@@FourtyOunce Just because a song is co-written, doesn’t make it not true. Many autobiographies are co-written…but true about the authenticity of the author.😐
When this song first came out, my husband was obsessed with it! Had to get the CD immediately! Right after that, we took a trip and he played this song over and over. He sang along with it every time! ( he has a beautiful voice). 12 years later I had this song played at my husband’s memorial service. Going to be 8 years soon, and I still cry every time I hear it.
Well i can say truthfully. That ronnie dunn is that boy in the song. There is a reason why brooks an dunn won country duo of the year award. 13 times in a row. Ronnie Dunn has the best voice in country music Edit. This experience is one of the reasons why ronnie dunn bexame a pastor before he wasa singer
You Sir, may have just paid Ronnie Dunn the greatest compliment..." This song wasn't written...it was lived and experienced." It is said that they did not perform this live because it was too close to home for Ronnie.
Two things to remember about this song. One it is autobiographical. It was an experience Ronnie Dunn had growing up. Two, Ronnie Dunn is a believer. Raise my hands bow my head (ancient prayer posture), I am finding more and more truth in the words written in red, in many bibles the words of Jesus are printed in red print. It is easy to get lost in the tragedy of the song, Mr Wrigley losing his family and the young boy losing Mr. Wrigley. However, if you are a believer than you understand that it is through death we gain eternal life. Thus Mr Wrigley is re untied with his family that has gone before him and even the young man discovers that he too will once again "see" and enjoy the friendship of Mr Wrigley one day. "you know I am more and more convinced the longer that I live that this can't be no this can't be no this can't be all that there is...So I raise my hands bow my head..."
There is no one that can put more emotion in a song like this than Ronnie Dunn! No matter how many times I hear it I still get a bit choked up! Such a performance.
You are so right, this song was lived. The guy singing is Ronnie Dunn and he lived this. It’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard. It gets me every time. I end up in tears! Brooks and Dunn are one of the best groups out there! Thank you for your honest reaction. I could see all the emotions that you were going through.
Young man this song brings me to tears every single time 😭 I could see your emotions showing when you flushed red.. Same here! Lordy it's a powerful song and his voice takes me back to church ⛪
I did cry!! Wow, heart wrenching! Ronnie Dunn, the tall red-headed drink of water, is such an incredible singer! Thank you for this one. New subscriber here from Canada and I really enjoy your reactions.
These guys are fantastic…. And so charismatic live. So much intensity wrapped in that rare energy that just feeds the crowd that certain performers seem to wield.
So glad you got to this one! I figured it would hit you in the feels when you heard it, I don't know many it doesn't. It's sad, but I also see it as a message of hope that I can be reunited with my loved ones after death. Believe ... it's the only way for me to make it through the losses. Thanks for this one, still one of my favorites after all these years. It's timeless. (Despite the wall phone with the long cord. 😉)
We each live in our own reality. But well-crafted lyrics, music that carries the rythym of our heartbeats, and voices that penetrate deep into our consciousness all combine to take the lot of us, in just a few minutes, from our realities into a common shared one. It's why we love music.
Brooks & Dunn are brilliant both as artists and as writers I believe is probably the most powerful song for me that they ever put out the next favorite song is cowgirls Don't cry Brooks and Dunn featuring Reba McEntire.
I to lived this great wonderful experience, growing up. I was a teenager, and befriended a African american gentlemen. He was much older then myself, but we become the greatest of friends, 26 years of a great friendship. My father left us, when we were young, and harry my beloved friend, was a father figure to me. Seen me graduate, graduate from college and get married. Harry pasted on to be with his beloved wife in heaven. Wow, this song, just brings great memories, and so much joy to my heart. Love you Harry, RIP - you are always in my heart.
You reacted like we did when it came out...my son came over and played the video for me..oh was emotional. Country music people are very close. Another one is Vince Gill and Patty Lovelace singing at George Jones funeral. Three country greats!
You impress me EVERY time I watch your do a reaction to a video. You actually do FEEL the music. It doesn't matter if you are from England or from Louisiana. I feel your emotions and you do inspire...KEEP IT UP!!!
I think I’ve said this to you before but out of all the reaction channels here and I’m sure you know there are literally thousands upon thousands of them your channel is my absolute favourite. I love how you are not afraid to show your emotions and in this day and age to see emotions coming from a man makes men more brave than anything in my opinion. Once again beautiful reaction❤️
I love all of Brooks and Dunn's catalog. I've seen them in concert and they do not disappoint. A few others are Montgomery Gentry "Some People Change" and Big and Rich "November 8th". Those tunes have the ability to change a person's perspective.
You should check out their video featuring the Queen of Country Reba McEntire, Cowgirls Don't Cry or the duet with Reba If You See Him, If You see Her! Both are classics!

I don't comment much or request, but I watch your reactions. October is breast cancer awareness month. Ten years ago I was given the diagnosis that stopped me in my tracks, "Your test results came back. I'm sorry, but it's cancer!" I heard nothing else he said to me. I'm trying to keep this comment from becoming a novel. I fought hard for 6 years and wanted to give up several times. There are many who just this week were given that same diagnosis - you are not alone, my sister! There are far too many who have lost the battle without ever giving up the fight - you were and are the epitome and heart of a true warrior! There are many who are wearing wigs and baggy sweatshirts - You are beautiful, my sister! Keep fighting! Can you please react to Martina McBride's "I'm Gonna Love You Through It"? th-cam.com/video/ZYNOXRifXKQ/w-d-xo.html Because of the love of my family and friends I have been cancer free for 4 years now!
