1:33 fixed it on my golf when i had it, pretty easy i went to the junkyard, cut a piece of foam out, glued it in. trimmed it to the original state, a little bit more glue on the cuts/lines. and redid the fabric and it was as good as new. But make sure you first glue in a bigger piece, because when you pre cut it, it will be to small in some occasions. Good luck

@@Mk3Smith I thought it looked pretty close to the mk3 sport seat foam. 🤔 if nothing else trim a foam top and 3m it in place. You already know you are going to re-do the seats again when you do the leather trimmed recaros. Save the money for the good seats. So are you gonna flip the gti or is it coming to the States when you come back? I noticed your plans for it are TUV compliant lol..
@@PieterKuijk you sure the mk3 sport seat foam is the same? The Ibiza has two seams on top of the bolster and it’s more flat where the mk3 has only one seam and kinda rounds over
My upper bolster on the recaros were worn bad, I cut up foam from an old seat (another mk3) and cut it flush, get some adhesive in there before so the foam doesn't move around. Then get some calico from ebay or amazon and cut a couple 1 inch strips, use it how stitches are applied to wounds (across the hole and glue down, this will strengthen the bolster too. Have you decided what engine you're going to put in the GTI? Can an ABF engine be swapped in or maybe a 16v head swap? That would be sweet and factory setup-ish.
will you put in one of those golf bike carbs? One carb on one cylinder, maybe it will have less power and burn more fuel but damn its look cool and sound even better

I’ll keep an eye out but we’ve only ever had one Mk2 seat Ibiza come to the yard so far lol

That is exactly what I did 2 years back. Mk3 sport seats are all the same, cabrios came standard with them and even some 6n and 6n2 polos.

Dude, the belts look great, but I would have waited and got the mk3 anniversary belts as when it comes to seat belts it's safety first.
I mean they both work the same but I put the Ibiza belts in the mk3 housing so now it’s just like Oem
