I feel like many people forget how large geological timescale is and how little data we really have on it. This is something that's lasted millions upon millions of years. There's been an ice age, such high ocean waters that most of America was under water. We really only understand what happens on a geological timescale of a few hundred years compared to the millions. So being sceptical if it's us or just the path of the earth is hard to tell and measure.
For a few hundred years the earth has been on a warming phase, before large scale industrial revolution. So is the earth naturally heating or is it us.
If you actually read this post fully and if you care for my own opinion, it's the mix of both and the fear of uncertainty. I think there is plenty of contribution that we have added to the heating of the planet, but can we reverse it, that's a huge question. I think leaving less of a footprint would be great overall though and much better for future generations, but at the end of the day if mother nature wants to heat us up for a bit and kill us, then there isn't much we can do. Be the best that we can, and don't believe everything you read, question and challenge what you are told.

There is actually one more factor to the thermohaline circulation which was not mentioned in thia video. When the arctic water freezes and forms pack ice, the pack ice doesn't contain any salt and hence the surrounding waters have an increased level of salinity. This leads to the described flow of relatively dense water into the deeps of the ocean. This downwardspulling water creates an area with less "preasure" and therfore trigger the surrounding waters to fill its place, which leads to the creation of the Gulf Stream. Warmer temperatures would however have a similar effect because the melting ice shields would lower the salinity of the surrounding water which in turn couldn't sink as easily etc.
But I am actually not too sure if this really is that significant to the gulf stream as the last time this made a diffrence was, when the ice shield which covered entire f****ng Canada and Greenland melted. And the Greenland ice shield is far away from this size and unlikely to melt entirely in the next 10 years.

I live in central Europe. This will nicely weigh out the warming of our planet, at least where I live. The real issue is that we will have longer dry periods and they will not be local, but across the whole country. On the other hand, there should be more snow in winter, which will melt in the spring, this there will be a build-up of water that will be released in spring. It is vital to catch this water and not let it all drain away.
