    10:19 That USB port/connection allows you to use a large external hard drive (must be externally powered) filled with ripped movies/videos, personal photos, etc, kinda like a mini storage server but only for that tv. You then use the free Roku Media Player app that is built into the tv, to play those files off your hard drive. That USB port can also act as a live TV PVR, so you can pause/rewind/fast forward live tv (up to 90 minutes). To do this, all you need is an empty 16gb thumb drive plugged into that port, then use the tv's menu to format/set it up for live tv mode, and enjoy your own PVR. (btw, this stuff is mentioned in the manual that no one seems to read).

      13:06 Use this to hook up the SNES. --> tinyurl.com/y34y2lvz You'll get better video quality than the antenna connection. Then you can use the antenna port (with a cheap indoor antenna from Amazon, or a bigger rooftop UHF/VHF antenna), to receive free SD/HD OTA broadcast channels in your area (and those local broadcast channels will be clearer/sharper than the digital versions from your cable provider, because they are not compressed). Btw, did I mention those OTA channels are free?

    In fact, the USB port is very handy. You can use a thumb drive with not just movies but, mp3s and your entire jukebox. You can access them with the Roku media player and it's like having a completely interactive jukebox experience. It works exceptionally well with a soundbar.

    I am wondering if you can give me the Roku TV model number listed in the system information. I have this exact TV, and I believe a software update crashed my system, and I would like to attempt a manual update through USB, however when trying to find the correct firmware file on the Roku website, it asks for the Roku TV model number, which I can only get by checking the system information, which is impossible as my TV will will not fully boot. Thanks!

    How do u change ur cable box from 1080p to 4k

    • @URTechDotCa
      @URTechDotCa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cable box has to support 4K and you need a subscription to 4K content. In my case I am using Shaw's box which is a licensed version of Comcast XFinity. The setting on that system is located in the usual settings menu and it automatically detected the 4K when went into that setting. I hope that helps.

    What’s are the nits for this tv?

    • @URTechDotCa
      @URTechDotCa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeremiah; I found "The HDR Day and Night modes both sacrifice baseline brightness to deliver a wider light range. This means they're more accurate in their HDR presentation. Small, bright highlights of HDR images enjoy as much intensity as a screen only capable of 316 nits can deliver - flagships can hit 1,000 or 2,000 nits by comparison, so are much brighter - and the HDR Day and Night modes deliver more consistently balanced and refined colours." but I can tell you after a year of use that we have been very happy with the brightness, viewing angles, and color.

    This TV loves having its backlight controlled through Dolby Vision. If you have Fire Stick 4k, you can set it to always output DV. You will no longer be able to control the backlight, but DV takes care of that dynamically.

    The TV is excellent with Dolby Vision (for natural color) and a decent picture, but honestly 4K looks like A$$ if I may speak freely. I liked mine then saw some 4K content, it was dark, blurry and didn't look hardly any different than 1080p. Sadly.

    • @URTechDotCa
      @URTechDotCa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was so little 4K when I bought it I did not care. Today I see a little bit more (Netflix & TH-cam) but still don't see a giant difference. My experience has been that I really need to see the two side by side to appreciate the improvement.
