There are 2 movies about Zzyzx Road that are release in 2006: one is this movie, Zyzzyx Road, which made $30.
While other is called Zzyzx, which, according to wiki, have the budget/box office of $1 million, and it took 9 days to shoot.

That Bad BLU Spy Actually it’s based of Mohave County, Arizona. Radiator Springs’s location in the movie is the same as a real town called Peach Springs. The town itself is modeled after several towns along Route 66.

I was actually one of the 4 other people who saw it. I was going to school down the street and needed something to do for a few hours one night. I used to drive by that road frequently and thought it would be interesting. I guess I’m apart of history!

A lot of the comments on this video seem to have missed the point that the $30 box office was deliberate and doesn’t account for DVD earnings
True. But its DVD earning aren't much to write home about. It made $368,000 by the end of 2006. Unlikely it ever recouped its $1.2 million production cost.

Something sound off. Usually the people who made the movie are supposed to make money or at least try breaking even. If you make 30 dollars on a 1.2 million dollar movie it's either the worst movie on record, trying to break a world with the lowest movie income or making yourself look like a complete douchebag by making 20 to 30 buck wasting everyone's time and effort. if I'm going to make a movie at least I'd try to break even or go for the world record of making the worst movie on Earth or Lowet budget ever on a world record. If I made a movie with no intention to make almost money or record I'd look like a total douchebag

I have been down Zzyzx road, and even spent a weekend there. Zzyzx is actually a very cool place that includes a castle, and abandoned railroad, a cult connection, a prehistoric animal, awesome views of the desert, and a fantastic place for star gazing.
But does it have a log ride? If not, I ain’t going.

I've been on a few roadtrips driving out on I-15 from Cali to Utah and I always see that sign wondering where that road goes... you have no clue how satisfying this video is.

The funniest part about this to me is that since it was aired 7 times, but only 6 people showed up total, that means that there was at least one screening that was completely empty. Like a cinema is just playing a movie on the big screen and literally no one is watching it.

When I went to Vegas, we picked up a shot up mannequin and his boot (he only had one leg left) off of Zzyzx road, took pictures and he hitchhiked with us there and back. Ol' Zzyzx, who was indeed named after the goofy location, now lives with my friend and his family, chilling in their backyard.

You should’ve added in that the movie absolutely bombed overseas as well it only made 368k dollars. They did so bad in fact they released the movie on dvd in North America in 2010. It was pirated more times than people actually purchased it

All I'm learning from these videos of movie profits is that Hollywood knows no limits when it comes to greed.
Revisiting this video after Dropout revealed that this is, in fact, only the second worst scam involving Zyzyx Road. The first, per Dropout, is that the founder allegedly grabbed a bunch of guys from skid row, drove them out to Zyzyx, and said "you can work for me or you can find your own way back".
Back in the Sixties, there was a radio preacher named Brother Curtis Springer, who broadcast from what he claimed was a ten-thousand acre estate that belonged to God, in the heart of the great Mojave Desert, at Zyzzyx Mineral Springs. He pronounced it Zi (long i) zeks (short e), to rhyme with "Size X". I've mentioned this place to people, and they pronounce it with the long i, too.
I’ve passed the exit Zyzzx road when I was on vacation in Cali 😁 at the first moment I thought, somebody fell asleep over the keyboard 😁
The road is located along a popular freeway going from Southern California directly to Las Vegas. It has its own very large exit sign. It’s strange name intrigues everyone on a road trip driving on that stretch of freeway so much so that kids always ask their parents what it means, why it’s such a weird name, how did it get that name, etc. like we’d even talk about it in class rooms. This is because it’s somewhat near Death Valley and Area 51. They could have written a much much more popular movie with a more interesting premise.
There is also a song by Stone Sour by this name, making this road more famous than my home town.

It cost me $40 when I went to see 2019's Frozen 2 at the IMAX theater at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, and that includes the bus ticket from Wildwood to Atlantic City and back, the cost of the ticket for the movie and a bucket of popcorn and a soda

the road is pronounced “Zie-Zek” and there’s a science camp there that i stayed at over the weekend as a requirement for a science class at my university. it was pretty fun and we hiked out into the desert and searched for scorpions with UV flashlights at night.
What's interesting is there is a separate movie called Zyzyx that was released about 2 weeks before Zyzzyx Road was and also involves people going to Vegas, lol

As an independent filmmaker this makes me feel a little better about my first movie that cost $40,000 of my own money to produce and only made back $400. A 99% loss is still better than what these people managed to do.

I see Tom Sizemore on the cover and I know all I need to hear. a few years ago I asked him on Twitter how much it would cost to film him getting drunk then going to wal mart to fight people. he said $40 grand a week. wonder how much he made for this flick.
I recommend the film if you haven't seen it. Yes, I did only watch it after hearing about it's bombing a few years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a decent thriller.
It still did better than 'An Inconvenient Truth' by Al Gore.

While on the way to the infamous Zyzzyx rd if you're heading north you will reach a an exit called Lenwood rd. There you will find a Del Taco. Stop at this Del Taco. It will change how you view Del Taco's. Why? Because it is not owned by Del Taco Holdings, Inc. it is still owned by Ed Hackbarth one of the original founders. Because the quality is bar none miles above what you can get at any other fast food joint.
Eating there will cost you about $10 too. So half of what this movie made.
