more and more concert photography. Full frame will handle the dark venues better at the higher ISOs than my 7dmkii crop.

      i have exactly this 2 options in mind. want to upgrade from EOS M50 (APSC) to full frame. I found a deal where the difference between this 2 used ones are $300 in used market.. should i push for 5d Mark4 or would be just fine with 6d Mark2? My main purpose is bird photography

      I got the 6d ii this week, in 2023, yes. I sold my RP. The 6d ii slows me down, makes me think more about composition, and the battery lasts forever. For video I have an XT-4, but for Photography the 6d ii is amazing. The RP was fun but it lacked soul in my opinion.

    I own both. Was not really happy with the 6d ii in low lght/high ISO. Found a bargain 5d iv for 2250€ and it is better. The difference in dynamic range shows as soon as the light goes low! OK, the articulating screen speaks for the 6d ii but the screen of the 5d iv allows you to use it at quite some angles. The spread of AF-points is another issue. I do no video. I´ll keep both so I have a backup when ever needed. currently I have no interest to go mirrorless!

    • @DavidChristmas
      @DavidChristmas 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, I also have the 80D and I'm considering to get the 6D Mk II for low light shots and portraits since it gives a shallower depth of field and better low light performance due to the larger sensor. Would you say it's worth getting the 6D Mk II even though I have the 80D? I don't really want to spend too much money on full frame mirrorless cameras which is why I've been considering a DSLR.

    • @svhartuk
      @svhartuk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's a shame, but it really depends on what you want from a camera. 4K is a big thing these days for videography, but for photography the camera works well, even 1080p video is still usable for professional work. It depends on who your target audience/clientele is, and the level of work you want to produce.

    I have a 5d3 and debating another camera to add 4k at high frame-rate. I considered the 5d4, but the video limitations are almost not an improvement over the 5d3 for what I’m trying to get.
    Which full-frame camera would you get?
    Would you mind including a non-full frame as well?
    I prefer not to buy something that I’d have to update soon after.
    Thank you for your help.

      Great question - I'm actually waiting for the R3 to be released to hopefully see a drop in the R6 or R5, I have funds for one of those and am hoping with the imminent release of the R3 I might be able to grab a bargain, having used both the R5 and R6 I can say that their 4K / Clog features are far better than the 5DmarkIV. That is what I plan on doing and would recommend the same course to anyone upgrading from the 5D series specifically looking for 4K filming (from a Canon users perspective) - Hope that helps. (:

      I appreciate the response. That makes sense.
      I’ll do the same then.
      I assume the R5 is the one to get if able?
      I understand the following isn’t always the case, but assuming it still happens:
      Does the R5 still have overheating issues?
      Do both (R5 & R6) have an overheating issue or just the R5?
