🔥🔥You can use my Wise referral link to get 1 FREE international transfer (up to RM 2,500):
    ziet.link/2-register-wise
    ❗️❗️❗️PLEASE READ:
    1. Passport is no longer required for registration😊
    2. CIMB Singapore just updated their Terms & Conditions that states the 1,000 SGD needs to be transferred from Malaysia via your CIMB Malaysia Bank account. (As of August 2022, Wise is still use-able and people can still successfully deposit their money into CIMB SG, in case you are hesitating.) Just don’t forget to perform the 1 SGD e-KYC transfer from CIMB Clicks Malaysia (using DuitNow/Transfer) and you will be fine!
    3. If you plan to open a CIMB Malaysia account, please don't forget to bring your salary slip/employment letter + 6 months bank statement from the bank that you receive your salary/wage (this is not mentioned on CIMB MY website but apparently the local staffs require this document)
    4. August 2022 - CIMB SG has updated the final verification part. Instead of calling you, they will e-mail you enquiring for 2 details - (1) The purpose of opening a CIMB Singapore Account (you can say for savings, oversea investment purpose, and for travelling in singapore), and (2) An address proof document in the form of utilities, telco bill, credit card or a bank statement dated within the recent 3 months.
    📌Summary of the steps:
    > apply for account
    > casa pdf form (should have SMS password to unlock immediately)
    > fund 1000 sgd via wise or cimb clicks malaysia (if cimb clicks malaysia, please link first, then use "DuitNow/Transfer" to your FastSavers (SA), not "Foreign Transfer")
    > apply for linkage from cimb clicks malaysia
    > linkage done, send 1 sgd from cimb clicks malaysia if you use wise
    > wait cimb sg call you for verification
    > wait
    > receive final activation email, same time you will get sms on the activation code (sometimes 1 or 2 hours later)
    > use the code to register for cimb clicks singapore (website): www.cimbclicks.com.sg/clicks/
    > then download cimb clicks singapore mobile app (setup digital token)
    >(Optional) after everything is done, you can also link CIMB SG to CIMB MY inside your CIMB Clicks SG > Services > Link my CIMB > Malaysia A/C (for you to be able to transfer SGD to MYR inside CIMB)
Feel free to DM me on Instagram if you need any help along the process😊

Ziet, I have successfully opened the CIMB Singapore Account recently. This is really a hidden gem for those who are yearning to open as we do not have Singapore work permit, address, etc. Even many CIMB Malaysia officers would tell its not possible. Hope CIMB keeps this option open. Cheers! Thanks a lot Ziet. Keep up your good work.

Hi, no worries! still can use Wise, just dont forget to send at least 1 SGD for e-KYC via DuitNow from CIMB Clicks Malaysia to your new CIMB SG account
The reason why they stated that is because too many people forgotten to send that and caused trouble to the CIMB SG branch (Someone else called CIMB SG and got this response) 😊

Hi Ziet, I followed the video and performed up until step 3. However in the initial email sent by CIMB SG, it mentioned they will not accept initial deposits via WISE or other remittance agencies. But you mention WISE still can be used.
I just want to make sure, linking CIMB MY and SG acc is a separate process from the WISE funding process yes? Which is the correct sequence of actions, can you please clarify?
At this moment I already tried to link MY and SG CIMB account (pending approval), but have yet to fund the 1000 SGD via WISE

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi shin, even thou they mention wise is not accepted, you still can use it.
Linking can be done first without funding, so you should link now first.
If you intend to send 1000 sgd via Wise, then by all means do so. But dont forget to send at least 1 sgd from CIMB MY via DuitNow to your CIMB SG.
If not, you can DuitNow 1000 sgd from CIMB MY to CIMB SG after your linkage is completed. Bare in mind this method incurs more forex losses.
      Hope this helps!

That said, yes, after linkage just e-KYC then should be just a matter of time before your account is activated, then you need to apply for CIMB Clicks SG and setup digital token on their CIMB Clicks SG mobile app. Refer pinned comment for the summary. Cheers!

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Suen, glad you liked the video. The EKYC purpose is to prove that you are a current customer of CIMB MY and for their verification purpose. Which is why they requested us (CIMB SG applicants) to perform a transfer from CIMB MY - but did not state the amount, so from people's account, SGD 1 is enough for that purpose.
KYC is a standard procedure for every bank to verify their customer, eKYC is happen to be more convenient else you will need to travel to CIMB SG physical branch to do it.

    • @ZietInvests

Hi Luqman, I believe there is no distinction between direct/nominee account in international brokerage.
If anything, IBKR allows you to hold the actual stock, whereas CFD broker like eToro does not give you the actual stock (for some stocks).
When you open a brokerage account with a singaporean bank, it is the same as IBKR, they reroute their brokerage activity through their own brokerage system, no difference than that of IBKR

Hello! Great video. However, I just ran into an issue regarding the funding of CIMB SG account. The prerequisites for activation is now listed as-
Activate your account by transferring a minimum initial deposit of S$1,000 via FAST:
    - From your single personal account with another bank in Singapore* (remittance houses such as Wise, Western Union, etc. are not accepted) or
    - From your own CIMB Malaysia Account.
I was originally planning to fund via Wise, but I don't suppose that is valid anymore. Neither do I have a CIMB Malaysia account. So I guess my only way is to open a CIMB MY account to manual TT SGD1k to CIMB SG account in order for it to activate. Anyone else ran into this issue?

ziet, for number 3,3) Fund your CIMB SG Account with 1,000 SGD
    - Using Wise, transfer 1,000 SGD equivalent from your local bank account (RM) to your CIMB Singapore account (SGD). This should cost around RM 25.
Does it mean that every time I transfer from any banks, I will be charge RM25? Actually for the whole process of transferring fund from Malaysia bank to IBKR, how much will I get charge in total including all the fees?

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi JT, depends on which method you use, but largely it is correct.
With Wise, its about RM 25 per transfer (for RM 4,000 per transfer, but will increase proportionally) but at a good FX rate.
With CIMB DuitNow, its free per transfer but at a slightly worse FX rate.
Net net the difference between two of them are largely negligible.
That is why it is always advisable to transfer more RM per transfer to minimise the % fee.

    • @ZietInvests

“Blind” wouldn’t be a word that I’d use, you are sending money to an account number assigned to you, with proof from the email sent by CIMB SG. Unfortunately there’s no way to check the fund before you done your linkage (you can then see the fund in CIMB Clicks MY). If your CIMB SG application were to be rejected, they will refund your 1,000 SGD back to you. It’s their standard procedure as depicted in the email (not one invented by me).
Personally I’ve been through this, and a dozen more people that I know went the same route and had no issue at all.

    1) For the next step, do I transfer SGD1000 to the CIMB Singapore account (even its yet to be opened)?
    2) Transfer via Transfer Wise, any time frame that I need to do the SGD1000 transfer?

      1) You can do that before or after linking, up to you. If you do it before linking, you wouldn't be able to see the amount. You can only see the amount after linking the accounts.
      2) I believe it's 30 days from receiving your CASA Form, you have to fund at least 1000 SGD from any source.
      3) Linking can be done anytime now. 1 SGD transfer can only be done after linking. 1000 SGD can be done anytime, as long as within the 30 days.
