    John Corabi is a real dude. I love hearing this because he doesn't hold back. I just heard this thing on the radio where Nikki issued an ultimatum to Vince to get in shape or they were bringing John back, and John basically said, "No, you're not!"

      @@realsinisterminister Nikki couldn't even play bass in the early days! He auditioned for Quiet Riot & didn't even know how to play an "F" note. He tried out for Blackie Lawless's early bands such as "Sister" with the same results. He lasted in "London" for a short time only because they were inexperienced & badly needed a bass player. When he plays live with Motley Crue these days, sometimes he isn't seen even playing his bass yet you hear the bass backing tracks blaring through the PA speaker! A bullshit artist? Yeah, I would think so.

    My old roommate “Barry” was the runner / studio assistant for Scott Humphreys who produced Generation Swine and a few other records. Anytime Barry messed up the Crue would tally it up and each mistake equaled another In & Out patty and at the end of the week he would have to eat a 10 x 10 burger in reprimand sitting in the tub. I think Corabi nailed it - anyone in the midst of a debilitating heroin addiction, fighting off dope sickness every fucking day with every second and every penny, is not likely to have the wherewithal to write this experience down in a fucking diary. Most addicts don't have the resources to spring for the pen and paper. If Nikki had spent any time talking to people at the methadone clinic he claims to have attended, he would know as much. Almost every addict has the same tragic tale of wrecked lives and dreams. Sure, Nikki Sixx dabbled for a couple of years and ODd in his mansion after selling millions of records, but by and large, his heroin days were manaufactured. Everything about Motley Crue was manufactured and planned out. Ask anyone who knew them in the early days. The dude has NO IDEA what heroin addiction is really like for most people.
    Adults are responsibile for making their own decisions, but imagine how many kids were influenced to use heroin because their hero and rock star inextraordinaire, Nikki Sixx, glamorized it? The dude published a book and crafted a band around exploiting it. Between heroin and Tommy Lee's home porn, they have managed to sustain a career post-Dr. Feelgood, which was the their last commercially successful studio album with hits. That was what - 1989??
    Nikki Sixx should donate every fucking dime he has to helping heroin addicts through recovery. He's a grifter who has contributed to the death and destruction of many lives.

    • @lopear111

      I think you nailed it. I'm 57 and grew up on British metal. The LA based "hair bands" of the 80's were more about image than talent. Sure, some had some great songs, but you wonder how much of that was production and how much was talent. It took Axl Rose firing the whole band and hiring a bunch of studio pros to play like he wanted the songs to sound. I also think rock is a young man's game. These old farts standing in front of a teleprompter in their Depends singing songs from the1970's, come on!

      It was a movie, so it’s glamorized, and some of the details with like Greg Leon, the true first guitar player for what eventually would be motley Crue. But I was there, that’s pretty much how it was.
      I don’t know if I could sit through this interview, I don’t know what he said that people are pissed about in the comments. But other than that, what parts really stuck out to you as fiction?
      I actually know their first drummer, Bill Snyder too, the one with the first drum set to go perpendicular. Bill liked Tommy, who was maybe five years younger than them. He just quit the band at some point also. They were all still pretty unknown at the time. Greg Leon was in Dolken before George Lynch also.
      I’ve heard recently (that the first guitar player they showed in dirt), would’ve really been Greg Leon. Who was a great guitar player and singer. So Mick certainly didn’t come in and blow him away, ha ha. I’m not sure who the guy in the movie was depicting. Maybe there was a different guy after Greg that was kind of that doofus in the movie. But I believe Greg just quit the band before Mick joined. Not exactly sure of the timeline, I could check. Just thought I would chime in. 😝🎸🤘🏻

      And it pisses me off that he wants to capitalize on a story about fake addiction as if its true.
      Many people know it's all bs. Adrean Vandenburg said he didnt see any signs of Nikki being on heroin during that tour. And nobody else did either. I saw that tour in 87. Nikki seemed fine. Also there has been many claims from people like Slash that said Nikki was never a full-blown heroin addict. Nikki just wants to feel cool so he says he was hooked. What an idiot! Because anybody that has been a full-blown heroin addict can tell from a mile away that Nikki is full of shit.

    • @dgenerated
      @dgenerated ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What are you talking about?. You may think some of the tales of the band and Nikki's debauchery and addictions we're embellished and maybe (to an extent) they were, though there are plenty of people/bands around during those years that state the band and their excesses we're Exactly how they were told!. Have you never heard of "Jim Carroll, William Burroughs, or functional addicts?".. Heroin/opiate addiction is a Hell I would wish on no one, but there are Plenty of functional addicts that you would never guess in a million years had a habit!.. Unfortunately I know this from experience and while most do fit the stereotype of a junkie, it is definitely Not the case for everyone, so to assume Nikki wasn't a junkie is both unfounded and ignorant!.. Nikki also states in "The Heroin Diaries & The Dirt" that he was only hooked as a regular user for only 1 year and prior to that flirted with pills and then dope and did the "merry-go-round"(no pun intended) for a few years prior to the drug consuming him!.. Heroin affects different people differently and can make "one person nod and give another focus and energy" it depends on many factors, length of use, if other drugs are involved, your genetics, why you're using, etc. Nikki started the same time with dope as Robbin Crosby of RATT and you have two entirely different outcomes..One guy got clean before it completely destroyed and bankrupted him and one sadly did not and followed the more typical outcome of heroin addiction!.. If you read the books/did the research, etc you would know that Nikki drank and did coke far more often and for far longer than he did junk!... Excuse the rant for anyone that may read this, but I hate reading comments on here and hearing opinions based on ignorance and the trolls that don't like the band (or especially Nikki) that come on here and post petty BS about not believing he was an addict/alcoholic, completely not understanding the disease of addiction and bashing the guys importance in the band due to his simplistic and straightforward bass playing, regardless of Nikki being the primary songwriter and lyricist of the band!.. Someone will post a response to my comment about drugs or Nikki's contributions to the band without doing any research, to which I will Not respond!....
