    the Candian pressing is easy to spot because it has a leaf in the corner on the back

      Yes, but the second Canadian press, with the remix, also has the maple leaf in the corner.

    97FM in Wpg did homegrown projects in 1987 and 88. Later, Citi FM did one called Citi Streets . There was also a Christmas album featuring a number of local acts. I have them all. Always loved supporting local Winnipeg talent when I lived there.

    I have that same TFFL version as well. Rarer than hens teeth. Tom Zutant said he figured about 2,000 copies were pressed, with only 500 of them being the promo version. Discogs shows the high price for that album at $175.00. If more people were aware of this album I'm sure it would be worth a lot more.

    I was never a big Motley Crew fan but did listen to that first album quite a bit when it first came out early in my highschool days. Still, that was a very cool bit of information regarding the pressings. I eat that stuff up. Always love to learn about those. A friend of mine had the album that we listened to, but can't remember the label pressing. It may have been the leather pressing because I do remember the smaller band name on front. Still cool bit of info.
    Please keep those coming!

    Was in HS when Crue came out with Shout at the Devil. Back tracked and picked up Too Fast for Love, Elecktra pressing and still have both of my originals. Didn’t know until a few years ago that there was a Leathur Records version. Cool to hear about the Canadian pressings. On a related note, my first concert ever was early 1984 in Cincinnati, Ohio…. Ozzy’s Bark at the Moon tour with Motley Crue opening up. Unbelievable show!

    I dig the record of the week idea. I've been doing my most rare albums on Thursdays but I think I'll switch to just regular albums I love once I'm through the rarest ones in my collection. I never did get around to grabbing the early mix of Too Fast For Love but I do have their S/T album from 1994 which is pretty rare.

  • @jambogeordie
    @jambogeordie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Picked up my Too Fast white label Canada promo at a Toronto record show about 25 yrs ago. I had heard the missing tracks and demos on some cassette bootlegs I had acquired so just figured it was a cool collectible. Never played it as I was hooked on cd's at the time. My buddy found it for 5 bucks in a bin and I gave him a 5 dollar finders fee-10 total. About 5 years ago I was given a new turntable as a gift and it was the first album I played. I was blown away by the mix...i figured Stick to Your Guns was the only difference! And also the inner photo which is different than the traditional Elektra TFFL. The record had never been played but has been several times now. In fact a few years ago i invited a few fellow Crueheads over for a listening party. They too were blow away. More Cowbell! And more Mick Mars. This is the best mix of one of the best and most important rock/metal albums of the 80's. Ask Green Day or Pearl Jam about its influence-who knew? Now-on with the show.

    • @Channel33RPM
      @Channel33RPM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. The original mix so much much better... really raw. I remember the first time I heard the remix of Live Wire, I wondered what happened to the applause during the breaks.

    • @jambogeordie
      @jambogeordie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Channel33RPM lol so true! Heard the "clapping" mix on the Japanese Raw Tracks cd decades ago. Thought it was cool but I thought wow...thats the only difference from the original album and I paid 40 bucks for this! (a days pay in those days). Little did I know the entire original mix was a Raw Track. If you are a deep diver I love Running Wild in the Night from (I believe) the Shout demos. Best non released Crue song (since Black Widow is on Red White and Crue)

  • @CARLiCON
    @CARLiCON 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    cool,a friend of mine bought the Leathür records album out of a bargain bin long before they were famous & way before the Elektra remix came out, but it was not Canadian, it was an import from Germany & also did have Stick To Your Guns on it. Nobody had heard of them. Interestingly it was not called Too Fast For Love (as yours is) even though it did have that song. It just said Motley Crew on it, so there must have been multiple versions of the Leathür records edition.

    I've got a half dozen local band albums from the late 70's. Two of them were from radio station contests. A roommate of mine got a crazy bedroom recording called "The Unfortunate Chef" onto one of the albums. This burned the heck out of another guy I worked with who's band spent a crapload of money in the studio on the multiple songs they'd submitted (they all sounded like bad Cars). We got to play a set at First Avenue to celebrate the album release. The other radio station album was pressed on Twin Tone records and , amazingly, a whole lot of Twin Tone artists wound up winning spots on the album. Twin Tone was a pretty legendary Minneapolis label but they weren't what you would call altruistic.
