I really enjoyed your reaction I have watched many people react to this song and a few of them said they didn't notice the organ, but you jumped o in the organ the second you he she second you heard the organ I just wanted to tell you that this song is based the life of the singer Ronnie Dunn. You can read all about on the TV internet.😂😂😂
It is still sad but the lyrics “I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh” hit me hard. We’re sad the person is gone but we also know he’s with his family now 🥹
I don’t think that is true. Can you point me to the interview where he said this? He wrote this song with Craig Wiseman and I have never been able to find anything that said this was based in his personal experience 🤷🏼♀️
@@SickGirlRocks I don't know if it's a true story or not but I would like to believe that it is. Thanks for pointing out that there isn't any proof one way or the other.
Amen! Only a Christian can view this song as a happy ending! A true story written by Ronnie Dunn about a memory from his childhood. Loved your reaction!
I have seen over 25 reactions to this and most see it as sad; I see it as victory and worthy of Praise. He will see that old man in Heaveg as well as his family. God is Good. Praise God in his Mercy and His wisdom.
Although this is a sweet song with a great message ; l really appreciate you young man and what you exude. It’s rare to see people on TH-cam who will lift up the name of Jesus and truth , much less play a song that does. Thank You.
This is a true story, Ronnie Dunn (the singer) is telling a true story of his dear friend Mr Wrigley….beautiful song!!! Devin, I have an unspoken prayer need if u don’t mind throwing one up for me….I’d certainly appreciate it!! 🙏 ❤️
I'm a grown 43 yr old man. I cry every time I hear this song. It has helped me with faith. Brooks and Dunn have a bunch of good songs to push excellence
US Marine Srgt here. Along with my wife who passed away on 10/13/2020 to cancer at age 38. She was also a Marine srgt. We were deployed to Afghanistan together. At that time she was just my best friends. She introduced me to your channel. Even bought your merchandise and talked to you on Twitter a few times. I remember her wearing those Gibby Gang socks around the house all the time lol. I appreciate your loyalty to the military brother. We love ya big in this family. Semper Fi To any Veterans in the chat from one Veteran to another thank you for your service!!!
This is the best faith based song I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Do thank you Brooks and Dunn for the words and the song. And your Beautiful performance of the song.
I've never subscribed to someone so quickly. I've been questioning my relationship with God so much lately, and I don't know what it is, but you just made me feel rejuvenated in my faith. Thank you and God bless
I really didn't want to make this public. But with this reaction... I hesitate to ask for prayer but Devon and anyone always like would like to pray for my strength to believe again but more importantly my family and a brother that is dealing with drugs. I know I have former pastors I could reach out to but this just seems right. Love and appreciation to you all. I do believe it's just hard right now. ❤️
It's not sad. It is amazing. The promise that we are given for those that believe. There is not a time that tears are not streaming down my face by the end of this song. Talk about taking you to church. This one does it for sure. Your reaction is awesome. I love that you are so faithful, Devin. I find inspiration through you. Please stay true to yourself and keep on bringing us your wisdom.
Even though I'm a metalhead I grew up with stuff like this - Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, etc. The new stuff these days just doesn't compare.
I grew up with Brooks and Dunn every weekend in the truck going fishing with my Grandpa. By random circumstance I saw them in concert a few weeks ago and they killed it. Last Summer I became a believer again, and this song is incredibly powerful.
Simple one for you Devin, 8 years in the service Army, Gulf War vet 1990-1991 (served 1990-1998). Got me some stage 4 melanoma on my back. I am currently 49 and finding it hard to breath daily. Would like a shout up to God or two from some. If not, no worries, I have lived an ok life, could of been better, but we do what we can.
D-Gibby, thank you so much for reacting to this song! This song is so good for the soul. (IMHO) God didn't forget us, a lot of us forgot him. I needed to hear this today.
It's such a touching and moving song. It's beautifully sung. Ronnie put his heart and soul into this song. You can see in in his face. You can hear it in the words sang. It's an amazing song
I an so happy to hear someone who is not ashamed to talk about the Lord. Thank you. Wd need more people who would stand up for Jesus. You have my respect. Beautiful song.
I live in Nashville. My oldest son met them both in East Nashville He had no idea who they were at first. He hung out with a while. Said that's what makes Nashville special.
I love this song so much. I don’t care where I am or who’s there, when the chorus starts my hands go up and my head down automatically. This one makes me feel so good. I cannot see this video being anything other than so happy. Thank you ❤️🙏😇
Devin, I knew you'd love it. I love it too and I'll admit I tear up every time at the end when he pulls old man Wrigley's wife and son's photos out of his bible at the end.
This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. It’s such a beautiful expression of faith, and the words and music tell a story so well. Thank you for your reaction.
What I love most about this song is that even if you're not a believer, you can still see the absolute beauty in what should be a broken man finding a way to not only accept his eventual fate, but to embrace and find peace and happiness throughout his pain, loss, and death.
Before even listening to the reaction itself, I had to make note that I've never seen this song as sad and I've heard it 1,000+ times. There is sadness in the song but its message is the opposite of sad.
I haven’t heard this song in several years and your reaction popped up in my recommended feed. Didn’t know how much I needed to see this, but God put it here to remind me of a lot of things. Much love, brother.
I lost my dad a couple of days ago. The first time I found myself alone, I played this song and cried till I had no tears left. This song always gives me strength in times of grief because it reminds me that I have a reason to keep fighting against the pain and doubts
Wow, when I listened to the things you were saying before starting the video, all I could think is, oh, you're gonna LOVE this! I'm writing this before you even began. I know I am in for a very special ride my brother.
I’m forever greatful that I grew up in a really small home town and got to hang out with and help my older neighbors , lately I find myself feeling bad for kids these days who are glued to electronics , the wholesome bond and memories you make with those around you are worth way more and can teach you more then any phone or tablet , this song gets me every time
I agree. As a fellow believer, I understand what you're saying. The promise of Heaven is the best promise anybody could receive. The old man knew that, and he imparted that wisdom to a young Ronnie Dunn. (It is a true story.)
I love the ending of the video because in the Bible was the same photo the older man showed him at the beginning. It was like he was letting him know "Don't worry about me, I'm with my wife and baby. I'm home."

Finally. Somebody that understood “the words written in red” the first time they heard it!! 😁
It’s not sad, if you are a believer
Exactly what I was thinking!!!
Amen?
It is still sad but the lyrics “I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh” hit me hard.
We’re sad the person is gone but we also know he’s with his family now 🥹
Still sad to lose the ONE we love! Even Christ grieved!
When you believe, this is not sad. This is a blessing. In Jesus Christ name, amen.
To be absent from the body is to be with the Lord.
Exactly Right!!
I agree it’s not sad, this man was there for him and more importantly taught him about faith
Amen
Amen!🙌🙏
Amen
This song is a true story - it's based on Ronnie Dunn's experience growing up.

I never knew that. Thank you

That was an amazing reaction sir. You are a real one. This is a very powerful song by one of the greatest groups of all time. 🙏
You, Sir, preached more in two minutes than any seminary-trained pastor could in an hour. Thank you for saying very simply what needs to be said.
I've never subscribed to someone so quickly. I've been questioning my relationship with God so much lately, and I don't know what it is, but you just made me feel rejuvenated in my faith. Thank you and God bless

Ronnie Dunn was a youth pastor at one time. Such a beautiful voice God has blessed him with. Home going day, PTL
This is a true story from Ronnie Dunns life. He said that man taught about God and how to be a good man ❤❤❤
What I love most about this song is that even if you're not a believer, you can still see the absolute beauty in what should be a broken man finding a way to not only accept his eventual fate, but to embrace and find peace and happiness throughout his pain, loss, and death.

I'm home."
