I have this monitor and it's great for slower games, I would say. I am using v-sync, an fps cap, a high vertical total and the blurbusters strobe utility to get the cleanest experience out of it, but the reaction time still causes a lot of crosstalk on higher frequencies, so I prefer to keep it around 100. 180 gives me double images at the top and bottom third. I use it occasionally and I can easily ignore it, but I recommend a zowie when you play a lot of fast paced games. TN panels have less crosstalk due to better response times, so it's safer to use a higher refresh rate. Only the highest refresh rate a monitor can handle (or close) is not recommended because you cannot use a high vertical total to create a pause in between the refreshes to let the pixels adjust and strobe the backlight before new pixels appear Keep in mind that backlight strobing does not primarily improve motion clarity because it hides pixel response (which it doesn't do very well without a high vertical total and optimized pulse width, phase and overdrive anyway), but because each frame is exposed to your eye for a shorter amount of time. This means that your eye moves a shorter distance while each unmoving frame is visible. This is important to understand why OLED won't save us from blur in motion. Stating the invisibility of pixel response to be responsible for motion clarity implies that OLED is not blurry in motion at all. Without further information, most people will even think that OLED is far better than backlight strobing. It simply fixes the problems of LCD, right? OLED still smears the picture in your eye during the entirety of the frametime, which can be more or less than 10 ms (at 100 hz). This causes 100 times more motion blur than the 0.1 ms response time, to put it like that. You need black frame insertion to counter this without compromising eye candy and/or game mechanics to get more frames per second. This can be problematic because OLED isn't very bright already Backlight strobing is similar to shorter exposure times in a video, like 1/240 second at 60 fps instead of 1/60 second. This increases the sharpness when things on the sensor move more than one pixel per frame. A high vertical total is comparable to rolling the shutter from top to bottom in 1/240 second, instead of 1/60 second. This makes rolling shutter artefacts less of a problem
I just got this monitor and I absolutely love it. I was unsure about going back to 1080p, but at 23.5" the PPI is great and it's so nice to have IPS on a monitor like this. Hey ZXTECH! I see on amazon there is another monitor by Viewsonic that is part of their ELITE line, the ViewSonic Elite XG250: it is also 240hz with pureXP technology, and I was wondering if this was worth getting over the xg2431 or not. They are only a $10-20 difference. Could you please advise? Thanks, and love your content bro.
edit: it looks like the OMNI is freesync while the ELITE version is Gsync, so there's a difference. In general, I think the look of the ELITE monitor is cooler, which is another reason why I would want to consider it over the OMNI.
Im unsure, since I havent used it personally. Maybe check the RTings.com review on it?
If it’s not blue buster approved then it probably won’t have the same secret sauce
@@austine2680 Maybe blur busters hasnt analyzed the XG250 but I agree does make you wonder if kts not up to par woth the 2431...however the XG250 is 280 hz instead of 240 (probably just and overclocked 240 hz but still)...I just bought it on amazon for 208$ so ill see how it is, but this video is causing some serious buyers remorse.... might have to return it and get the 2431!!!
@@Pablo-wj4hb I saw it was 50 nits brighter than the 2431 and overclocked I guess. It’s between this and the 2431. I’m torn and scared without the blur buster approval :/ I just want that no blur for Val
they have different panel
Viewsonic VX Series VS16261 is the best monitor for gaming i used. Cheap and amazing 240hz
Monitor was $300 for me. Idk cause it wasn’t on sale
Still a good price
Can y’all do an acer nitro 390hz review?
no money
@@ZXTech fair point hope you have money soon so you can review it I like your reviews
Hmm $500 for a display ain't cheap cheap, but this seems really compelling. The fact that it's an IPS panel means it would probably do fine for literally everything else you gotta do on a PC.
exactly why its my daily driver. Though i only game on PC these days!
on amazon in the US its $309
@@zennyfps even $279 for now. Extremely cheap
@@medium-ware_sirloin i jst bought it
@@medium-ware_sirloin just copped it for 274$
yeah and failed to mention the brightness sacrifice made for it to perform on the level of benq
I DID LOL
@@ZXTech snuck it in there somewhere for insurance purposes. How about highlighting the real decisive factor for most us here.... 300nits vs ips colors at 100nits
@@ZXTech nothing new here... we've been having solutions that compete with dyac+ at 100nits...
Lol speaking from experience, its plenty bright enough honestly, even with windows up. It's not really that dark as reviewers say imo
I just got mine today. The default color profile was shit. but I tweaked it and made some adjustments
Red : 85
Green: 73
Blue: 100
and 75% digital vibrance on NVCP
Overall the monitor is amazing and worth it
Nice.
Hi how did you access the purexp mode for me it's disabled I can't access it I don't know why please help
What do u think about the alienware 360? i was between alienware and benq 240hz for valorant xd

Viewsanicccc. Nice review. Will consider if I'm in the market for a new monitor 😜
Thanks for the watch!
I mean ive been using a 2011 60hz monitor till now 😂 this would be a huge upgrade(brightness wise, mine would be even lower 😂) the only thing i dont fancy is its standard basic look
Sometimes less is more!
@@ZXTech I actually got, stand looks basic in videos but it is actually really premium and sturdy. Great investment, thanks for the video : )
Benq zowie 360hz is better
