- Alright i'm sure one or two of you may have gotten on of these for Christmas! You open the box, it's not a giant chocolate at all - just lots of little ones. Luckily the box itself makes a perfect mould for making an actual giant cream.... i'm filling mine with a homemade strawberry mousse!

It must be frustrating to put in all that effort and have it turn out like that. I'm sure it tasted nice but he didn't get that perfect thumbnail moment. Maybe he was in denial to cope haha

Maybe should have set it in fridge over night before pouring on the final chocolate base. Putting on base first means longer for inside to set.

To be honest, the mousse version sounds so much better, I find the originals too sweet and sickly to enjoy (same for the orange one)... :P

He already did a massive Lindt Lindor, he would literally just add peppermint extract to the middle to make it mint, Other than that, there is no real difference between them :D

It's the same only you add a tiny and I mean TINY bit of mint extract unless you want a listerine mint taste Times 1000
I bought my teacher's a quality street can for Christmas and they shared with the class. Teenagers think they are disgusting. I personally like them.
I agree that they are disgusting. They just taste really cheap.

I love how Barry describes how he wants to make it so it doesn't make him sick to eat it. Love the results and that it burst open when he cut it.
To make it quicker, there's a hack for that called angel delight... And a suggestion to set the mousse first then final layer of chocolate, since the chocolate will insulate the inside due to going solid
My Dad got one of these from M&S and now of then, it just goes off for no apparent reason. Scares the cat!

Giant bag of revels with all the different flavours. Much more tricky than just a giant malteser plus keeps Mrs b happy.
I bought mum this for Christmas this year. she loves the strawberry delights that much, she hides them all before anyone gets to look at them 😂

I've been looking for chocolates and such to use on my Christmas tree, and I have to say that the "giant" candy videos have been a big help in finding ones that I can hang on the tree. A lot of the chocolate here in the United States tends to have foil wrap, so no way to get them to hang, easily. You doing a giant Lindor chocolate and the Quality Street ones have given me hope that I can actually do this, this year. Thanks!

Bet if you'd put gelatin or agar agar it would hold up quite nicely and still be smoooooth. Plus make the bottom in the actual bottom part of the plastic and chocolate glue it at the seams

I saw how they made the Quality Street chocolates on BBC Christmas Eve. Pretty interesting the different types of chocolate they use to make each individual sweet.

Barry make your own vanilla extract! Split some pods in half and add to rum or vodka. So much better than store bought. You can also use lemon zest for a lemon extract
somehow this never showed up when it was supposed to so I'm only now seeing it. This was great but man do I wish we could have seen the mousse solidified! I feel like it would have been so cool.

Barry great lifehack / cooking tip for not throwing away your used vanilla pods: you can make your own vanilla essence in vodka! Look it up on the interweb, amazing homemade stuff and a life stock of sweet precious vanilla! Happy holidays ✨

not sure if soaking the plastic bag in fairly hot water like that leaches chemicals into the chocolate
I've seen the king of random put bags of chocolate chips in the microwave before, so I highly doubt it as the manufacturer probably intended the bags to be used to do stuff like it, so health and safety has been checked off for it
I was far more concerned about the pressure increase rupturing the packet and ruining the chocolate.
I came at the right time it's totally the best time to feed my hunger.

It’s fondant
Buy a block of fondant and knead it until very soft add strawberry extract with no colour and there’s your centre.
I think you've truly improved on it! (even though I haven't had the original, nor have I had your version XD)
Happy holidays to you too! I love QS and your idea for making a huge one. I think, though, it's not quite correct to call what you made mousse. Mousse generally has gelatin in it and while marshmallows *should* have gelatin, not all of them do and the gelatin comes already bound to a load of confectioner's sugar and sometimes preservatives if they're store-bought. I wouldn't have said anything except that gelatin is what makes a mousse a lovely set mousse. Without it, you've just got ooze.
I really wish I had seen this before Christmas... I was meant to take a dessert to a family event today... this would have been great!
