    i've opened cimb and maybank sg in the same week, got my cimb account running but the user interface is.. horrible, unlike the malaysia cimb clicks. hoping to get the maybank account approved soon. thanks ziet!

      By the way, just curious, why do you need Maybank SG when you already had CIMB SG? Are you using it for other purpose like PayNow?

      @@ZietInvests since both are free to open, i decided to open both to compare the ease of use and then decide which one i want to maintain. i'm biased towards maybank as most of my banking is done there

      Hi Gary, more or less except the way how the interest/profit is calculated, but I’ve also read that sometimes i-account may have restriction on certain non-islamic expenditures, not sure how true is that

    Thanks for the informative guide as usual. Singapore CIMB account is synchronised to Singapore MY from what i have heard,meaning you are able to access your Cimb SG account from the same online portal. Is Maybank SG the same too? Or is it a two separate independant account?

      Hi Brandon, yes that is correct for CIMB SG, you can see it from your CIMB MY portal, but to use it, you still have to login CIMB Clicks SG portal yeah.
      As for Maybank SG, unfortunately i dont have the answer for you since I have not opened one myself :x

      From the application form its written "Maybank Platinum Debit Card Card", so it should be a Visa card

    Here in the Philippines CIMB offers 4% PA interest. But CIMB (PH) are pure digital no branches and atm.

      Ahhh the interest actually doesn't matter because it depends on the country's monetary policy, Philippines inflation is much higher hence the interest rate is higher. For Singapore, their interest rate is even lower (close to zero) because of their currency and economical stability. Also noted that you guys already have digital banks - we are still building towards digital banks haha!

    Hi Ziet, thanks for the video. Just created a CiMB account in Malaysia, was given a debit card and was told I can withdraw money at atms in Singapore using this card, wonder if that’s true ? 🤔

      Hi Ann, I think that could be possible, but you have to be aware of the foreign exchange rates applied, could be on the higher end

    Hello Ziet may i know how long does it takes to link cimb sg to our cimb clicks malaysia ? ( its stated 3 working days) but for myself, its longer than that and still not yet been processed until now ( more than 1 week) )
    Is this a normal case ?

      Hi YenYang, linking should be done in 3 days usually, try calling them or sending them a digital feedback form and they will reach out to you within 2 days normally

      Hi James, that is correct, I believe you have to visit a physical branch in Malaysia to open the account (and submit documents). Do call them up first to clear up the procedures before visiting one!

      Hi Neo, you must have forgotten to setup 2 things :-
      (1) CIMB Clicks SG mobile app for Digital Token, and
      (2) CIMB Clicks SG account on their website where you can perform your transfer in and out of your CIMB SG bank account.
      It is a separate login credential on their SG website where you can use it from Malaysia as well

      I believe ATM withdrawal is free, the charges may apply for over the counter transactions which I'm not quite sure what kind of transactions that could be (cash deposit/cheque maybe?)
      Retiree - should be possible, they don't ask for any tax identification or employment/salary slips

      Should be the rates determined by the SG counterpart (but i could be wrong)
      Usually the rates from SG to MY is much better compared to from MY to SG (this is with CIMB)

      From their application form they stated that there's debit card, though I have not applied for one myself yet. By right you should be able to deposit cash with or without debit card but transaction charges may apply (apologies because I have no first hand experience on this yet).

      For CIMB SG - no need, they removed that requirement awhile ago.
      For Maybank SG - I'm not very sure but the form does not specify that requirement, most likely no need but I could be wrong.

      Hi April, any cross border transfers will incur foreign exchange (hidden costs) even when they said its "free of charge"
