the PA 14 360 is $4799.00. In Florida it'll run you $5136.00 after tax. just ordered mine a couple weeks ago. This dudes kayak with everything he has on it will run you roughly 9k to 10k if everything was bought brand new.
I'm curious about your wheel system for transport and the bar that the wheels slide into that is bolted to your kayak. Did you fabricate that bit or purchase it? I have a 133x by ascend and its 13 ft long so I'm in need of a better system.

How’s the heading lock feature on the pa14? If you press heading lock at full speed will it Keep you going in one direction? I have a xi3 with pinpoint on my native Titan and heading lock only works well at very slow speed. My friends autopilot 120 works perfectly at high speed with heading lock.
Depends on the type. GPS trolling motors should be installed on the bow. Other basic ones can be installed near the seat so you can move them however you want.
do you have any regrets with this gps trolling brand? i'm looking to get a gps trolling motor but not sure which to get (MK or Motor Guide xi3) .. seeing some conflicting reviews between the two brands. Any insight from you would be great. Do you still have it and still performance the way you expected, especially the splot lock feature?
Didn't test the XI3 but I have never had an issue with MK. I still have it, very durable, I used it in salt and fresh water with no issue. Spot lock is a great feature against wind and current.
I am mounting a Terrova 55 on a Old Town Predator MX with a minn kora slide quick release. Did you mount any block of wood or plastic on the inside to of hull to prevent pull thru?
Did you cut the shaft on your trolling motor? I have a PA14 and a 15 tracker grizzly. I want to buy a xi3 48 inch shaft to use on both kayak and grizzly but don’t want to cut the shaft in order to use on PA14.
yes , the head unit has silicone gasket protects it from water damage , I usually clean it with spraying water and no damage so far. important note , make sure to buy saltwater unit !
No, I don't. If you have PA14 and getting water inside the hull then make sure your rod tubes are sealed. I have not had any water since I sealed them.
Richard Chao yes , It just sticks out like 4 foot and I dont need to remove middle seats . I use 3 cam straps , one for each h rail to handles on sliding door openings and one for the hatch , I will do a video later to show how I do.

A real nice setup for the trolling motor. I almost went with the H-17 plate but read your post and seeing your video I think I like yours better. I went the company website and only could see 3 pictures. Would you be ok with sending me the mounting instructions so I can see how it mounts. I can determine that you remove the handle (same as pa17) and place the mount to the nose and reinstall the handle. My concern is the mounting toward the hatch before I spend 165.00. If you will copy and send I would appreciate it. Just reply and I will send number to text to. I have a 2020 Pa 14, my second one. I have done the trolling motor on the aft but with a Power Pole and Spot lock trolling motor on the bow is the way to go, Thank you Mustafa.
There is a written instruction to mount the bracket but overall it's very simple. You remove the handle and remove the straps from front hatch. Drill little bit bigger holes for rear mounting part and put the straps and the rest together. Only the issue I had that I needed to bend the legs to make it perfect fit (not all kayaks are perfect shape), which you should do after heating the metal to avoid paint chip. I believe you won't need a power pole , spotlock is much more better :) I'll do another video once I have time to show parts and install steps.
Seems a little unnecessary to upgrade to the 360 drive. You are literally paying a premium price for the PA 360 for the new mirage drive and you're not even using it. you could have paid half the price for an 17-18 model with the MD 180, since you primarily use the Minn Kota. Nonetheless, it's a sweet setup and i'm very jealous.

Really cool setup thanks for sharing! Curious, have you had any issues offshore with the extra weight in the bow? Was thinking of doing something similar on my PA14, but was worried adding that weight would make the bow ride lower in the water, causing more water to come over the bow when riding offshore. And I know that front hatch isnt exactly water-tight so you could end up in an uncomfortable situation. Curious to know your experience this far.
Good question. I only fish backwater (Chesapeake Bay) so I don't have offshore open water experience. The bow mount trolling motor puts some weight (35 lbs) on the bow but not that much to notice, maybe 1 or 2 " difference. I got a couple of heavy weaves (almost lost the rod in my hand) due to high-speed boats but no water went inside the hull. The gasket around the front hatch is very good and most of the time the actual source of the leak is the rod holders. I have applied silicone and fully sealed them so no water leak from them as well. In my opinion, PA14 is only good for calm weather on open water, having a bow mount is not that much of a difference. If you really want to go open water then make sure you seal the rod holders and other lower points, hatch seal is not that big of a problem in my opionion.
Also, I was thinking to design windshield-kind-of plexiglass to attach my bow to stop waves but I didn't do it since there was no water inside the hull after a couple of big waves.
Seems like way too much work to put that motor on and get it going, should have just bought an Old Town Sportsman 136 for when you don't feel like pedaling your Hobie 360. I have both, use the H360 when I want the exercise and the OT when I want to chill on the water and drink vodka.Nice video though.
I bought the Riptide 54" 55lbs 12v with Autopilot (not link) and the reason for Riptide is because I go to Chesapeake Bay (salt water). My shaft length is 33".
