    In this video, I'm going to show you how I pack for a one-week Alaskan cruise in just a carry-on and a backpack.
    I will review clothing, toiletries, essentials, and my hacks to pack as lightly as possible even when cruising Alaska.

    Great tips thank you sooo much. I want to pack in a carry on and my backpack but. I did a sample pack and it didn’t fit lol. I will try using the air release bag because my packing cube was just huge! Lol i will be going to Alaska in a month now!! I am super cold natured and don’t want to be freezing the whole time.

      I did packing bags for everything to make it fit well. But I totally get it. It's a lot of layering for alaska. And rain jackets needed for sure.

    I’m talking to you now. I would bring some FRS radios to keep in contact on the ship. UHF works well for that environment. ❤

      that would be so cool. I bet you would love seeing the bridge here too and all the communication on there

      @@Cruisingfoodies definitely would. You know on the Titanic the radio room used a spark gap transceiver. Using Morse code. Provided by Guglielmo Marconi.

    What size carry on is that?

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 22 x 14. It might just look bigger bc of the way I was sitting

    I take several medications and wondered if flying, do I need the actual medication prescription bottles vs. Med container with morning/night meds? Currently, I plan on bringing all my original RX bottles.

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are ok to bring your meds in the same type of medicine container I have. I also brought my prescription with me but no one checked it. I think just meds by syringe were checked like insulin.

    The backpack looks very heavy. How do you find anything in the backpack? I find that if I pot things in the separate pockets I tend to forget which pocket it is in?

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol I love it. So super easy to find everything bc there's so many compartments. But no not heavy. I would say 10lb range.

    I think this type of compact packing with all those items only works if the traveler is super skinny or tiny. Hmm.

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done it for lots of people, all different sizes. The key is getting the good bags that really suck out a lot of air and also laying your clothes on top of each other flat, then putting them in the bag. It holds so much more that way.

    I've never packed like this. These bags are all on amazon?

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes these bags are on Amazon. And there's a lot of varieties but I recommend the ones that compress as much as possible

  • @user-kx8zw2we6d

    I think that's going to be too heavy for me

    • @Cruisingfoodies
      @Cruisingfoodies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a very lightweight carry-on which weighs under 5 lbs and is really easy to roll. My bags were under 30lbs total. But definitely try to get a bag that rolls easily so that'll help 😊
