Great to see Paul involved again despite his recent health issues. He's always been one of my favourites with his dry sense of humour. Looking forward to seeing the full episode in the Spring.
I thought the same thing, great dude and always adds a sense of his own style of fun. Great at talking with kids too, like so many on Time Team, dedicated to teaching and sharing with all.

Totally... and there should be another mascot for the painter and everybody else who are no longer alive. Student´s should also be invited on Time Team digs... those who will be the professionals 20-40 years from today.

I discovered time team on Danish TV in 1997/8, and since then I have watched the whole series 4 times, and it helped me through an illness in 2013 to 2016, so I am very grateful to the whole team behind and in front of the series, and i love the new timeteam also, so i just want to say you all are just awesome:)

He should be nearly done with the Waterloo project. I’m not sure when it was supposed to end. I’m sure they had to refigure deadlines after Covid.
Love to see the community involvement. In the original show, I always enjoyed seeing people tear up their own gardens because strangers asked nicely. :)

Have you been part of the community dig? I was fortunate to make a similar experience without the time team, but with Carenza in June. It was great fun.

I love to see some TimeTeam. I appreciate the efford. But I'm glad Toni is returning to the series. Who thought that some boring archeologist would bring compelling structure to the episodes? Or that a few "yes men' would replace a person who questions al he sees and everything they find? With questions that regular people would ask.
So for me, its a good thing, a big change and a welcome one. Makes the program human again. Thank you all!!
i do hope this season they add a bit of lighthearted comedy and banter into the show. Thats the one thing missing with the new eps. that comedic banter between tony, phil and the lot
Remember that team had well over 200 digs together though. It takes time and feeling people out for banter to be genuine and not scripted. So used to canned laughter these days we seek it everywhere.

Was just watching the old vid of Withington, where a whole new, undiscovered Roman Villa turned up on the geophysics just before the end of day three. Would love to see that site revisited one day.

Time Team lives again ❤...I saw that knitted doll of Mick..I don't know if it's been thought about but why not have dolls made of all the time team peoples, past and present,and sell them...great way to make money,I think they'd sell like hot cakes❤
This is as long as one of the regular episodes. Guss the host is great, still. But you need to do the scans and lidar stuff before anyone gets there from now on. Also John and Stewart need a few pre arrival days or drop the 3 day thing. Science has changed and we can’t do without them like the 90’s. Nobody is going to complain if you drop the 3 days thing. I’m an OG watcher and I’ve always had these thoughts but after this last episodes it makes the most sense.
There’s lots of talking about how it’s being done, but very little showing . I miss seeing the diggers find items and some of the lovely items they found. I also miss the explanations of eras, how the peoples built their homes and made hunting materials and ceramics.
