I agree I just transferred SGD100 from CIMB SG to CIMB MYR 2 seconds ago and its cheaper than transferwise. Bank only charge me RM1 compared to Google flat rate for my transfer.
The transfer rate from CIMB SG to CIMB MY is much better during workings day and hours roughly between (9:00AM to 6:00PM MYT/SGT). In my experience the CIMB transfer rate always beats TransferWise transfer rate for (SGD -> MYR) during the mentioned time. Nice Video and thanks for sharing this.
yes u are absolutely correct , Working Day & Working Hour ( Mon - Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm ) , CIMB (SGD to MYR ) sure beat wise , coz CIMB no need service charges and their rates follow Xe Mid Rate , wise also follow XE rates but they need 0.52 % - 0.55% service charges , this is the Main Difference .
if CIMB transfer rate beats Wise's rate during those hours, it can be said that we can get more value for money transfer from SG to MY using CIMB internal transfer right?
Agree, definitely not the best option but for online transactions, there is literally no alternative unless one is willing to travel to SG to open a DBS bank account, or go through Maybank’s tedious physical application process
Thank you Ee Hun! I have not used InstaRem before as I've seen reviews from users on lowyat and have noticed quite a bit of hassle using it, but from what I've read so far, their rates are more or less comparable, hence why I didn't bother to look into Instarem since Wise has all the additional features like multi currency account, wise card etc.
Hi ziet, may I know if you have still been using wise to transfer to your CIMB SG these days? I just completed the registration to create a SG acc with CIMB, its mentioned that "We do not accept funds from remittance agencies such as Wise, Western Union etc.". Was wondering if thats referring to the first initial deposit only? Was it the same for you back then? Or is this a new rule where moving forward any other transfers from wise to cimb acc is not possible? Thank you for your guidance!
Hey ST, here's the updated vid for the Wise-CIMB SG transfer: th-cam.com/video/mXjaob63K2w/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ZietInvests There wasn't any issue when I deposited it myself.

True.. Air Asia likely gg if the pandemic continues on. Sad for them to end up like this 😔
