From an enthusiast point of view, I think that a spray is great for those weekends when you want to have a clean glossy car but don't have the time or energy to go at it. But the liquids or pastes are nice for those therapeutic weekends when you want to forget about everything and just detail the crap out of your ride..

I used the hybrid ceramic spray wax on my dark blue ford four months ago and I have to say, it was so easy to apply, remove, and it made the paint look much better than the Collinite insulator wax. Four months later still beading and still glossy and slick. I can’t wait to try this.

Great review as always Brian I still prefer a paste sealant or wax and the sprays for toppers when needed. Still love the collinite, fusso and power lock . Something about the prep and work that’s put in to applying them is therapeutic and rewarding to me.

Just used this today i have never been one to wax any of my cars. But just got a new one and want to keep that color deep. This was easy to use, I only washed the car first since I just bought it. It had a full detail done already. Then applied this to it. Super easy to take off it took me about 2 hours because I'm slow and wanted to get the best results plus it said wait 3-5 minutes per panel application. Paint turned out showroom deep glass like. 👍

I have been using this for months. This stuff is amazing and my customers love it. Its very durable when the paint is prepped. I make an all in out of it. By using a few drops of my favorite water based swirl removers a couple two drops of a medium fine and a couple drops of a couple drops of their ultra fine. Then i poor a thick ring of this stuff around it on a lite cutting pad. I work it quickly into the paint with a 21mm polisher and everytime it has come out lile glass. zero swirls . i do this in direct sun light where i have seen the paint reach temps of 160. Thats just the way it is here in sw fl. You cant let it dry on the car for more than 15 sec. I do about 4 or 5 quick cross hatch passes . wait about 10 sec and wipe off.
I did this on a black Lincoln Aviator that came back to me because she closed the garage door and it scraped her car . nothing a little 2000 grit wouldnt fix. Well let me tell you that i had a horrible time cutting through this stuff getting to the paint . i don't recommend mixing it with just any swirl removers. I tried a few different ones and it was a horrible experience. m just saying with the right ones its amazing. I think because its getting cut into the paint and baked on by the sun that made so hard to sand through. Just my educated guess.

  • @deregulationIC
    @deregulationIC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Maybe an idea for another way to test durability, is sprinkling dust or fine sand on the panel, and rinsing it away. Like to simulate driving and dirt/gravel flying on your point.

I am doing a cosmetic paint restoration on my 2003 Harley Davidson with white and blue pearl. The paint is pasty white (no blue pearl). I am using Meguiars waxing procedures as shown on TH-cam. Excellent results with the blue pearl, incredible and the shine and depth is amazing. Why are you suggesting to wait 24 / 48 hours after applying the ceramic wax? Is this a curing time? Excellent video a pleasure to learn from the experts. I know nothing about deltailing

I think the issue between spray or liquid comes down the final wipe down. Most spray require immediate removal else they can streak. If you can do the entire car and then come back to final buff then that means the same effort. Saves time in the job.

I'm very interested in seeing how Meguiar's progresses with all their products, by default they set their bar high, being owned by 3M, 3M has a lot of resources, cream of the crop Chemists. 3M does about $32B in sales and employees 90,000 people, and allows it's employees to use 15% of their time to work on any idea they have, the 15% rule goes back to 1923 when a 3M Engineer visited a Body Shop and observed a worker struggling to tape a car; and the tape at the time did a poor job at best of protecting surfaces, this inspired the 3M Engineer to invent Scotch-Brand tape (keep in mind back then 3M was primarily an abrasives company), the Engineer was remanded for working on his "pet" project, and told to confine his work to sand paper, a decade later the tape was making $1.15M in sales. I'm sure 3M has a few detailing Enthusiasts within it's ranks.

Maybe its just me, but I prefer the results I get from a ceramic wax rather than just a ceramic spray sealant. The application of a ceramic wax may be just a tad bit more involved but I think the gloss, protection life, and hydrophobic properties turn out better.

I live in Indiana and drive my truck daily. I have put turtle wax seal and shine on my truck and Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax. Once they get hit with road salt you can count on putting another layer of wax on. The one thing that is holding up so far I put it on back in December is Gtechniq's clear vision glass coating. If you want a better use for seal and shine, try it on black trim.

The Ultimate Liquid is great for a wax. Ceramic coatings definitely last FAR longer (6+ months versus weeks) and have a different style of shine that some prefer. You should do some comparisons and see what is best for you.

I understand the preparation for the paint to make the product preform at its best.. in the spring this year 2022 . I used iron remover then clayed then a one step correction. Then waxed it. There’s no way in the world I am or have the time to do all the preparation EVERY SINGLE TIME I PUT A COAT OF WAX ON. A lot of people don’t even do what I did in the spring. Preparation like you do before every coat of wax on the same car is unrealistic.

PS... I think I'd prefer the hand applied method so that I know it's absolutely everywhere I want it to be. This looks to be very easy to apply and remove, which the only reason I reach for a spray version usually. If it would also be sun friendly and somewhat durable, it'd be a winner in my world. If it’s easy to apply I can see using it on my wheels. I use the hybrid ceramic spray on my wheels when they are wet and just wipe off. I love the smell. So far the protection seems lower on all these ceramic waxes then the weakest spray sealants. I’d stick with sprays if I wanted longevity. If I was better with polisher I’d just put a real ceramic on everything but takes me to long.

With the spray - on version you can't let it dry out before polishing off so you have to be quick to polish it off? With this version, I hear you say you can go all around the car before wiping it off. I prefer not to have to be concerned about quickly removing the layer before it dries out, so this liquid version gets the thumbs up from me. Not sure if it's available in the UK yet though.

just so i understand it correctly .....say i use seal and shine for my base i can use a polish or wax after and it will enhance the gloss. i always thought the sealant went on after to protect the wax or polish.

After I apply the ceramic wax to the whole vehicle, do i let it set or do i immediately wipe it off with a microfiber? Thanks in advance.

Wait 3 to 5 minutes before wiping off. It says so on the bottle

Honestly I dont reach for a non spray product unless it would be my base layer of protection. Toppers are spray only for me.

Would you advise the pre wax prep on a new car followed by the liquid wax?

Is it needed to polish if you have a new car? I washed, clayed and the hybrid ceramic liquid wax.

    1. Can I apply this on top of Meguiar fast finish?
    2. Advisable to apply frequently without a full polish(prep)?
    I don’t have access to a polisher.

I know you said it could be added on top of other coatings but just double checking if I were to use the Meguiers ceramic quick detailer and put this on top. Would that be fine and if so how long in between applications of each product?

I have a huge problem with hard water in my area. A system is needed here and I recommend it if you have any problem at all with mineral deposits.
