Ohana means family!!!! And this Hawaii foodie family loves to travel, cook, and eat our way through every adventure!
Our travels throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Central, and South America have given us some amazing adventures and we love to share all of those food and travel experiences with you.
We live on the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i and love supporting locally-owned businesses and activities.
While our families hail from Italy and Korea, we have been fortunate to feast on foods from all over the world. Our passion for travel, beaches, cruising, and food was inherited by our Keiki (kids) and they love to explore lots of countries, but more importantly, they love to eat!
Every day is a foodie adventure for this ohana.
So....join us as our Ohana eats, cruises, and shares all of our foodie adventures with you.

Well, finally they fixed the falling tiles. Take my advise, skip everything and stay in the Ali'i Tower which is a resort within the resort Before sunset, get a Mai Tai , sit back and watch the HOT muscle guys light the tiki torches. They usually wear a loin cloth. Keep in mind that ALL the hotel rooms in Waikiki resorts are a bit "old". Hilton vacationers on the Big Islan have the Hilton Waikola Village will enjoy getting their steps in as the walk from the lobby to the rooms in the round towers is about a mile, literally. They do have a shuttle train however. The walkway is covered and has lots of "Art". As always, skip the food at Hilton and eat in town. Hilton food is expensive and substandard. 🤪
AWESOME DOG
@samkim5923 tysm it's a diabetic alert dog, it goes everywhere n behaves so we'll
I like that rainbow Tower with the ocean view and a balcony, How could you make the perfect video without mentioning coffee... 😂
@SHADOWBLACKs650 ahhh did I skip the coffee shop on there? Now I need to go back n look. I drink enough coffee for 5 people, I definitely should've said it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Cruisingfoodies yes, shame .. shame ☕️
@SHADOWBLACKs650 one of our fav spots fir coffee is Halekulani Bakery. They make a nice espresso and have good pastries.
I just wanna know what the couple in background was arguing about😂
@ethanmasliansky1366 hahaha got me. It was loud that day, we were sitting outside lol
Where is this?
@@user-xi5rw7ze9o taqueria ranchero in Kapolei at ka makana ali'i
Great video! Would this be a good cruise option for kids/teens?
Definitely! We had lots of families with kids of all ages onboard. Our kids are teens but there were plenty of little ones also. Hawaii is very family friendly so kids are welcomed everywhere
@@Cruisingfoodies thank you!
@@mya_122 absolutely anytime
But nobody wants my dickey 😞😞
Thanks
Sure thing
Metal Petrie dish.
Not quite. Germs r everywhere.
How does one make sure that their Korean husband is actually a real Korean and not a cyborg?
Haha. Well I'm pretty sure he's a real human after 25 years 🤣🤣🤣
Was there November 2023, having had stopover in Honululu waiting for my cruise going home to Moorea. 🌴🏖 Food was great. I loved it.❤🍟🥓🍔
Oh I love that. Which ship did you take back to moorea? We would love to go there
@@Cruisingfoodies I cruised with Norwegian Spirit, bc NCL is my preferred cruise line. NCL has changed to ship Norwegian Sky with this itinerary.
@monikaliebold4225 we love ncl too. We just did the Escape in Italy
When yall were in port for 2 days, did you keep your car rental both days? If so, where did you park it at night while on the ship?
Yes we did. In maui, we found a motel about a 10 min walk away that allowed us to park overnight. In Kauai, street parking right by the pier.
Thanks - we love gnocchi. Here's a tip, bc I always prepare too much 😊. If there is any gnocchi left (without sauce), easy recipe for eating leftovers next day (put gnocchi overnight in fridge): Put 2 tbsp olive oil into a pan, add one/two freshly crushed garlic cloves together with gnocchi, fry the gnocchi slightly crispy, add some chopped basil (fresh or dried) and serve with/without grated parmeggiano. My granny/mummy told me, if you have basic food in your kitchen, you always can create something with leftovers. Don't waste food.
So true. I try my best not to waste anything. We reheat pasta like that too! I love the edges a little crispy
😊😊😊😊
❤️❤️
Looks really delicious 😋 Buon appetito!
Grazie! Such a great dish
Thank you for the taxi idea for short visits.
Absolutely, they were super willing to negotiate prices and customize a tour to our interests
Great video. We are doing this cruise in September. Can you recommend a good luau to attend in Maui or Kaui?
Thank you so much fir watching. Old Lahaina and Te Au Moana would be the two I recommend in Maui. Make sure you try to book ASAP bc they do fill up pretty quickly.
‘ia ora na Recipe would be great. ❤❤Māuruuru Nānā from Moorea 🌴 🏖 😎
Recipe: 8 eggs 1.5 cups Sugar 1 cup Unbleached Flour 3 tsp Vanilla 1 Qt Half & Half 2 TBSP Butter Beat eggs Add Sugar Mix until lemony color Add flour, vanilla, mix well Scald Half & Half Add slowly to mixture over low heat, stirring constantly When thickened, Add 2 TBSP butter
@@CruisingfoodiesThank you so much. ❤
@monikaliebold4225 absolutely. Let me know how you like it. It's really versatile for a bunch of recipes.
Wheres the rum?! Looks good. Gotta make some rum baba
There is no rum in an Italian Cream Cake. The Rum Baba is completely different. Rum Baba is a small yeast cake saturated in syrup made with hard liquor, usually rum and sometimes filled with whipped or pastry cream.
The rum is either real rum(my grandfather used real) or rum extract thar you mix with simple syrup and put on the sponge cake directly before adding your cream in between each layer.
@monikaliebold4225 we actually add rum to the sponge cake mixed with simple syrup. The bakeries use rum extract mixed with simple syrup.
@@CruisingfoodiesYep, I will give it definitely a try. Thank you so much for the recipe. ❤ Cream gives me great memories to a cake of my Mummy 🌈 - called "punch ring" - because cake was baked in a ring shaped cake tin and she used real rum. And I lost recipe. So, now I have it back. So thankful ❤❤❤❤
Here to explain difference between cream cake (with rum) and rum baba. Rum baba is here in French-Polynesia a very common dessert, as part of history of motherland France. The modern baba au rhum (rum baba), small yeast cake with dried fruit and soaked in rum, was invented in the Rue Montorgueil in Paris in 1835 or before. So, if you order in France, Europe or here in French-Polynesia a rum baba, you will get the original small yeast cake and no sponge cream cake (with rum). Greetings from Moorea 🌴 🏖 😎 🇵🇫 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
I agree super happy about that.
Yes definitely! That's awesome
What was the gluten-free brand?
They had a brand called kinick kinick. First time I tried it. It was so good
@@Cruisingfoodies thank you 😊 .
@kristinaolson5785 anytime. They also used schar for bagels
Is September a good time to do this Cruise? Because I heard there can be some hurricanes in this time. So I‘m really unsure about that. Greeting from Germany😊
Aloha Melissa. September is a really nice time. Yes hurricane season stretches into early November but they will divert if seas are rough. The temperatures are nice in September and October. And Mahalo for watching
There is actually 2 ABC stores on the property
Yep there sure is. Do convenient and funny bc they do carry slightly different items.
I love the video. We are planning to do the cruise in september and we looking for recommendations in the different islands
Thank you so much for watching. Absolutely, happy to make recommendations. I have a list of places here in this video. We rented a vehicle and did a bunch of exploring. Hope this helps and gives you some great places to visit. th-cam.com/video/gtrf4n1jRb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ufIr6xFNXvn-_LEF
The food Looks amazing but you also with that amazing lipstick
thank you so much. Believe it or not it's a lip tattoo. this girl here in Hawai'i does an amazing job and it lasts about a year or two.
Solid
Lol solid was the word of the day hahaha
i like your content :D
Thank you so much.
냉면 sounds great right about now.
We need to go back again. It's so good
Awesome video thanks! Can I ask, where were you able to pick up rental cars on each island? Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for watching. And yes we were able to rent a car in each location. You do have to take an Uber to the airport in order to pick up the car. There are a couple locations that were closer however those were substantially more money so that's why we chose to rent from the airport. If you get a chance check out our full video, I'll add the link

@@MikeBarnhill awesome. Lmk if you have any questions, happy to answer
Did you take your dog?
That's not mine. But my mom's diabetic service dog. It's trained to indicate her low sugars so it travels the world with her.
Great video - coming in May . How are the rooms (ocean view) I am a bit claustrophobic !😮
Thank you for watching! The rooms were a nice size. The nice thing is the window was large. I'll add the other video which shows the room

I love hearing the roosters! ❤️
Omg everywhere here in Hawai'i lol. They were yelling at us and trying to nip our feet 🤣🤣🤣
I love the fact that there is no casino. For me, that should equate to no smokers! 🫶🏻
There is smoking at one bar outside on the back of the ship. But nothing inside the ship
Was still vaping like an asshole in my room all week 😂didn’t stop me
@@JusD3wit_ Maybe they can track your I.P. Address and block you from ever cruising again! 😉
@@Angiehere-1 nope mommy n daddy bought rooms🙂yur not the police anyways
@@JusD3wit_ if you get caught, you will be banned from cruising for life. Good luck.
So glad you’re recommending diy tour because we also only have 5 hours in the evening. But did you actually have the time to go to Butchart gardens? On their website it says it takes about an hour by cab from the port 😅
If you leave immediately , it's about a 25-30 min drive in each direction. You would definitely have to watch your time closely but you can do it for sure.
Man what kind of content you think you are bringing? Just ordered some door dash delivery

oh thanks I will!
Absolutely
I absolutely loved your video. And I love Oahu. I've been there five times now. Twice for business, working with military healthcare, and then coming back for vacations. I'm seventy five and celebrating my birthday on the Pride of America in October. Coming in a day early, but then staying 3 days after we dock. And flying back to Los Angeles to visit a friend then back home to Baltimore a week after that. I'm hoping to come back in April or May and spend several weeks. I would be working remote. I usually rent at Waikiki Banyon through VRBO but if you know of any one who is traveling a willing to sublet for a reasonable price App( cause I'm still paying rent here) Please let me know! I love Hawaii. If I could move there and just live full time, I would definitely pick up, pack up and be on my way! Every time I step off of a plane and land in honolulu, I feel like I can breathe. When I walk on the beach in Waikiki or North Shore. I feel such peace. Bless you and your travels, and thank you for the great videos
Awe thank you so much for watching. You will have a blast on the Pride. It was the perfect floating hotel to see so much in a week. We loved the overnights and think you will too. I'll def let you know if I hear of any open spots for next year. That's awesome that you're traveling back again. Will you stay 30 days in april?
I'm starting to check it out and see if I can find somebody who wants to sublet for a month or two if they are traveling. That way, I can actually work remote with my job from Hawaii. It would be like heaven. I worked remote last year for two weeks from Oahu but I'd love to stay longer. Thank you again for all the info about the Cruise.
@brendalogan6281 oh absolutely that would be awesome. Look into ewa beach ho'opili area bc they have lots of rentals
Great thanks for the ideas going to alaska for the first time next month!
You're gonna love it. Lots to see and explore
Wait!?! How did i miss this!???
Lots of great eats there. R u going on navigator?
Thanks for your great information. We are heading waikiki next week. Just want to ask is the breakfast buffet open yet in Hilton waikiki village ?thanks
It doesn't seem like they're reopening the breakfast buffet but Dukes has a breakfast buffet. You can also grab breakfast at tropics
@@Cruisingfoodies thank you very much for replying

I’m booked on for July 12 2025
That will be so fun. Let me know if you need any suggestions
Act your age
What do you mean?
I tried this and it was amazing! Keep the videos coming ahaha
Thank you so much. I love easy recipes on busy days 😊
Do they have crab legs or lobster on the cruise
They had lobster in the specialty dining. But I didn't see any crab legs while we were there
Are you kidding me ? They don’t even have to mount or dismount ?? That’s not riding but for people who don’t know what they are doing I guess that’s for the best. Beautiful trail tho !
There's an area where you stand up on a walkway to get on n off. It's definitely for people that are learning to ride. You can go to polo for more riding
Great tips thank you sooo much. I want to pack in a carry on and my backpack but. I did a sample pack and it didn’t fit lol. I will try using the air release bag because my packing cube was just huge! Lol i will be going to Alaska in a month now!! I am super cold natured and don’t want to be freezing the whole time.
I did packing bags for everything to make it fit well. But I totally get it. It's a lot of layering for alaska. And rain jackets needed for sure.
You're gonna love it there
Hello thank you for your great video!! What time of year were you there ? I will be there 1st week of July 2024 Edit - never mind i saw you said end of June so just a week before we will be there but who knows what the weather will be !
Yes we were there the last week of June and the weather was nice. We had the early docking 7am-1pm and it was chilly for us but we live on O'ahu lol. It's a cute little area and peek under the stones, sooo many starfish
Thank you! Im cold natured from Texas soo im use to the heat! it’s literally 92° today and crazy hot. I am soo looking forward to cool weather!!
@bleumustang6362 oh you will definitely like the cool breezes. Especially on the top deck, you can get great views if you bundle up
