    Totally agree about the gradin system! We’re all still awaiting our results but have been told we all passed. In saying that, there were some whom I’d thought were borderline pass, and others who were better, so if we all get a standard pass, it won’t reflect the discrepancies within our group, just the standards that Cambridge upholds for everyone.

    Hi there, thanks so much for the cool video. I just returned home from teaching ESL in Thailand for a year, and I'd really like to teach long term. Is there anything I should read (a book, a blog, etc) before beginning the CELTA application process? Maybe it'd be good to brush up on grammar categories and things like PPP? Thanks again...

    I took my CELTA course in NYC in 2018 and I 100% agree with everything you said. Another point worth mentioning is how each TP is graded - to standard / above standard. If you're a perfectionist such as I am, you will be aiming for an Above Standard TP ✨

    • @miriamllamas224
      @miriamllamas224 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you've already managed to enroll in the Celta course. If not: English is my second language so after years of studying grammar, I didn't have to prepare for the interview. However, if you still think you need to brush your grammar knowledge, grab an advanced level Student's grammar book and look through it. Remember, the grammar questions in the interview are quite basic because as a teacher you'll always have grammar books at your fingertips, and it's extremely important that you plan your lessons in advance including that part of the grammar that even native speakers are not familiar with.

    • @EveHemingway
      @EveHemingway  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hahaha yes born and bread Yorkshire! I think it might differ from centre to centre as they choose their own books and pages. We used the new english file books. The elementary were pretty much beginners and intermediate were probably more pre intermediate. But again, it depends on the centre and who they choose

    • @EveHemingway
      @EveHemingway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Unfortunately for job applications, these aren't really applicable for most countries. A 120hr TEFL is good to get right now compared to a CELTA as there is a high demand for teachers. A celta is good if you want to improve yourself professionally though

      @@akhleshsharma1340 you can do an online TEFL as long as it's more than 120hrs and some teaching observation time. I'm afraid I can't recommend a company as I did the CELTA. One reason I did it is because there are a lot of scams for TEFLs online so it was kind of a safe option
