Hi Steve! Love the review! Just bought this tv for my boyfriends birthday yesterday! Is the HDR and 4K automatically enabled or is there a place where it needs to be enabled??
Hate that I can't search the web like a could with my Sony! Hisense only gives you a few Apps and that's all you get. It's not a Smart TV. Wish I never bought it!
I bought this TV in March of 2021. It has performed a lot better than I expected. I think it puts out a better picture than my 65-inch LG Smart TV which coast me over $1,200 in 2020.
I just bought this TV at Walmart for $258! June 3rd, 2024. figured what the heck for that cheap I couldn't go wrong even if it only lasts a year. WOW. What a fantastic HDR picture! And all Roku OS TVs after May 2024 have a feature called "Smart Picture Mode" which automatically selects HDR or Dolby Vision or whatever is the best mode for any particular streaming movie or just standard TV. I know a lot of Video geeks that would never use this feature and would immediately turn it off. But I can tell you, my wife really likes this feature. It is super convenient.
bro my 6 year old 55" TCL i got at walmart when they first started selling them is dying. Gonna get the repair kit for 80 bucks from Shopjimmy. In the mean time i went to walmart today and seen that they are STILL SELLING THIS TV. I was like damn, i helped my buddy get one home 4 years ago. lol. Im thinking of getting it for now until i can get a U8.
My Hisense died after 3 years. I’m gonna get this one man they’re not bad although they may die sooner than I’d like. It took care of me and all my consoles
Thanks so much for that input lag test, Steve. I was looking all over the internet to find out what it was. You were the only source I could find. Two years later and this review is still very helpful!
A good brother of mine got this tv for me in my bday 9/19 and I’m in shock then decided to watch a review in this and saw your review and comments 💯. The images are clear and the games on my Xbox is 🔥. Best gift ever
I bought one last week & I have the 55-inch version. Picture quality is outstanding, sound quality is good, ROKU runs smooth etc. The best 4K tv that I've ever owned.
Bought the 55" at costco. Had been using my four year old Hisense 40". Huge difference in screen size! So far so good. I'm sure there are better but for $280 out the door and a two year warranty, it suits my needs just fine.
Trying to pick a new TV is a hair yanking experience. So many budget TVs to pick from. But hey, I pulled the trigger and ordered this one after my Samsung packed up after 7 years. Paid. Price for 50" is unbeatable at $248. And I backed it up with a 5 year warranty.
Great review, thank you so much. I just purchased the 65” Hisense R7G5 from Costco. It will be delivered in a few days. I am really looking forward to it. I have never had a Hisense or a Roku TV. I have had a standalone Roku. Thank you for showing us these features! It looks terrific.
I'm definitely going to pick one of these up at walmart, cant beat the price. Thank god for this video you were very thorough and explained everything in good detail, your awesome. Subscribed.
I literally just bought this tv yesterday for $238. It is amazing to me. I have had the same, Sanyo 1080p tv for about 10 years. It still works but my son convinced me to upgrade. The difference between the two is like night & day. I absolutely love it.
Just found one for $338. I know others got better deals, but I tell you that $338 for a 58" is still a really good deal. All other even 55" I saw were at least no less than $450.
I doubt there is a much better deal on this set than what you got - unless you got the five finger discount that I got. Its a great set for what it is.
I appreciate the detailed review. You helped me decide to purchase . I didn’t know about the feet allowing you to utilize a smaller table . We aren’t sure about mounting just yet and this will help in the meantime .
Grabbed my 58" from Walmart for $269. They are still selling it. Problem is, the Backlighting goes out after about 2-3yrs & you'll hear a loud buzzing sound from the rear when it does. We've owned 3 of these in our family & all had the same Backlighting issues in the same time frame, 2yrs. Looking to get the U8H Quantum mini-led series
This is true! I owned the TCL Roku tv and that’s exactly what happened to me. I had got about 5 years before the screen went black. I purchased this Hisense 58 as a replacement. I hope it outlasts the TCL!
I love this tv and use it with 4k settings on a pc, that 2.0 setting was the one thing that escaped me the entire time I've owned this, the tv would auto switch between games and apps I used, and I only preferred 2.0 but had no idea how to lock it in, thanks so much! this looks phenomenal with a 3080 GeForce on the pc, I use it as a monitor, move player, and game set.
Hey Tech Steve.....Walmart has now got these on sale for 268.00 right now! Looks good. The 60" was a bit too large and the 58 turned out to be just right. Thank you for all these great reviews.
I was checking out Hisense brands. I watched another TH-cam video about this TV. The guy's video was longer than this one but seem like he was not fully prepared to resent the TV, he did ok. Now this video and your remarks and demo were very professional. I learn more in these nine minutes than in the other guy's twenty-minute. Your presentation was clear to listen to, very understandable showing a game and a screensaver really showed the picture of this TV. I will be watching more of your videos in the future. Thanks.
Honestly super solid TV ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE and probably more than good enough picture quality for like 85% of people. I just always thought the picture quality for watching sports specifically was pretty lackluster.
Just purchased today, $248. from Walmart 3/3023. Using it at work for streaming soundscape videos, forests, streams, ocean waves, etc... It does great. But I'll be needing an external sound system of some kind. Nothing to pricey though, only listening to grass growing, and leaves and stuff. LOL Thanks for the video.
I want to get a different sound bar. Did I understand that I can only use the ones selected under the speakers mode for the blue tooth, or did I misunderstand?
I think this is still a screaming value in 2023, but two points... 1) The model I purchased this week at Walmart no longer has two attachment points for the stand, so I had to purchase a 4 foot by 12 inch black laminate shelf board to put on top of my small table, and 2) When I change sources on my Apple TV+, the "No source" message comes up for about 4 seconds before locking in on the picture, which feels like a long time. Also, to get it out of the box, lay the box face down and drag the set out by the edges (don't squeeze the screen) and you can prop up the back corners enough to attach the feet on at a time. Then it's easy enough to set the TV upright by just lifting the front edge. The stands are very sturdy!
It’s a good buy I know I’m 3 years late to tell you this but I play my ps5 on it and it looks amazing before this tv I was using my gforce intigrated monitor that’s attached to my ps5 and can say this tv is amazing video quality audio and gaming it is nice n for the price it’s pretty much unmatched
I enjoy your TV reviews Steve, they are very well edited and concise. I have a 5 year old Sony 55” and it won’t turn on. I was having some work done on the house and when I came back, the TV wouldn’t turn on. The power supply AC/DC works, it must be a something with the board in the back. I think a rebuilt board could run $300+; there is a shop in my area that will fix these, but his diagnostic fee is $80. I already have a Hisense 55” TV and a 43” TCL, both are fine. The Hisense TV is in a bright room and sometimes I need to close the blinds to keep the reflection off the screen. I am a huge fan of the Roku system compared to the Android system on the Sony. Roku is just much easier to use and we have Roku devices on other non smart TV’s. This 58” Roku is now $268 at Walmart. I think I’m going to pick one up and ditch the Sony.
Hello my friend, im from LATAM. Do you recommend this tv at this point of 2022? I really want to buy this model. I have a Xbox Series S and I think its a great choise to play in it. Cheers.
I bought one of these $278 walmart for my mom and step dad and they loved it, I told them it was temporary because planned to exchange it on black Friday for a TCL but meantime they enjoy but now they don't want another they want to keep it. I personally saw some blurry lag but if they like I have to respect. Happy they liked it and for $278 I'm jealous mine $400 65" cost way more but I also am happy with my TCL. Get it Hisense 58" while it's available Awesome deal.
Glad you put the price tags on there, bcs its 2023 blackfriday and Walmart has a "deal", but they marked the TV up to $298 and giving a $30 "discount"...
I want to buy a new TV for our living room. I was looking at this one and this video answered some of my questions. I needed to know that it has composite inputs for a DVD player (and on occasion my old Nintendo Wii), and a coaxial input. If I can get this TV for the living room, our 13-year-old 52" LG plasma will go in my bedroom.

thank you, you answered my question right away! I have a bureau to put this tv on top of but the width of the bureau is only 49" and I wanted to know if this tv has adjustable legs. I have a 43" Hisense there now but, unfortunately, as I age it's harder to see some of the subtitles etc from my bed. Do you think there is a larger screen Hisense Roku tv that will fit on that bureau? Thank you
This TV looks great from head on, but when you’re barely off to the side it has the worst viewing angle I’ve ever seen. Any idea what the difference is between this which is the R6E.. and the R6G which is sold everywhere else. I noticed this is only at Walmart. Thanks Steve
How is the black coming out, is it good for dark or low light videos like the got and similar stuff. Have a 42 lg hd and its not that good to watch those vidoe which are dark or nighy
You give the BEST walk through/reviews I've seen! My 50" Vizio crashed and burned last night. So I started searching for a replacement, I haven't noticed a review of any Vizio sets am I just missing them?
I was wondering how can I get help with getting Disney+, Hulu, and other popular ops because my TV is not giving me the option I have a 65 inch high sense Roku TV that I just purchased from Walmart
I’m stuck between those too! But What I found out about the Vizio is that you can’t change the aspect ratio (can’t get rid of black borders on certain movies/shows)
@@stevenviro322 The only great thing about Vizio is for cheap you get HDR 10, and Dolby Vision. And VRR on slightly higher models. But their reliability isn't good these days.

I just got this tv tonight from Walmart compared to 55 inch Google TV & Phillips 50 inch as well that was on sale for $268.
It’s $335@walmart now for the 58 inch. Thank you
thank you, you answered my question right away! Thank you
Android VS Rokou VS Vidaa, which the best??? Please answer
Soon
@@TechSteve Great, looking forward to it
I was wondering how can I get help with getting Disney+, Hulu, and other popular ops because my TV is not giving me the option I have a 65 inch high sense Roku TV that I just purchased from Walmart
Great review, bought the 50" for my parents bedroom for Xmas. What fish tank screen saver are you using in the beginning of the video?
It under the themes under screen saver
So, between this and Vizio, which would you recommend?
I’m stuck between those too! But What I found out about the Vizio is that you can’t change the aspect ratio (can’t get rid of black borders on certain movies/shows)
@@stevenviro322 The only great thing about Vizio is for cheap you get HDR 10, and Dolby Vision. And VRR on slightly higher models. But their reliability isn't good these days.
@@drummer7557 this tv comes with dolby, hdr,hdr10 as wellZ
Is it possible to get dolby atmos soundbar with this TV?
Does the roku come with wifi ?
Do you think it’s worth it? 😮
Maybe I sound stupid, but do you think.
Can I put a DVR on this tv..
Are we not able to link our Alexa to it? And google home?
After watching your video I will definitely get this one, pretty good review, thanks.
You’re welcome Alan
