Thanks for the useful video Fergus!
Thanks Carla! That means a lot coming from you! I hope all is well in South Africa!
So CELTA is only useful if you want to teach adults?
Stictly speaking, yes. The "A" in CELTA used to stand for "Adults" (before they changed the name of the course to "Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages"). However, it does give you some preparation for teaching young learners. Additionally most schools where a lot of students are younger learners will hire you based on having CELTA - but not all will, of course.
@@FergusFadden Good to know. Thank you for the info.
Which school did you attend to complete your certification? I am looking into International House.
@@EMVelez There are many IH schools around the world, which one are you looking at?
I did my own initial certification through DSE- Dublin School of English, way back in 2007. I did DELTA through IH Dublin&London in 2010. Both excellent experiences.
Thanks Fergus for the video!!! I really appreciate! I am now taking a TEFL online course which I am getting a little taste of this new career :) And, I was looking for more information regarding CELTA classes where I just found it!!! 🙏🏼
Hi there Cintia! I am very glad you found my channel hope that you find answers to some of the questions you have about teaching English.
Can I ask, what part of the world are you messaging from and where do you hope to teach English?
@@FergusFadden I will!
