Great video Russ. I think your cliff notes are spot on. The only thing I would elaborate on is how good Vince's first solo record actually is. Steve Steven's absolutely slays on this, I feel every song is a gem. Probably my favorite solo artist album from a rock band other than maybe Don Dokken's "Up From the Ashes". - cheers

That's good to know about the bootlegs..I have a friend who just ordered one and he is very worried it might not sound good. I really wish Crue would just reissue this album.
I was a music buyer at Best Buy when this came out. WEA had high hopes for this release. We sold them an endcap, and we bought about 300 CDs for our store. Tuesday came and went, and it was a dog. We played it in the department, and it's a good album. Crue fans were a fickle bunch, and this would have been more successful as "check out who John Corabi is jamming with". It was really unfortunate. However WEA turned their frown upside down when Far Beyond Driven was released a week later.
it's their best album, do not @ me. I bought this vinyl in 1994, from a record store in Kenosha WI. I couldn't believe it when I found it, my copy is brand new. I also bought Faster Pussycat Whipped! on vinyl from the same store that day.
Easily my fave Crüe album. Love the Quaternary EP as well. I have wanted this on vinyl for years and almost bought a copy last year until I saw the back of the sleeve and saw a group pic with Vince on it.
The copies with the Vince picture are bootlegs. I haven't heard one yet, but I'm told they sound really good. This is my favorite Crue album too and I really wish they'd reissue it. The one in this video is a legitimate original pressing but I got it years before the price went through the roof.
To be honest, I don't think I ever knew this was pressed on vinyl. It really is a shame that people automatically dismissed this album simply because Vince was gone, because they missed out on a really good album.
I'm not sure when I found out it was pressed but as soon as I found out, I was like "that's a MUST own". I couldn't agree more that it's a shame that it's so overlooked. This is an album I feel like I'm on a personal quest with. Whenever someone comes over to spin records and happens to mention they haven't heard it, this pressing comes out in seconds lol
Very cool. I've always heard great things about him. Next time he comes through Detroit, I'd like to try to get this LP signed. I've heard he's very cool about it, so it's worth a shot.
Motley Crue always slipped past me, never really checked them out other than (I think) Dr Feelgood on CD 10 years ago. Will have to check this out though!
If you've never been into, this is a great place to start. Completely different sound than their other albums. Harder rock, better lyrics for the most part and far more complex arrangements on some songs than anything they did before and sadly, after.
I don't think this record was forgotten by Motley Crue. As far as having it reprinted on vinyl, I think Nikki doesn't want to pay royalties to John Corabi.
I would think they money they'd make overall would far outweigh the money they'd pay John. Plus, John has reissued his own live version of this album and sold that with no issue whatsoever.

This was the best Crue album period. The sound, the songs...they never sounded better. Tommy Lee's drums are on 🔥🥁

I hear ya. I really wish they would reissue it. It seems like every other week they reissue the first 4 albums, then nothing after that.
I probably own everything to do with the 94 lp. Vinyl, cassette, cd. Mini cassette, shirts, hats , everything.
That's awesome. There's a few albums I'm that way with. I've collected tons of stuff like that for certain albums.
